Helanie:
The minute my tail began to flap around in the water, showing its glowing color and probably capturing guests' attention, someone yelled,
"Oh my Goddess, that is a mermaid!"
My heart started to sink in my chest, but there was so much going on that I couldn't focus on one thing.
And then somebody jumped in.
Swimming toward me was Norman. He came like a bullet, wrapped his arm around my back, and pulled me up with him. He helped me out of the water and then placed me down. His brothers were already standing behind me, all three of them, to block the view, but I could hear the chattering and complaints in the distance. The council members were expressing their shock and disgust too. Everyone was worried about what I was, what kind of monster they had sheltered.
I closed my eyes while Norman hugged me. He then carried me inside the mansion.
"You're not going to take that thing into the house, are you?"
