In the previous chapter: After defeating the second of the Water Land brothers and convincing him to abandon his sacrifice, Team 7 received the unexpected arrival of Omoi, who, gravely wounded, revealed that Deepa had killed Marui and Kakui. Before losing his strength, he warned them that this monstrous enemy was after Hashirama's cells.
Guided by the surviving shinobi, the group finally reached the last of the brothers. Although at first he believed his companion had died and was about to attack him, they managed to reunite and agreed to form a temporary alliance with the Konoha ninja to stop Deepa.
However, before they could organize, Deepa appeared and attacked without warning. Shortly after, Vikta appeared, revealing that they both belonged to the same organization and that Hashirama's cells were their true target. After separating Konohamaru and Mugino from the rest, Vikta left Deepa to face Team 7 and finish them off.
The battle was much tougher than expected. Deepa demonstrated the terrifying power of his Kekkei. Carbon Genkai , facing the teamwork of Saku, Sarada, and Mitsuki. The three managed to put him in trouble on several occasions: Sarada managed to wound him with her Chidori, Mitsuki released part of the power of his Sage Mode to break his defense, and Saku used powerful Wood Release techniques, including a huge Wood Dragon that forced Deepa to fight with all his might.
Even so, the battle ultimately turned in Deepa's favor. Exhaustion began to take its toll on Team 7, while the enemy revealed even more resilient forms of its carbon, overcoming each of their attacks. With Sarada the only one able to remain standing to protect her teammates, it seemed the mission was about to end in utter defeat.
As Deepa prepared to deliver the final blow and Vikta was ready to extract Hashirama's cells, a figure unexpectedly appeared on the battlefield. Without anyone noticing his presence, Boruto arrived just in time to save Team 7, assumed command of the mission on Konoha's orders, and calmly advanced to confront Vikta and Deepa, marking the beginning of a new confrontation.
At this moment, Boruto can be seen telling Konohamaru to look after Team 7. Then he turns to Vikta and Deepa and begins walking in their direction. Each step is calm and steady, until he stops a few meters away from them.
Moments before all that, in another part of the world, where the snow kept falling, Boruto stood in front of a small cabin.
Around him was a circle of earth that the snow couldn't quite cover. In the center stood Boruto, shirtless and with his eyes closed, completely focused, while the gravity seals were visible on his body.
Boruto took a breath.

At that moment, small flames began to appear on his body. They emerged from his skin and re-entered it repeatedly, while a fine vapor rose around him and the seals remained intact. Boruto slowly opened his eyes and, feeling the flow of chakra coursing through his body, a faint smile appeared on his face.

He looked down at the marks on his body and remained silent for a few moments, thinking.
"The original function of these seals was to increase gravity. Once they are broken, they can no longer be reused, because a burst of chakra completely destroys their structure. They are only useful once."
He slowly moved his arms as the small flames continued to travel through his body without disturbing the seals.
"But this time I found another use for them. If I control my chakra precisely and avoid releasing it abruptly, the seals won't break. This way I can keep them active for longer and use them to refine chakra control in both the first and second cores."

But that moment of tranquility only lasted a few seconds, because from the mental space Momoshhiki's voice was heard again in its usual lazy tone.

Boruto closed his eyes again and, in the next instant, appeared in his mind's space sitting on Karasugan's head. Without bothering to turn around completely, he glanced sideways at Momoshiki and replied calmly.

Meanwhile, Boruto slowly lowered his leg. But at that very moment, Deepa appeared behind him and threw a furious punch. Instantly, the Rasengan expanded abruptly and the two rings shot far beyond the treetops, also plunging into the ground and causing a powerful roar.

An instant later, the energy sphere at the center collapsed upon itself and exploded, releasing a violent blast of wind that transformed into countless blades of air capable of destroying everything in its path.

The blades swept across the area in all directions. Nearby trees were torn to shreds, enormous rocks were reduced to rubble, and a gigantic cloud of dust completely covered the battlefield.
The energy rings lost their force and stopped abruptly before vanishing into thin air. At the same time, the giant shuriken stopped spinning, fell to the ground, and disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Boruto calmly observed the result.
"It's not bad. It's not a Rasengan strong enough to take on very high-level enemies, but against opponents of this level, it's more than enough. This fight was perfect for testing it. I still have other Rasengans I haven't used... I'll try them out when the time comes."

Deepa immediately approached him. Then, Vikta placed a hand on the ground, slowly sat up, and, once standing, looked around. The landscape had completely changed. Much of the forest had disappeared, and the battlefield was now much wider.
Finally, he turned his gaze towards Boruto and spoke in disbelief.
—You... who are you?
Boruto watched him lazily and began to walk slowly toward them. However, the next instant he disappeared in a flash and reappeared in front of Vikta, throwing a kick straight at his face.

The temperature in the area rose dramatically. The trees began to burn and, just moments later, were reduced to ashes as the tide of fire continued to spread relentlessly, reaching a height more than three times that of the trees.
Vikta, who was running at full speed through the branches, felt an intense heat on her back. When she turned around, she opened her eyes in horror to see a gigantic avalanche of fire approaching, devouring everything in its path.
He gritted his teeth and increased his speed even more, but the fire was still slowly catching up with him. Desperate, he began shaking Deepa to wake him up. After several attempts, Deepa slowly opened his eyes and looked at Vikta. He quickly pointed behind him.
Seeing the immense wall of fire approaching, Deepa raised her single arm and conjured dozens of cubes that, in an instant, coalesced to form a massive barrier in front of them. Without breaking stride, they both continued fleeing at full speed. However, it was too late.
The avalanche of fire hit them full force and violently propelled them forward. The barrier began to melt from the intense heat as they were both dragged along and crashed to the ground.
Vikta reacted immediately, performed several hand seals, and struck the ground.
Instantly, a tunnel opened beneath their feet. Seizing the last moment before the barrier completely dissolved, Vikta and Deepa leaped into the tunnel and escaped underground.
