Chapter 256 - New Hire?

Jane didn't know what to do with Jasmine because she had never taken care of a child before, but Jasmine was looking after herself.

However, Jane knew that this kid must have been through something traumatic—it wasn't hard to tell with a single look after all.

Those were not the eyes a child should have, but Jane also knew a child was fragile. She couldn't trigger her fight-or-flight response.

This was why she treated Jasmine as she would any other child, but Jasmine wasn't responding like a normal child would.

"I want to see brother," Jasmine muttered, pouting as she wasn't responding to Jane or her instructions.

This was the first glimpse of Jasmine as a child, as she wouldn't always be agreeable, but Jane knew it was important to remain calm.

She couldn't show Jasmine she was getting to her either, and this was why raising a kid wasn't for the weak.
