Chapter 260 - Ch.260 Anti-Thor Armor, But Not Anti-Spiderman

"Sizzle~"

In the night sky, crimson beams swept back and forth, the courtyard walls glowing red under the high-heat cuts before slowly collapsing.

The Spider-Men dodged frantically, but their sheer numbers caused chaos. Even with spider-sense, avoiding collisions was tough.

"Oh, crap, move!"

"I moved—oh no!"

A Spider-Man dodged a collision only to be hit by another, both crashing to the ground. A crimson beam swept through, slicing the red-and-blue figures in half.

"No, so terrifying!!"

A Spider-Man, hands on his face, screamed as the relentless beam passed, his head rolling.

"Dodge!"

"No, I can't!"

"When does his power run out?"

"I don't know, don't ask me!"

"Hold him off, I'm almost there!"

"No, you hold him, I'll get close!"

Amid the shouts, the crimson beam stopped, thrilling the Spider-Men.

"Great, he's out of energy!"

"Now!"

"Swish~"

Red-and-blue figures rushed forward, fists swinging without mercy, unlike when fighting villains.

For Aunt May's Smile, they gave everything!

"Boom!!"

Air exploded as fists with tens of tons of force rained down. Charlie stood fearless.

With a force field, his punch warped the air, detonating like a cannon.

"Rumble!!"

"Crack~"

"Pfft pfft pfft~"

Spider-Men charging Charlie shattered bones, flying back, spitting blood mixed with gruesome organ fragments, horrifying all.

"Bang bang bang"

They crashed hundreds of meters away, smashing holes in buildings, motionless.

One punch froze the remaining Spider-Men, their spider-senses screaming, instinctual fear forcing them back, faces pale.

"How's that possible?"

"Such terrifying power!"

"Peter was right, he's too strong. No one can match him."

"What a monster, how could he ever die?"

"Who could kill him?"

"Damn it, everyone, together! Resurrection Matches shouldn't have such an overpowered contestant. It's unfair!!"

"Charge!"

"For Aunt May's Smile!!"

"For Aunt May!"

Suppressing fear, the Spider-Men rallied, rushing Charlie with unprecedented strength.

As if breaking limits, unlocking Spider-Man potential.

"Boom!!"

A red-and-blue figure threw the first punch.

Though Charlie dismissed the attack, his gaze grew serious.

An ordinary Spider-Man, barely dodging his beams earlier, with average speed, strength, and spider-sense.

Yet now, this battered Spider-Man unleashed power far beyond normal.

A Spider-Man overcoming fear seemed to break a seal.

"Superheroes are this idealistic?" Charlie muttered, throwing a punch.

"Bang!!"

Fists collided, whipping up a gale. The opponent's fist cracked under strain but blocked Charlie's "normal punch."

No one could maintain peak power constantly.

"Hm?"

Surprised, Charlie increased his force, sending the Spider-Man screaming and crashing.

Figures swarmed, Spider-Men coordinating webs to bind Charlie's limbs while others attacked.

"Charlie Parker, this time I'll win!!"

Venom Parker leaped, his black-liquid arm morphing into a forty-meter blade, slashing down.

"Boom!!"

The violent gust roared. Charlie clapped his palms, catching the massive blade.

More figures closed in, hundred-ton fists slamming Charlie.

"Clang!!"

The blows rang like metal, but Charlie stood unmoved, while the Spider-Men staggered, grunting.

Their attacks couldn't harm him.

"Crack!"

Charlie's palms crushed the blade, fragments scattering.

"Swish swish…"

"Pfft pfft pfft"

Shards sliced through, blood spraying, Spider-Men collapsing in screams.

"How…"

Venom Parker watched in despair, stumbling.

"Is he even Spider-Man?"

Despair spread. Venom Parker clenched his fists, unwilling to fail.

He'd never craved a Resurrection Match win this badly.

His first, maybe his last.

Charlie Parker was an unclimbable mountain, its peak out of sight.

It crushed his breath, his last shred of resistance.

But…

He had no choice.

Becoming a hero cost him family, friends, love.

He had nothing left to lose.

He even lost his hero status, becoming a self-exiled monster.

He thanked Charlie for waking him.

He'd never forget, waking from Venom, seeing Charlie grab his hand, pulling him free.

Those eyes… determined, confident, victorious!

Like the old him.

Like Spider-Man.

That resolve infected him.

He stopped yielding to his broken heart.

He wanted to be himself.

But the desire wasn't strong.

Until he met Gwen again, another universe's Gwen.

Not his, another Spider-Man's Gwen.

That time, his need to protect rekindled.

Now, it boiled over.

Sever Aunt May's fatal tie to Spider-Man, end her doomed fate.

Winning the Resurrection Match would save her.

He didn't know if he was right.

Didn't matter. He believed it, so it was true.

His only chance.

Venom Parker gritted his teeth, his stumbling steps firming.

Step by step.

He faced the invincible Charlie Parker!

"We've risked our lives for others."

Venom Parker's pace quickened.

"This time, we should be selfish."

Behind him, a Spider-Man staggered up, dislocated arm dangling, following.

"Yeah, selfish," he said, eyes resolute.

More Spider-Men rose, injured.

"For our family."

"For Aunt May."

"We'd give up everything."

"Even if it's Spider-Man."

"We'll fight with all we've got."

"I want to see Aunt May, my Aunt May."

"I want her alive, so badly. I'd do anything."

"I want her nagging in my ear again. Heh, nobody knows Spider-Man's chatter comes from Aunt May."

"I want her burnt toast."

"It's been three years since she last hit me."

"Four for me."

"You're lucky. She never hit me, just made me clean the bathroom."

"So I'm abandoning superhero principles."

"If being a hero means losing Aunt May, I'd rather not be Spider-Man."

"Should've done this sooner."

The Spider-Men gathered, marching toward Charlie.

Their steps quickened, breaking into a run.

They weren't Spider-Men anymore.

Just people, selfishly hurting others for family.

Charlie watched, taking a deep breath.

"Getting serious again, huh?"

His pale blue eyes deepened, muscles swelling, stored stellar energy boiling.

In the ruined courtyard under the night sky, Charlie faced the horde alone, his body radiating blinding light.

Magic Spider!

Arc Spider!

Time Spider!

Three forms merged, Charlie erupting in unprecedented starlight.

"You should've done this sooner!!"

With a roar, both sides charged.

"Sizzle~"

"Rumble!!"

The ruins shook, figures flung skyward in flashes.

Golden light flared, thunder rolling as Thor Spider-Man joined, wielding Mjolnir.

"For Aunt May!!"

"Rumble!!"

Lightning cracked, more Spider-Men arrived, escalating the battle.

"Boom!!"

"Sizzle~"

Crimson beams swept, limbs falling, blood staining Charlie's suit and the ground.

Spider-Men at full potential were terrifying.

A happy Spider-Man struggled against Green Goblin, but in despair, they could lift a building.

A rare multiversal case.

Now, limit-breaking Spider-Men were plentiful.

Yet Charlie's strength crushed them.

"Buzz~"

"Rumble!!"

A giant Spider-Man stomped, crushing bodies.

Half-torsos littered the ruins.

Venom Parker, buried in debris, saw the carnage, his narrow eyes hesitating, then turning cold.

"Abandon being a hero, fall completely!!"

Trembling, he reached for a corpse.

"Buddy, eat him, gain more power. We must win!!"

"Cackle cackle, Peter, we're finally one!"

Venom's demonic face grinned, biting into a Spider-Man's head, savoring the unique taste.

Venom Parker's eyes reddened, "More, eat more Spider-Men!!"

His screams fueled Venom's frenzy.

It devoured head after head, symbiote cells converting into vast power.

It was stuffed, but Venom Parker rarely allowed this. It wouldn't stop.

"Eat! Eat! Eat!!"

"Hahaha, power! Power!"

Venom Parker laughed, his body swelling, amassing countless Spider-Men's strength.

He gained power, losing his humanity.

His first time letting Venom consume humans.

Blood tears streamed from his white eyes, his black form turning blood-red.

He ascended.

"Charlie Parker!!"

Blood-red Venom Parker roared, becoming a cannonball, slamming the giant Spider-Man.

"Boom!!"

The hit struck Charlie's chest, staggering him, pain searing.

Looking down, blood-red Venom Parker's blade pierced his body.

"What?"

Shocked, Charlie barely reacted as Ant-Man Spider-Man's giant ants swarmed. He canceled the Pym Particles.

"Buzz~"

Shrinking, Charlie kicked Venom Parker away, only to be blasted down by Thor Spider-Man's shattered armor.

"Pfft pfft pfft"

Before the Spider-Men could pounce, blood-red tendrils erupted from the pit, piercing bodies mercilessly.

The Spider-Man battle grew bloodier.

On a distant rooftop, a white-haired man faced a canvas, pityingly painting the blood-red world.

His brush paused, tempted to stop.

Finally, he dropped it, red paint staining the ground.

Closing his eyes, images of Spider-Men killing each other lingered.

Haunting, heartbreaking.

But this was their fate.

Unavoidable, inescapable.

Unable to resist, yet struggling.

Ending in tragedy.

Roars and cries of fate pierced his heart.

He could only watch.

The worst kind of audience.

Opening his eyes, the old man left, sighing.

"My children, you shouldn't be like this."

"You shouldn't be like this!!"

In the bloody battlefield, a tearful voice froze all Spider-Men, halting them.

"It's… Aunt May."

"No, this world's Aunt May."

"But that voice is so familiar."

"I see her, she's crying."

"Why? Why cry? I'm trying to keep you alive."

All Spider-Men looked at the frail Aunt May.

Including Charlie.

But she couldn't tell.

She couldn't pick out her Peter.

Stumbling, clutching her bleeding chest, she approached.

"You shouldn't be like this."

Tears in her eyes, she scanned the Spider-Men.

"I know you're doing this for me, to keep me alive.

But, children, this isn't a reason to fight.

Spider-Men shouldn't punch Spider-Men but save those in need.

If my death ends this, I'd rather…"

"No!!"

Before she finished, Spider-Men shouted, rushing to her.

Golden light flashed, Charlie snatching the revolver from her hand.

"Who gave you this?" His gaze turned cold.

Aunt May looked at the taken weapon, smiling kindly.

"Stop fighting, Peter, my child."

Her smile faded, her body collapsing.

She chose death to protect her Peter and all Spider-Men.

She didn't know how devastating her death was to them.

"No!!"

Spider-Men knelt, despairing.

Aunt May was dead.

Their hope shattered.

Why?

Why like this?

Charlie wanted to know who gave her the weapon, who killed her with unknown means.

Was it the same person who sent these Spider-Men here?

With these mysteries, Charlie saw the mission failure prompt and returned to the Spider-Verse.

[You have been eliminated, unable to obtain a resurrection slot. Reward: High-Heat Web Ball +299°C.]

[Remaining 82 retries. Restart?]

Ninth Resurrection Match.

Charlie didn't act immediately.

He hid among the Spider-Men "family," letting Sorcerer Spider-Man and Thor Spider-Man fight over Aunt May's fate.

"Rumble!!"

Currents flooded the room. With Charlie's help, Venom Parker reached the room, narrowly preventing Aunt May's accidental death.

"You almost killed her!" Venom Parker shouted.

Sorcerer Spider-Man and Thor Spider-Man realized their mistake, sweating.

"Damn!"

"Get out!!"

Thor Spider-Man charged Venom Parker, Mjolnir smashing, sending him flying.

But Venom Parker smiled.

Upon entering, his symbiote cells had entered Aunt May.

She was saved.

He won!

"Whoosh~"

On the bed, symbiote cells split, black liquid covering Aunt May, seeping into her heart's wound.

In Peter Parker and Mary Jane's excited gazes, the wound closed miraculously, scar-free.

Some rejoiced, others grieved.

Thor Spider-Man knelt, sobbing, "No!! I lost, I lost!!"

"Oh no!"

Sorcerer Spider-Man wailed, "I, the Sorcerer Supreme, lost to a filthy symbiote? Impossible!!"

Spider-Men flooded the room, seeing the black liquid and understanding.

Spider-Men knew symbiotes best.

With the symbiote in Aunt May, she'd live.

All thanks to the unkillable Venom Parker, who called Charlie a pest.

They looked at him in a wall crater, disappointment clear.

"Peter, you won."

"Congrats, your Aunt May will live."

Spider-Men clutched their faces, sobbing.

But Venom Parker felt no victory.

No success prompt came.

The mission wasn't done; the bullet wasn't Aunt May's true crisis!

He grew anxious.

Other Spider-Men noticed.

"Huh? We're still here. Do we wait for the mission to end?"

"No, look at his face."

Muscle Spider-Man pointed at Venom Parker, excited, "He's done this before. He knows what victory looks like.

But he's not acting like a winner, so he hasn't finished!"

Hope reignited.

"That's it!"

"We've got a chance!"

"The bullet isn't her crisis."

"Then we guard her, let no one near."

"Let's see who dares harm her with us here."

"Oh ho, with Spider-Men, no fear!"

They crammed the room.

Charlie, watching, stroked his chin.

"This should work."

Lizard Parker peeked, then ducked back.

"The bullet's not her crisis. No wonder you're calm—you knew."

He sighed at Charlie's composure.

"Worthy of you, your powers are terrifying.

With Old Cap gone, don't worry, I'm tactful. I won't blab your power is sensing—"

Charlie stuffed a cloth in his mouth, glaring.

"You smell death already."

Lizard Parker nodded, pulling out the cloth.

"Death smells sweet?" He held it, confused.

"Of course, it's the unwashed underwear of the diabetic next door."

"What!!!"

Lizard Parker tossed it, retching against the wall.

"Retch~ Bastard, you jerk—retch~ I'll—retch~ fight you—retch~~~"

Charlie kicked the underwear aside, tapped his spider emblem, retracting his nano-suit, and approached Muscle Spider-Man, patting his shoulder.

"Hey, I'm Peter, nice to meet you."

Charlie's harmless look disarmed others.

Especially Peter Parkers, quick to trust.

Especially a "Peter."

Muscle Spider-Man, curious, removed his mask.

"Peter, you don't look like me."

Charlie's mouth twitched at the beefy face.

He pointed at retching Lizard Parker, "He's Peter too, doesn't look like you either."

Muscle Peter mused, "Same name, same fate, different faces. That's the multiverse, got it."

Seeing his seriousness, Charlie grinned.

"Yeah, but there's a Spider-Man named Charlie Parker. He's probably handsomer than us Peters."

"Why?"

"He's first on the contestant list."

Muscle Peter: "."

Speaking of the list, he remembered something.

"The list has Uncle Bens and Aunt Mays. Seen them?" he asked.

Charlie shook his head, "Nope, maybe they're not into Aunt May's Smile."

"Possible. My Uncle Ben always fought with Aunt May, avoiding her. Why compete for her smile?" Muscle Peter nodded.

They chatted, then Charlie got to the point.

"How'd you die?" he asked.

Muscle Peter swallowed, excited.

"That night at the bar, I met a beautiful lady. Love at first sight, deep feelings, unstoppable. We chatted, went to a hotel.

She paid."

He savored the memory. Charlie cut in, face dark.

"Then?"

Muscle Peter grew more excited, "I found her secret—she's a vampire."

"Vampire?"

Charlie's eyes narrowed, "Pale face, red lips, wavy hair, and you felt drained near her?"

Muscle Peter nodded, "How'd you know?"

"I killed her."

"What? You killed her!!" Muscle Peter grabbed Charlie's collar, furious.

Charlie's brow twitched, "Didn't finish her."

"Oh, thank God, my goddess is fine." Muscle Peter prayed.

Charlie: "."

"So you… died of pleasure?" he probed.

Muscle Peter shook his head, regretful.

"I was about to when I fell asleep. Such a shame."

"Died, you mean?" Charlie corrected.

Muscle Peter laughed awkwardly.

"Haha, probably."

He gasped, "Damn, if an enemy ambushed me, they might hurt my goddess.

Oh no! God, I hope she's okay, or I'll feel guilty forever."

Seeing him, Charlie shook his head.

Was the Morlun family's Reina that charming?

Next time, he'd test her himself.

He comforted Muscle Peter, then approached another Spider-Man.

"Hey, I'm Peter, nice to meet you."

"Hi, I'm Peter too. Live in Queens?"

"Yeah, but I bought my own place."

"Oh, crap, I don't wanna talk to you."

"Fine, if you want home reno tips, find me."

"Get lost!!"

Time passed. Charlie questioned many Spider-Men.

Most died to the Morlun family's claws, brutally.

With their "attitude" toward him, they might've survived.

Without protagonist auras, they died to Inheritors, yet in the Resurrection Match, they unlocked Spider-Man potential, far beyond normal.

Blatant targeting of Charlie!

He was furious!

His own "small universe" never erupted.

"Hey, guys, you're surrounded. Surrender now."

Drones flooded the hospital, infrared targeting every Spider-Man.

"It's Mr. Stark!"

Peter Parker rushed to a drone, "Mr. Stark, they're Spider-Men, don't—"

Before he finished, hot-tempered Thor Spider-Man smashed a drone with Mjolnir.

"This Iron Man's worse."

He strode to the window, shouting at the Mark armor, "Three seconds to vanish, or I'll smash your turtle shell!"

"What a rude guy."

Tony smirked, firing an arc pulse.

"Bang!"

Thor Spider-Man blocked with Mjolnir, gritting, "You asked for it!"

He swung Mjolnir, leaping out.

"Rumble!!"

Thunder cracked. Tony dodged the hammer.

"Good thing I finished the Anti-Thor Armor."

Arcs shot from the sky, purple plating merging with his red-gold armor, crackling with a special magnetic field.

"Sizzle~"

Mjolnir struck again, but the armor's repulsion deflected it, the hammer missing.

"What?"

Thor Spider-Man, shocked, recalled Mjolnir, swinging repeatedly.

"Boom~"

"Haha, can't hit me."

"Impossible!!"

Thor Spider-Man summoned lightning for a barrage, but Tony's armor absorbed it, converting it.

The Anti-Thor Armor unleashed a fiercer arc, sweeping the sky.

"No~"

Thor Spider-Man crashed into a building. Spider-Men whispered.

"Using magnetism to repel Mjolnir, he can't hit Stark."

"Yeah, and it absorbs lightning. Stark's firepower grows, completely countering him."

"Worthy of Anti-Thor Armor."

Charlie mused, then spoke.

"Everyone knows Iron Man's anti-armor series gets beaten by its target."

Silence fell.

They thought it over—it was true.

Sure enough, lightning burst from the building. Thor Spider-Man returned, Mjolnir's arcs forming Spider-Man's webs.

Thunder Webs!

He remembered.

He was Spider-Man!
