He's not bad.
And Gray meant it for real this time, not in the same way he said Deep Sea King was decent because he was a higher enough power level to hold his own against someone like Saeko or Asuna. Homeless Emperor was actually impressive.

They're called 'mages,' but…
It seemed that the people in the Planet Coalition understood Ki differently than Gray did, as the 'magic' beams that they had used to counter Celia's attack were actually just Ki beams. Gray had suspected as much from seeing a couple of the other heroes fight, as during his fight with Tanktop Master the man had used Ki to enhance his muscles instead of using typical Ki blasts.
They use Ki to enhance their physical abilities or use techniques, while these 'mages' are more typical Ki-specialists.
But that just made Gray more excited for the fight than anything.
His power level is less than half of mine, but his Ki is almost the same as mine.
Gray smirked lightly, feeling a twinge of adrenaline form within him.
High Ki, but lower HP for his power level. He's probably fast and relies on Ki techniques.
Homeless Emperor seemed like the most annoying type of person to fight - the type of person who would run away while spamming Ki attacks, never taking a direct fight.
He'll be annoying, which means I'll actually have to put some effort into this fight.
Even if the fight would be an annoying one, Gray was more excited at the idea of having to use a fair bit of his power. He hadn't had a real challenge since Kokabiel.
And, the quest isn't bad either.
To his side, a quest had appeared at the appearance of Homeless Emperor.

The rewards weren't anything insane, but for defeating just one man, one man who was half Gray's power level, it wasn't bad at all.
"T-There's a lot of them!" Fubuki said loudly, a slight panic in her voice as she floated next to Gray.
Wait, she can fly? Why'd I have to carry her up here?
"Only like… a million," Caulifla grinned, vastly overestimating the couple thousand mages rising in the air toward them, "That's a million too few! I'll take them all!"
"Fine with me," Gray nodded, and Caulifla blinked as she looked over at him.
"Wait, really?" She asked, obviously expecting her words to be shot down.
"I get the main one," Gray said with a nod. "You take the rest. Kale, Cabba, Asuna, and Saeko - you guys can help too if you want. The rest of you should stay back and stay safe."
"Eh? There are thousands of them, and you want me to retreat?" Fasha huffed, glaring at Gray lightly, "Seriously?"
"You're not retreating - you're staying back to protect the rest of the squad," Gray countered easily, "If anyone comes after you guys, you can take them, alright?"
I'd usually just trust Celia to watch over the weaker members, but she just tired herself out a fair bit.
Fasha just looked at him with a hard face for a moment, then sighed as she nodded, "Whatever. You need to make it up to me tonight, alright?"
"W-What?" Tamari stuttered at her leading statement.
"Sure," Gray just hummed in response, tensing his body as he locked in on Homeless Emperor, focusing on his energy signature.
"W-What do you mean sure?! What does that mean?!" Tamari spat out, her head swiveling from Gray to Fasha with a blush.
"You've been missing out," Fasha just smirked lightly, "The rest of us have been getting Gray's big meaty ro-"
Gray didn't wait to hear her finish, as he disappeared from his spot with his squad. He reappeared behind Homeless Emperor with a use of [Instant Transmission], his hand casually clamping on his shoulder.
"Hey," Gray grinned, and Homeless Emperor spun around, his eyes wide. He raised his hands, two twin orbs of Ki appearing in the air next to him, but his world was shaken a moment later. Literally - Gray's head slammed into his with a head-butt, and the man's head snapped back.

It's his own fault - he didn't even say 'hi' back!
He recovered pretty quickly, the man's hands snapping upward and flicking forward. The two balls of Ki shot point-blank toward Gray.
This'll be a good test. Let's see how strong you really are.
Gray didn't dodge, instead punching his fist forward and exploding the Ki ball in his face.

Could be worse.
For a hastily made Ki-ball that hadn't made direct contact, the damage wasn't particularly impressive, but it wasn't pathetic either.
"I hope you've got more in you," Gray hummed confidently, shooting forward as he blurred toward Homeless Emperor. His hand lashed out, aiming for the man's head, but the mage barely managed to throw himself out of the way.
Pretty quick, but not quick enough.
His hands lashed out again, and twin Ki beams shot toward Gray. Gray easily weaved between them, appearing in front of Homeless Emperor's face and slamming his fist into it casually.

Gray didn't let up easily, appearing behind the man in an instant as he was flung backward. His leg lashed out in a round-house kick, slamming into the center of the man's back and launching him towards the city below again.

Gray turned to blast after him, but a flurry of small Ki beams came shooting at him from some of the surrounding mages in the air. Gray just clicked his tongue in annoyance, casually shifting his body by a couple of inches and allowing the beams to shoot past him.
"You gotta respect the one-on-one," Gray hummed, raising his hand into a finger gun.
But I was clearly kicking their king's ass, so I can't blame them.
His hand flicked, and a flurry of bullets shot out, killing the weaker mages before they could even hope to dodge.

What is up with these fuckin' names?!
The list of idiotic names continued down as his finger flicked, dozens of mages falling from the sky in an instant. Down below, Homeless Emperor recovered as his hands raised again.
"[Straight Line Bombardment!]" He screamed up at Gray, and a burst of large Ki balls appeared in the air. They flooded forward, dozens of them shooting in a straight line toward Gray.
"You should feel honored," Gray merely grinned, his hands cupping at his side, "I don't think this is necessary, but this whole mission has been pretty easy so far, so I'm going to have some fun!"
A small orb of black Ki flickered into existence at Gray's side, slowly growing as the air around him distorted. The dirty air started to swirl, as if it was being pulled into the flickering orb, which solidified at his side.
Just as the first of Homeless Emperor's balls of Ki were about to make contact, Gray thrust his arms forward.
"[Kokuyo!]"
Gray's blast of dark Ki easily overpowered Homeless Emperor's, shooting through the first ball like it was nothing and consuming it entirely. It continued downward, eating the dozens of towering Ki balls like they were nothing on its path to reach the caster.
"F-Fuck!" Homeless Emperor spat out, his arms raising as a large Ki ball appeared in front of him. He shoved his arms forward, and the ball stretched as it shot forward in a Ki-beam.
The beam slammed into Gray's [Kokuyo], and the two attacks stalled out for nearly an entire second.
Impressive.
Then, Gray's overwhelming power level and pure strength completely overpowered him. It blasted through Homeless Emperor's beam, devouring it as it slammed into the man who launched it.

"GRAHHH!" Homeless Emperor screamed in pain as the Ki blast made contact, carrying him on a path directly down into the city below. The mage didn't manage to pull himself out from under the beam, being carried all the way down and slamming into the floor of the city.
125,900HP! (1,367,500/1,891,220)
As the blast hit the ground, the massive Ki blast exploded upward in a large orb. It extended outward, consuming a huge portion of the city and turning it into a massive crater. The buildings crumbled under the heat, disintegrating into nothingness as a flurry of notifications appeared in the corner of Gray's vision - confirming the death of many more mages, or maybe just civilians, that were caught in the blast.
Once again, I'm left disappointed. I'll end this early.
To Homeless Emperor's credit, he recovered pretty quickly again. Two massive beams of Ki shot upward from the city at Gray again a few seconds later, but Gray didn't even pay them any mind. He focused on the source of the two beams, and appeared on the ground next to Homeless Emperor's panting form.
"You almost hit me," Gray said dryly, and Homeless Emperor spun around quickly in surprise. What he got for his trouble was a Ki-coated fist slamming into his gut.

Homeless Emperor slumped over from the blow, and Gray placed a hand on his shoulder. A split second later, and the two had instant tranmissioned over to the retreating members of Gray's squad as they were the furthest Ki signatures Gray could lock onto.
"Gray?" Tamari's face was in his vision for a split second as Gray grabbed both of Homeless Emperor's shoulders, spinning around and flinging the man far behind them.
"I'll be right back," Gray grinned at her, then disappeared as he instant transmissioned to the flying body of Homeless Emperor. His foot slammed down on the man's back, changing his trajectory and sending him plummeting toward the ground.

Gray blasted down to the floor, landing next to the mage as he landed on the ground in a crater.
"It was a decent fight," Gray grinned as Homeless Emperor pushed himself to his feet, his face bruised and his body bleeding from the various cuts on his body from being flung around so much.
"Y-You think this is over, bastard?" Homeless Emperor huffed, raising his hands as he glared at Gray, "This fight is far from over!"
"No, no, it's over," Gray just continued to grin, pointing his finger upward casually.
It was going to take twenty minutes for the moon to be in view of the city, but…
From flinging Homeless Emperor far from the city while beating his ass, a small sliver of a silver glowing object was now floating far overhead.
"What are you…" Homeless Emperor trailed off, his eyes going wide as he took a step back.
Gray's body started to expand, his muscles building as hair grew on his limbs and body. His body started to grow taller, his features becoming more ape-like as his body expanded into the form of an Ozaru.
"G-God?" Homeless Emperor muttered with fear-stricken eyes as Gray continued to grow larger, but Gray just smirked down at him.
Well, never heard that before. Am I really that scary?
"I told you, it was a decent fight." Gray reached his full size, towering far above the form of Homeless Emperor as a large ape-shaped shadow consumed the mage.
"It's over now."
