Chapter 438 - Chapter 438: Illusions

Tang Wutian looked at the group seriously, giving them careful instructions. Upon hearing his words, everyone nodded solemnly, their faces showing serious expressions.

They had already heard some stories about the Southern Heavenly Region before arriving.

At the outskirts of the Southern Heavenly Region, there was a mysterious fog, making entry extremely difficult. Anyone entering the fog could easily be lured by strange illusions and then be killed by the monsters lurking nearby.

"If you are ready, follow me now!" Tang Wutian said as he glanced ahead and carefully chose a path, slowly flying into the mist.

"Keep up!" Yang Henwei shouted loudly.

The surrounding martial gods all followed one after another, not daring to be careless. After all, they had done their homework before coming here, and the Southern Heavenly Region was one of the ten most dangerous places in the Martial God Realm.

Lin San took a deep breath and followed them into the mist. He had to go in and find what he needed from the secret realm within. This was something he had to do, no matter the cost.

"What exactly is Lin San searching for?" Ye Fan wondered as he speculated silently.

Although he had been with Lin San for a while, Lin San rarely spoke about his intentions. Ye Fan didn't know what had happened to Lin San over the past few years, but one thing was clear—he had matured greatly compared to before.

Once inside the mist, everything around them turned into a hazy, white expanse. At that moment, streams of energy shot out from Tang Wutian's body, and each martial god found one of those energy threads tied to their hands.

"No matter what, hold onto the energy thread," Tang Wutian instructed. "When you encounter anything strange, do not panic."

As his words echoed, one of the energy threads wrapped around Lin San's left hand. He hesitated for a moment but then gripped the thread firmly, continuing to walk forward.

As they walked deeper, the surroundings began to feel eerie, and soon, the figures of those ahead disappeared into the fog. The only thing visible was the thick, white mist swirling around them.

"This is really strange," Ye Fan remarked, observing the scene.

Lin San held onto the energy thread, continuing to move forward cautiously.

Suddenly, a deafening roar echoed through the mist.

Lin San pressed forward, only to be met by the sight of a massive beast, its jaws wide open, baring rows of sharp teeth as it prepared to bite him.

Dodge! Move quickly!

Lin San's pupils contracted in alarm, and his body instinctively prepared to evade. But in the next moment, he stopped, held his breath, and continued walking forward, ignoring the terrifying beast.

As he walked, his body passed straight through the monster's open jaws without harm. The beast was just an illusion.

"So it's just an illusion," Lin San breathed a sigh of relief, realizing the truth.

Even so, the brief moment had been quite frightening.

"Damn, this feels like being in a horror movie," Lin San muttered, shaking his head.

As he walked further, more illusionary monsters appeared, but now that he knew they weren't real, Lin San no longer felt any fear. He simply treated them as non-existent and kept moving forward.

Soon, the dense mist began to dissipate, and the figures ahead became clearer.

"We've made it through," Tang Wutian said, dispersing the energy threads with a wave of his hand.

"Phew!" Several martial gods let out relieved sighs.

Everything they had just encountered had been a trial, a terrifying one at that.

"We're missing someone," one of the martial gods suddenly realized as he glanced around, noticing that someone was no longer with them.

Upon counting carefully, they found that, excluding Tang Wutian, there were only 29 people left. The original group had consisted of 30!

"Where's the missing person? Did they run off?" Some of the martial gods glanced around in confusion.

"There's no need to search," Tang Wutian said calmly. "Anyone who runs off in the fog loses their way and can never find their way out."

Hearing this, the expressions of the group changed drastically.

So they were doomed if they ran in the fog? Cold shivers ran down their spines as they realized how fortunate they were not to have panicked and run earlier.

"This is the Southern Heavenly Region. As long as you follow me, nothing will happen to you," Tang Wutian said as he began walking ahead again.

The other martial gods followed closely behind.

Lin San glanced around as they walked. He noticed the towering trees around them, growing thick and massive. The energy in the air here was far more concentrated than outside, making it a perfect place for cultivation.

However, it was also far too dangerous.

Roars echoed as they ventured further, and soon, they encountered several enormous creatures, each with a single large eye taking up most of their heads. These beasts were crawling on all fours, staring at Lin San and the others.

"One-eyed beasts, eight-star divine beasts," Tang Wutian said just as he summoned a wide-bladed sword into his hand.

As energy surged into the sword, it began to glow with a bright blue light.

With a swift swing of his sword, powerful waves of sword energy shot forward toward the creatures.

Shwoosh! Shwoosh! Shwoosh!

The terrifying blue sword energy instantly sliced the one-eyed beasts into several pieces.

It was a complete annihilation!

The surrounding martial gods were left in awe, their eyes filled with shock at the sheer power displayed.
