Kakashi looked back at Naruto, then glanced at Chinatsu, his face growing more solemn as he thought to himself, "Rather than saying the technique is terrifying, it's better to say the guy who created this technique is terrifying. That guy Fujiwara Kirito did something even the Fourth Hokage couldn't do just by observing the Jinchūriki's Tailed Beast Ball. How strong is this guy?"
"Senior Kakashi, the aftermath is left to you." Yamato looked deeply at the dying Kakuzu in the pit and said to Kakashi.
"Ah, leave it to me." Kakashi nodded and jumped down into the pit, standing in front of Kakuzu.
"I was actually killed by a brat like you..." Kakuzu lay on the ground, dying, his eyes filled with despair and unwillingness.
"Indeed, in front of someone like you who once fought the First Hokage, we may seem like mere brats. But in our eyes, you're just an old man out of touch with the times. Future generations will constantly surpass you. That's why you're dying here."
Kakashi slightly closed his left eye, raised his right hand, and a ball of lightning appeared in his palm, crackling with a sizzling sound.
"Hahaha," Kakuzu suddenly laughed.
"What's so funny?" Kakashi was stunned and stopped what he was doing.
"So that's how it is. I really am an old man out of touch with the times." Kakuzu's smile faded as he looked up at Kakashi with difficulty. "But you'll end up the same way."
"What do you mean?" Kakashi frowned, trying to get any possible intel on the Akatsuki.
Kakuzu said, "I remember Kirito… he should've been a ninja from your Konoha."
Kakashi's brows furrowed even more, and then he heard Kakuzu continue, "Kirito is strong, very strong—hundreds of times stronger than me, no… ten thousand times. The strength you've shown so far is nothing compared to when Kirito first joined Akatsuki at thirteen and instantly destroyed four of my hearts."
"Even that technique used by that Jinchūriki kid is just a knockoff."
"Kakashi… whether it's you or that Nine-Tails brat, Konoha and even the Five Great Nations will be—ah..."
Kakashi didn't let Kakuzu finish. He knew there would be no further useful intel, and delay could be dangerous. To be safe, he acted decisively.
However, what he didn't realize was that his Kamui had missed.
At the critical moment, Fujiwara Kirito intervened and used Mirror Flower Water Moon to alter Kakashi's perception.
Yamato turned to the Konoha shinobi. "Okay, everyone. We should return to Konoha."
Everyone slowly nodded after hearing this.
"Hey, why is Naruto still lying on the ground?" Ino and Choji noticed Naruto still hadn't gotten up. They hurried over to help him.
Chinatsu stood behind them and said, "This is the result of forcing a technique. Wind Style: Rasenshuriken isn't meant to be used like that."
"That's right, Rasenshuriken isn't meant to be used like this." At that moment, a calm male voice rang out.
"Fujiwara Kirito." Except for Karin and Chinatsu, everyone's face turned pale.
Kakashi, who was about to retrieve Kakuzu's body in the pit, instantly appeared beside Yamato, eyes serious as he stared ahead.
Kirito appeared alone, walking toward them with his usual handsome face and sunny smile, but to the Konoha ninja, that smile felt icy.
After an exhausting battle in which they finally took down two Akatsuki members, the most troublesome figure to them so far had suddenly shown up. Nothing could be worse.
"Everyone, stay alert! Ino, Choji—get Naruto out of here. The next battle is beyond your level!" Kakashi drew his kunai, slightly closing his left eye. The chakra in his Mangekyō was already prepared.
This was their only hope to stop Kirito.
Kirito walked to within four or five meters of Naruto and the others before stopping. He chuckled. "Looks like I'm a bit late. Feidan, that idiot, is one thing, but you even managed to kill Kakuzu, an old ninja over ninety."
"But it doesn't matter. Now, I'll show you what a real Wind Style: Rasenshuriken looks like."
As he spoke, Kirito slowly raised his right hand, palm up.
With a sharp whoosh, a Rasenshuriken began forming, quickly expanding to a diameter of over ten meters.
"It's huge!" Kakashi, Yamato, and Shikamaru were all horrified, their faces pale. Ino, who was fleeing with Naruto, turned and was so terrified that she collapsed. Choji, too, fell over in fear.
Compared to Kirito's, Naruto's Rasenshuriken was nothing.
"What are you all standing there for? Run! I'll handle the rest!" Kakashi was the first to react. The three tomoe in his right eye transformed into a sickle-shaped Mangekyō. He waved and called for the others to flee, then released Kamui toward Kirito.
But Kirito had already predicted it with Observation Haki. He sensed Kakashi's chakra concentrating in his left eye and dodged in an instant.
The next moment, space where Kirito once stood distorted. The nearby grass, trees, and rocks were sucked into a swirling vortex, disappearing into another dimension.
Still holding the massive Rasenshuriken in his right hand, Kirito chuckled. "So this is the Mangekyō Eye Technique you used on Deidara? A rare space-time jutsu. Powerful and fast, yes, but useless."
"Even the strongest eye technique requires chakra. Once your chakra focuses on your eye, I just need to avoid it in that moment."
"So you saw through it… but even then, this kind of space-time ninjutsu still can't compete with his body flicker." Kakashi collapsed to the ground, supporting himself with both hands as he panted. Already seriously wounded from the earlier battle, using Kamui had drained the last of his chakra.
Seeing that Kamui had failed, Shikamaru, who had followed Kakashi's instructions to flee, couldn't bear to abandon his comrades. He turned back and used the Shadow Imitation Technique to freeze Kirito. But just like three years ago, it was instantly broken.
