After all, Lin San only had one arm, and it was his left arm.
His strength was certainly not on par with a normal Martial God.
Back at his residence, Lin San resumed his cultivation once again.
He needed to train harder and faster to make himself stronger.
Due to the loss of one arm, his strength was naturally a bit weaker under normal circumstances, which meant he had to make up for it through relentless cultivation.
[Ding!]
At that moment, a crisp sound rang out.
[Host]: Ye Fan
[Sword Name]: Ye Fan
[Quality]: Divine-grade
[Active Skill]:
[Reforge Blade]: By channeling energy from the sword master into the sword, a powerful golden energy is unleashed, restoring the sword to its full form.
[Passive Skill]:
**[Absorption]: The sword can absorb all blood essence and energy, transferring it to the sword master.
"A passive skill, huh? It's quite similar to the old blood absorption," Ye Fan muttered with relief.
At least he could still absorb blood essence and energy, which meant he could continue accumulating evolution points and energy points.
"But how do I level up now?" Ye Fan stared at the system interface, puzzled.
"Could it be... this upgrade isn't the full version yet?" Ye Fan sighed in resignation at the thought.
Time passed quickly, and the next day, Lin San headed to the northern Qing River as agreed, exiting the city gates.
Before long, he could see a group of Martial Gods gathered by the banks of the blue river.
"Ah, another one's here," some of the Martial Gods said as they noticed Lin San approaching.
Seeing Lin San, a sneer appeared on the faces of some Martial Gods.
After all, Lin San was missing his right arm, a clear sign of having lost it in battle.
"You actually came," said the recruiter from before, casting a glance at Lin San.
"But only thirty people will be selected. You may not be needed."
"Why wouldn't I be needed?" Lin San asked in confusion.
"Haven't you figured it out yet?" The man shook his head and explained, "More than thirty people have shown up. We'll pick the top thirty based on strength, and you don't stand much of a chance."
"I think I can," Lin San responded calmly after a moment of thought.
Some of the nearby Martial Gods couldn't help but laugh at Lin San's words.
A one-armed Martial God? How could he possibly compete with them?
"Alright, how about this: If you can beat him, you can join our team," the recruiter said with a smirk.
"Our team is led by a nine-star Martial God."
The recruiter intended to give Lin San a hard lesson, to show him what real strength looked like.
"Zhang Mingkuan!" The recruiter called out loudly.
In response, a large Martial God stepped forward, wielding an enormous battle axe, and glanced at Lin San.
"If you can beat him, you won't need to fight anyone else. You'll be guaranteed a spot in the team!" the recruiter added, staring at Lin San with a mocking smile.
"So, do you dare?" he asked, his tone full of derision.
How could a one-armed man possibly defeat Zhang Mingkuan, a Martial God known for his incredible strength and skill with the battle axe?
"Yes, I can," Lin San nodded.
"Hahaha! Kid, you really think you can fight me?" Zhang Mingkuan burst out laughing.
Lin San didn't look like a strong Martial God at all. With one arm missing, he was definitely not a match for Zhang Mingkuan.
To Zhang, this was nothing more than a warm-up.
The surrounding Martial Gods also watched with amused eyes, eager to see how this fight would unfold.
"Should I go easy on you and not use my weapon?" Zhang Mingkuan teased, staring at Lin San.
"No need," Lin San replied calmly, drawing his sword as he spoke.
"Hahaha!" As soon as Lin San drew his sword, the Martial Gods around him erupted in laughter.
"You've got to be kidding! You brought a broken sword to the fight?"
The Martial Gods laughed harder when they saw the damaged sword in Lin San's hand.
The sword was missing a large chunk from its blade. How could anyone fight with such a broken weapon?
"Damn it! Did they just call me a broken sword?" Ye Fan was extremely displeased.
Lin San, however, remained silent. He channeled his energy into the Ye Fan sword, and in the next moment, a powerful golden light erupted from the blade.
In an instant, the golden energy filled the missing parts of the sword, restoring its blade to completeness.
"Huh?" The Martial Gods who had been laughing moments earlier now looked on in shock.
The golden light from the sword was unexpected, and the sword's blade, which had been incomplete moments ago, now appeared whole again.
Furthermore, a powerful aura emanated from the sword.
"It seems this isn't just an ordinary sword after all," one of the Martial Gods murmured.
"Interesting. I'd like to see what a one-armed fool like you can do," Zhang Mingkuan laughed, clearly still confident.
In the next instant, Zhang Mingkuan swung his massive battle axe and charged toward Lin San.
Lin San also moved, swiftly clashing his sword against Zhang's battle axe.
Clang!
The loud sound of metal clashing reverberated through the air, accompanied by a powerful shockwave that stirred up the wind around them.
Zhang Mingkuan sneered, pouring his energy into the battle axe, which pressed down heavily on Ye Fan's sword.
The tremendous force caused Lin San to be pushed back a considerable distance, though he quickly stabilized himself.
In that moment, golden flames erupted from the sword in Lin San's hand.
[Saint-grade Martial Technique: Flaming Sword Slash!]
With a sharp motion, Lin San swung his sword, sending the golden flames surging forward.
"These flames are nowhere near as powerful as the Infernal Flame Soul Slash," Ye Fan commented wistfully.
But it seemed he could no longer use that skill.
What a pity.
Zhang Mingkuan, seeing the blazing flames rushing toward him, suddenly looked alarmed.
He swiftly dodged to avoid the attack.
Boom!
The flames struck the ground not far away, causing a massive explosion that shook the earth.
