Just because the eye doesn't shed tears,
Doesn't mean it's okay.
It's sad in ways words cannot fathom,
It's stuck in a place—
It can no longer leave, no longer stay,
Just breathe in agony and pain.
It wants to believe it can be free,
But the dogmatic world doesn't allow it,
Doesn't allow it to forget, to move forward.
For the cycle of life isn't going up,
Still, it smiles—or tries to do so.
It is broken, shattered, dismembered,
In pieces too small to observe,
Too late to fix.
It wants to cry, it wants to scream,
Or better yet, die in a dream.
