Mumei smiled brilliantly. "I understand!"
Shinji rolled up Mumei's sleeve, preparing to draw some blood to analyze its components.
Mumei was very cooperative, pursing her lips and staying silent as Shinji drew a vial of blood.
After drawing the blood, Shinji disinfected the needle mark on her arm and pointed to the intricate seals carved across it, asking, "What are these?"
Mumei followed his gaze to the seals etched on both her arms and said softly, "These are the dojutsu the clan implanted into my body."
"What!?"
Shinji froze slightly.
Mumei explained, "After the clan discovered my 'Yachihoko,' they deemed my dojutsu power insufficient to fully unleash its potential. So, to enhance my power, they forcibly implanted 'Amaterasu' and 'Tsukuyomi' into my body using these seals."
Mumei spoke slowly, her expression darkening, clearly reluctant to recall that painful memory.
It sounded simple, but only Mumei herself knew how excruciating the process of implanting dojutsu had been!
Shinji was visibly shocked.
He knew the Uchiha clan had a technique called 'Transcription Seal' that could seal one's dojutsu into another's Sharingan.
But he hadn't expected that, beyond the 'Transcription Seal,' the Uchiha clan also possessed a method to implant dojutsu into someone's body using seals.
Amid his shock, Shinji began closely examining the seals on Mumei's arms. Gradually, his shock turned to anger.
"They were utterly insane!"
Shinji was barely containing his fury.
After hearing Mumei's explanation and combining it with his advanced medical ninjutsu expertise and considerable knowledge of sealing techniques, he quickly pieced together what the Uchiha clan had done to her.
This method wasn't so much 'implanting' 'Amaterasu' and 'Tsukuyomi' into Mumei's body as it was 'forcing' them into her.
The technique was so crude that it caused irreparable damage to her body.
If it had been anyone else, nine out of ten would have died outright. Fortunately, Mumei's awakened dojutsu, 'Yachihoko,' was so hegemonic that it barely withstood the implanted 'Amaterasu' and 'Tsukuyomi.'
Even so, the Uchiha clan's attempt to enhance Mumei's dojutsu power through this implantation clearly failed.
This method couldn't possibly increase her power; instead, it placed an unnecessary burden on her body.
After all, no Mangekyo dojutsu could be easily endured by anyone below the Six Paths level.
Shinji touched the seals and asked, "Does it hurt?"
Mumei shook her head. "It stopped hurting long ago!"
Shinji scoffed, "This implantation method is too rough, too primitive. Even a lunatic like Danzo wouldn't use something this crude!"
Mumei asked curiously, "Who's Danzo?"
"Another lunatic!" Shinji paused before adding, "He's the one who wiped out the Uchiha clan. Only two of us, including me, survived by chance."
Mumei looked at Shinji, unsure of what to say.
She truly hated the Uchiha clan, but hearing they had been eradicated didn't bring her the joy of revenge. Instead, it left a bitter taste.
Shinji changed the subject, avoiding the topic of the clan's destruction, and asked, "So, can you use 'Amaterasu' and 'Tsukuyomi' now?"
"Mm!"
Mumei nodded lightly.
"It seems, in a way, this implantation was somewhat successful!"
With that, Shinji went to the equipment room and retrieved a roll of specially made bandages. He soaked them in a nutrient solution for a full ten minutes until they absorbed it completely, then carefully took them out and began wrapping Mumei's arms.
Seeing Shinji's seriousness, Mumei asked, "Shinji, what's this for?"
"Every Mangekyo dojutsu is a reflection of that Uchiha's heart, their thoughts, their obsessions! So, dojutsu can't simply be implanted this way. Not only will it fail to serve you, but it will also continuously erode your body and even your mind!"
Shinji's hands kept moving, wrapping the special bandages around Mumei's arms.
"Fortunately, you were sealed shortly after the implantation and didn't use them frequently, so the damage to your body is still quite limited!"
After fully bandaging the seals on Mumei's arms and checking them once more, Shinji sighed in relief.
Mumei, realizing the gravity, said, "It was that dangerous?"
Shinji explained, "The clan likely realized this later and developed another method for implanting dojutsu, called the 'Transcription Seal'!"
Mumei touched the bandages on her arms and let out a sigh.
Having been indoctrinated with the clan's extreme ideology and treated as a weapon her entire life, Mumei felt a deep sense of grievance and frustration upon realizing that most of what the clan did to her was futile.
Shinji, noticing her expression, knew she was struggling with this revelation and said, "Don't be sad. This is no problem for me!"
Mumei forced a small smile. "Shinji, how do you seem to know everything?"
"It's not 'seem'—I really do know everything!" Shinji chuckled. "An eight-year-old orphan who couldn't quickly learn to protect himself and master various skills wouldn't have survived this long!"
Thinking of Shinji's experiences, Mumei sighed. "Shinji, I didn't realize your life was so tough too!"
"Tough?" Shinji shook his head with a smile. "That's nothing!"
He nearly mentioned the 'Lampbearer' matter to Mumei but thought better of it. She had just been freed from her seal and hadn't yet tasted freedom. Telling her now that the shinobi world was in crisis and could collapse at any moment felt too cruel.
So, Shinji said, "I've checked your chakra. Your chakra level far surpasses that of an average Mangekyo Uchiha, likely due to 'Yachihoko's' abilities! That's why you've been able to maintain your current state and keep your body functioning. But this balance is fragile, so until I fully stabilize your body, you'd better avoid using your Sharingan abilities."
Mumei nodded.
After a lifetime of being treated as a weapon, she knew Shinji was genuinely looking out for her. Though his tone carried a hint of command, she didn't resist at all. Instead, she cherished the feeling of being cared for.
