Chapter 3 - Jayden Harper

"Let me just take a quick shower-" The voice stopped, I froze. Who's in here with me, I should probably take a peek but if it's one of the boys.

I mentally shuddered, I heard footsteps approaching.

"Chris, I swear stop using our bathro-" The guy blanched as he realized I'm not a guy. I'm a girl in the Jacuzzi, this is embarrassing. I felt the tip of my ears burning, I'm pretty sure that my ears and probably cheeks were red.

Black hair, sea blue eyes and an olive skin tone that looked almost sun-kissed.

The piano, Jayden Harper. Most talented of the brothers even as he's the youngest, notices things that others don't notice, back at home fans had crazy theories about the game, with most concerning him.

They said ghosts appear anytime he touches a key. He took one look at me and walked out, I heard him talking to Luke.

And he sounded pissed off, can't blame him. I too would be pissed off if there was a stranger in my bathroom.

"What do you mean she's my roommate?" Jayden asked a laughing Luke.

"Well according to the dictionary.... a roommate is someone who one shares a room with." I heard Luke explaining. I tuned out their voices as I got out and took the nearest clothes I could see which happened to be a tank top and shorts, I slowly opened the door hoping they won't hear me but they both kept quiet as soon as I stepped out.

"Jay, I think you and Jade might be the same size." Luke pointed out while giving me this look. "Your clothes fit her perfectly."

Jayden opened his mouth but closed it as he stared at me with this look I couldn't pin.

"Luke. Can you excuse us?" Jayden told Luke.

"Wha- why? This is my room too you know." Luke replied.

"Cause I said so."

"I'm your older brother!"

"Lemme see since when that affected me... oh wait. Never, out." Jayden said before rudely pushing Luke out off the room. "Go hang out with Christopher or Rio."

Then he turned his attention back to me, his eyes narrowing as he kept staring at me with this look that I couldn't tell whether it was disgust or whether it was..... suspicion.

"Just how old are you?" He asked as he approached me.

"Seventeen." I replied, backing away from him because he was too close for comfort. Jayden pauses, his eyes seeming distant like he's thinking about something.

"You're seventeen and looking for a job?" He asked again, his head tilting to the side while frowning at me. I internally face palmed. Someone should please remind me on how the fandom thinks he's the smartest character when he doesn't know a seventeen year can apply for a job.

"I need the money. Is this interrogation over?" I asked because I have better things to do. Like finding out how on earth am I suppose to entertain celestial beings I never believed in.

Jayden frowned but I'm starting to think that's his default face at this point.

"Ok. So you're my personal maid right?" He asked in this authoritative voice. At least I know which parent he inherited that from.

"No, I'm the Harper family's personal maid." I replied evenly. He blinked his eyes once then twice.

"Still my personal maid." He said dismissively. "So here are the ground rules you have to follow." He continued "You look me in the eye when I talk to you, you don't speak unless I ask you to and never think about my whereabouts and never follow me without my consent. Am I clear?" He asks me.

Bold of him to assume that I would want to think let alone follow him but I nod anyways.

"Great. Now you can leave." Jayden says, backing away from me and sitting on his bed.

"And why would I leave?" I asked staring at him, he stares at me like I just said something dumb in his ears as he picks up his phone.

"Because I don't want see your face." He replies before fully paying attention to his phone, explosive sounds coming from the device.

He's playing video games while kicking me out of the room I'm suppose to stay in with him.

"Then where will I go?" I ask as I literally don't know my way around this mansion, this is literally my first day here.

"I don't care." He replies, his eyes never leaving the screen. The audacity of this-

"I'll tell your dad that you kicked me out of the room I'm suppose to share with you and Luke." I threaten, he might have not been there when I was properly being introduced to his brothers but judging by how their father talks to them I can tell he would be in trouble if he dared to contradict his father.

I guessed right because Jayden's finger paused over his screen as his eyes snapped to meet mine.

"You wouldn't. You don't know your way around here." He replies, but he doesn't sound sure of himself.

"Directions exist you know." I say sweetly. "Plus, if I did get lost in the mansion you'd still be at fault." I add.

Jayden stares at me, trying to process everything I just said like he can't believe I'm trying to blackmail him and I can't believe myself either, the words just came out.

I stare at him and he simply stares back, both of us quiet as we're waiting for the other to say something. The explosions coming from Jayden's phone is the only sound made.

"Fine, stay. See if I care." He finally muttered before continuing with the game. I grinned, enjoying my small victory as collapsed on his bed stretching my limbs.

What? Getting sent into another world without your consent really drains one's energy, I must have dozed off because it was Luke who came to wake me up for dinner. Jayden wasn't in the room.

The dining room was large, the table had a violet table cloth covering the entire table while each seat was covered in gold coloured cloth. There was a mini chocolate fountain on the table, plates that had chicken, pork and lamb also covered the table.

The brothers were sitting from eldest to youngest on the the left side while I was the only one sitting at the right. As for some reason, their parents weren't around. Christopher said that they had an important meeting to attend when Luke asked, we ate in an awkward silence because obviously none of us wanted to speak.

Chris and Luke did try to help me clear the table but I politely declined. It's my job to clear the table not theirs, well it's person's body I possesses job.

After doing the dishes I went to bed, Luke was already asleep but Jayden was no where to be found, as I was too tired I didn't put much notice into his absence and simply fell asleep.

But even through sleep I could hear a haunting melody from somewhere in the mansion.
