Chapter 236 - Please forgive me, part 1

Third person POV

Karen walked through the crowded hallway, her heels clicking against the polished floor with the same confidence that had once made everyone's heads turn.

However, whispers chased her like shadows, and giggles echoed from corners where faces turned away too quickly.

She frowned, holding her chin higher. Even if things were bad, they wouldn't dare confront her. But then it came. A girl bumped into her and spilled water down her front.

"Sorry, it was an accident," the girl said with a mocking smile.

"You bitch! Don't you dare do that to me!" Karen screamed, but her tormentor didn't feel intimidated.

"Oh? And what are you going to do about it?" a man asked, stepping between the two girls.

"I will..." Her voice slowly faded as she stared up at the large man.

Karen heard a sharp laugh from behind. Soon, everyone in the hallway was mocking her.

She froze.
