Searching for the Sphinx

Rachel and the others walked along a path directly below one of the covered bridges in the abyss. The terrain of the abyss was highly varied. In this area it was a strange spongy rock that rose and fell in low gently sloping hills.

They had already traversed three fairly large groups of hills in their trek. Rachel chose to walk to the Sphinx to allow the highly intelligent creatures an opportunity to sense them in the hopes that they would not be seen as a threat to them. She also wanted Trinn and her nephews to get a feel for the abyss.

Although they were walking at the lowest level of the abyss it still exerted an odd force on all of them. This was due to the specific area of the abyss. This area was saturated with magic and it pulsed rhythmically and this rhythmic pulsing was what caused them to feel pressure. It was the rhythmic pulse of pure magic and mingled intent.
