S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters.
"Heads up—he's loose!"
Nick Fury's voice crackled through the agents' earpieces. Outside, the high-rise's outer wall shattered under a terrifying force, and a green beast leapt from the breach.
In midair, the green monster flailed and roared, its confused, dazed eyes quickly turning to panic as the weightlessness of free fall set in.
"ROAR!!"
BOOM!!
The next moment, the green beast crashed onto the helipad outside the building, landing with a thud. The concrete beneath its feet spiderwebbed with cracks.
Shards of debris sprayed outward, pinging off nearby helicopters in a relentless clatter.
"Roar?"
The green beast glanced down at the fractured ground, its initial fear fading.
In its place sparked a flicker of curiosity—and a itch to test itself.
Instinct told it to figure out its place in the food chain through combat and chaos.
Its eyes gleamed with aggression as it grabbed the tail of a nearby chopper.
"ROAR!!"
With a bellow, it hefted the multi-ton helicopter like a toy and hurled it at the agents rushing toward it.
"No—scatter!"
The massive chopper hurtled down. Agent Hill's face paled as she shouted for her team to dodge.
BOOM~~
CRACK-CRACK-CRACK
Agents hit the deck as the helicopter sailed over them, leaving a trail of wreckage.
BANG!!
It slammed into another chopper, twisting both into mangled scrap.
"Shi— That thing's strength rivals Spider-Man's!"
Coulson arrived just in time to witness it, his expression grim as he tapped his earpiece.
"Commander, we've located him. His power's off the charts—our weapons don't even scratch him."
"Phil, you haven't fired a shot, have you?" Nick Fury replied.
Coulson went quiet.
Above, a helicopter swooped in.
"Nick, that's Dr. Banner. Cut them some slack," Natasha said.
A regular pushover gets stepped on, but an honest guy with eight PhDs earns respect.
Nearby, Barton swapped out his trick arrows for standard ones.
He took aim at the rampaging green giant below, coolly saying, "Let's test his durability. Don't worry—I won't kill him."
The arrow whistled free, striking the Hulk's leg a second later.
Thud~
It bounced off and hit the ground. The Hulk scratched his thigh like he'd been nipped by a mosquito, glancing around.
What was that?
Barton frowned.
"Natasha, relax. With that toughness, even a missile wouldn't faze him."
"You're relaxed—I'm not," Fury said from the command room, taking a deep breath.
"I never thought Banner's experiment going south would spiral this bad. This monster's birth could doom us all."
Natasha shook her head. "Commander, we shouldn't have piled so much on Dr. Banner. If he'd gotten proper rest, his experiment wouldn't have failed, and he wouldn't have been zapped by gamma rays into… that."
Barton leaned in, muttering, "You've got a full plate too."
Natasha: "…"
"Crap—he's locked onto us!"
The pilot yelped, yanking the controls. The chopper tilted sharply, narrowly dodging a boulder the Hulk lobbed their way.
"Where'd that rock come from?" Barton asked, still rattled.
"He dug it up himself."
A green streak zipped through the sky—Harry Osborn, riding his Goblin Glider, zoomed onto the scene.
"Oh my God, we're rocking the same color scheme!"
He dove in, unloading a barrage of pumpkin bombs.
BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!!
The helipad erupted in flames, the blasts swallowing the green figure.
"ROAR!"
But with a beastly bellow, the Hulk leapt skyward, bursting through the fire.
"Shi— How's he jumping that high?!"
Harry jolted, jerking the glider upward to evade.
BANG!
The Hulk slammed back to earth, grinning down at his legs in delight.
Clearly, even he hadn't expected that kind of airtime.
Watching the agents cower, too scared to approach, the last of his unease melted away.
He was certain now.
He was the top of the food chain!
He could do whatever he damn well pleased!
"ROAR!!"
Thrilled, he stomped the ground and leapt again—hundreds of feet in one bound.
And that wasn't even his limit; he was still getting the hang of his strength.
As the Hulk bounded toward the city, Agent Hill's face darkened.
She could picture the havoc this freak would wreak downtown.
"Commander, what now?"
Fury gritted his teeth. "Phil, get Tony Stark. Whatever he wants, we'll give it."
Coulson nodded, dialing Tony fast.
The chopper above chased after the Hulk.
Natasha watched the green blur, worry etched on her face.
"If only Captain Carter were here."
Barton shook his head. "Word from the Carter family—she's badly hurt. No way she's fighting this thing anytime soon."
"He's not a thing—he's Banner."
"Fine, he's Banner. My bad."
Barton packed up his quiver. "Even if Captain Carter weren't injured, she'd be no match for him. You know there's only one guy who can take him down."
"I know. Only Spider-Man can stop a rampaging Dr. Banner," Natasha said, tracking the Hulk's movements with fading hope.
"But we've got no clue when Spider-Man's coming back. His revivals are totally random."
Right then, Agent Sitwell's panicked voice blasted through every earpiece.
"Spider-Man's back! He killed our agents!"
"What?!"
Shock hit first, then elation.
"Awesome—Spider-Man's alive! He can take that monster down!"
"Wait, what'd he say? Spider-Man killed our people?"
"No way! He's Captain Carter's buddy—we patched things up. He wouldn't do that!"
"Unless… the gamma rays got him too?"
"Could be. Spider-Man's body was in Banner's lab. If Banner turned into a monster from the rays, maybe Spider-Man's revival got twisted by them too…"
The agents buzzed with theories, and answers came quick.
The Lab.
BOOM!!
A gene disruptor detonated, light flaring.
In an instant, razor-sharp fragments laced with the disruptor tore through the lab, trashing every piece of equipment.
Mixed in with the shards were slivers of vibranium, slicing through Charlie's nano-suit. The disruptor seeped into the cuts.
But as faint purple veins spread from the wounds, a soft violet glow shimmered. The perfect fusion of Spider-Man's physiology and Titan Body Stage 2 transformed his frame entirely.
