Chapter 247 - Between the battlefield (Part 1)

The sleeping bag rustled and woke Valery from her reverie. She looked at him for a moment with a smile.

"If Victor hasn't taken the initiative to declare his feelings by the end of this trip, then I'll make him take responsibility for my waiting," Valery thought as she picked up the spoon again and stirred the rice, scraping it off the bottom of the pot.

Just like the day before, Victor woke up to the smell of freshly cooked rice, but with that burnt smell that would remain in his nose forever. That would be the smell that would accompany Victor's breakfast throughout the trip, and he would learn to love that slightly burnt smell in the rice.

Victor, just like yesterday, took the hot rice and placed it on his lap, careful not to burn himself. Not only that, but Victor's gaze was much more cautious. This time, he smelled the rice several times, afraid of getting sick again. If at any moment his nose twitched with fear, he would not dare to eat what Valery had made.
