[ Item #: SCP-469, 'Many Winged Angel' ]
[ Object Class: Keter ]
Looking at the file, surprise intensified on Brit's face.
"Come here, everyone, the file is here!" Brit waved to them, and the group quickly surrounded him.
When the four looked at the file, the more they looked, the more surprised they became.
[ Item #: SCP-469, 'Many Winged Angel' ]
[ Object Class: Keter ]
[ Description: SCP-469 appears to be a gargantuan mound of large avian wings with white, glossy feathers, curled into a massive ball measuring 8.84m (29ft) in diameter and weighing several tons. Each wing varies in size and span, ranging from a few centimeters to several meters, with the largest estimated to be at least 53m (173.8ft) in length, and branch off one another in seemingly random, fractal-like arrays.
X-rays have revealed the wings to possess long chains of small, vertebrae-like bones as opposed to the few long bones in a typical avian wing, allowing each wing to have exceptional flexibility akin to a snake. These chains of bones can also "lock" together to form a more rigid structure to aid in flight or defense. At the center of the mass is a large humanoid creature, approximately 6m (19.6)ft in height, curled up into a fetal position, to which all the wings are attached at its spine. Further details regarding this humanoid are unknown, as the density of both the wings and its body make it difficult to study remotely.
SCP-469 appears to "feed" exclusively on sound waves, using the energy gained from sound to grow newer and bigger wings and feathers, as well as repairing damaged ones. The louder the sound and/or the higher the frequency, the faster SCP-469 grows. Though it can be sustained by any sound, it seems to have a preference for rhythmic/musical noises, especially those produced by bells (see Incident Log 469-01). SCP-469 itself, however, seems to make no noise whatsoever due to the sound-absorbing structure of its plumage.
Any human or animal that touches or gets too close to the surface of the creature will be quickly enveloped by the outstretching wings and drawn inside. Despite the feathers' soft appearance, each barb has a sharp point that quickly pierces through clothing and into bare flesh, releasing a potent mix of stimulants that immediately activates the pain receptors in the victim's body, with additional stimulants keeping the victim from passing out too quickly. This is done to make the victim scream loudly, thus feeding SCP-469 even more until the victim either passes out or dies of blood loss and/or suffocation from being buried beneath newly-grown wings. SCP-469 is responsible for the loss of four personnel this way. Touching SCP-469 with dead or nonliving objects does not have the same effect, though it actively resists any attempt to physically penetrate its core body.
All termination methods of SCP-469 have been unsuccessful. Flamethrowers were initially used, but the noise from the discharging propellant as well as the crackling flames gave SCP-469 the energy to grow faster than it could be destroyed. Cutting and slicing instruments, due to their close range, resulted in failure and the loss of two agents. Acid immersion is being suggested. ]
"My God! This... it's so beautiful, but it's so scary..." After reading the file, Kiwo was the first to exclaim, and the others followed suit.
According to the description in the file, SCP-469 is a monster with white wings that feeds on sound. Although outwardly it seems beautiful, it captures and tortures victims, making them scream for a long time, which is truly chilling. This is not an angel, at least not the angels people have always imagined. In a way, it is an outright winged demon.
[ ===== ]
Not only was the group shocked, but the viewers in the stream also saw the file, and each of them was equally shocked:
"WTF! It's an angel?!"
"Damn, I was looking forward to it when I first saw the name 'Many Winged Angel', but now that I see it, I have goosebumps!"
"It's so strange to use sound as a food source, and I'm a little scared for no reason. What's going on?"
"Whoa, damn!"
"I don't know why, but I suddenly became very curious about the appearance of the 'Many Winged Angel'. If its wings are fully unfolded, what will it look like inside?"
"It must be a big monster!"
[ ===== ]
In the game.
Kiwo shook her head quickly, a frightened expression on her face: "I don't know, this angel is so scary. Although it's beautiful, it's just so scary..."
RT, next to her, scratched his head and said: "Could this be the same as that... Ah, right, 'Shadow Person', right? Could it be similar? What do we have to complete to get through?"
Brit shook his head, "I don't know. Let's search the room. Maybe there will be some clues, such as documents or something."
The four of them searched the room for a while. However, after looking around, they did not find any useful clues.
"Damn it, there was no hint at all," RT shouted.
Brit was also confused. Judging from various indications, this area is very similar to the 'Shadow Person' area. However, they found a hint in that area. But in this area, there is no hint. What is this? Can they go another way? But there is only one road here; where else can they go besides going this way?
The four stood in the room looking at each other, and even the viewers in the stream were confused. Finally, Brit looked at the metal door they came in through. The door had not been closed yet, and the dim passage outside could still be seen, which meant the containment area was not sealed!
"Perhaps, there is no other way to go?" Brit muttered, then he looked at the metal door at the back of the room. After thinking about it, he took out the Level 5 Keycard again.
"Perhaps we should open the door of the containment room and see," Brit said softly and walked to the metal door deep in the room.
Seeing this, the others became a little nervous. After all, 'SCP-469' is not a benevolent entity. However, thinking about it carefully, Brit's approach was their only choice. Because they couldn't turn back, right? There was no other way.
Coupled with the fact that they had a Level 5 Keycard, they could travel unimpeded. So, before making the next decision, they had to see what was going on in the containment room, right? Maybe there was a way out?
Thinking of this, the three silently followed Brit. After the three of them took a deep breath, Vale said, "Brit, open it."
Brit nodded. However, before opening it, Brit gave another warning: "Be quiet, remember to be quiet. We will try not to make any noise after the door is opened."
After all three nodded, Brit took the Keycard and swiped it lightly on the card reader next to the metal door. After a beep, the metal door opened.
But the next moment, the group couldn't help but widen their eyes.
