Chapter 2 - 2

In front of a small hospital bed stood Peter with his awake daughter. After he nervously explained everything to her, she accepted. She said that in her dream, she had a sister named Leah, and they played together along with other sisters.

His little daughter was overjoyed to have a sister, and even he caught her happiness.

Today was supposed to be his first day working as a teacher, but he spoke to the principal about it, and the man took it very well. He also talked to him about his other daughter, whom he planned to enroll in the school where he would be working. After all, he couldn't take one of his daughters and leave the other at home. After informing the principal about registering his daughter, whom he named Leah Parker, the principal simply asked for the necessary paperwork and said he would take care of the rest.

After speaking with the principal, I found myself in a strange state. Never in my life had I had such good luck—I'd always had "Parker Luck" hanging over me. This was the first time something had gone so well for me.

I guess quitting the Spider-Man job is a good idea.

While lost in my thoughts, I was snapped out of them when I remembered it was 8 a.m.—May's breakfast time.

Carrying May, I headed to Leah's room. After all, I couldn't leave my daughter alone in a hospital hallway.

After leaving them both, I went to the hospital cafeteria to buy breakfast for my little princesses. Once I had it, I headed back to the hospital room, but as I approached, I overheard the sweetest conversation of my life.

"So… your dad is Spider-Man?" whispered Leah.

"Our dad," May whispered back.

"What do you mean, our dad?" The little girl was tense with anticipation, waiting to confirm her rushing thoughts.

"Yeah, from now on, we're the best sisters. I'm the big sister who will protect you, and you're the little sister who will protect me… because we're family." She extended her hand to little Leah, wiping away her tears before making a pinky promise.

The two little girls hugged tightly after sealing their pinky promise.

"Girls! Your mighty king has arrived, bringing lunch for his little golden princesses! And of course, you're both my golden little heavens!" Peter's voice rang out as he entered the room, greeted by the warmest scene he'd seen all day—his two daughters embracing.

At first, he had been afraid his two girls wouldn't get along, but it seemed that fear was unfounded.

After setting things down, Peter quickly began feeding the girls. He couldn't give Leah anything too delicious for fear of messing up her recovery, so he went to consult the doctor, who told him she couldn't have any food with saturated fats until she was fully healed.

As he fed her, Peter noticed Leah's slight sadness as she looked at her meal, so he decided to talk to her about what had happened.

"I'm sorry, my princess. I couldn't bring you tastier food. The doctor told me you can't eat that kind of food until further notice." Peter quickly explained why her lunch wasn't as delicious.

"It's okay, Dad. I know I can't eat fatty foods," Leah said, nervous about how Spider-Man would react to her calling him Dad.

Upon hearing Leah call him Dad, Peter's reaction was immediate. Raising his arms triumphantly like Doctor Doom, Peter exclaimed for the whole world to hear:

"DID YOU HEAR THAT? DID YOU HEAR THAT? MY OTHER PRINCESS JUST CALLED ME DAD!"

Saying Peter was euphoric would be an understatement compared to how he felt. His other daughter had just called him Dad.

Quickly, Peter hugged Leah—very gently, afraid of hurting her.

"Thank you, Leah. You and May are Daddy's princesses." Tears welled up in his daughters' eyes as he spoke.

"Come on, May! Let's do a family Parker group hug!" May immediately stopped eating and rushed over to join her father and Leah in their embrace.

To Leah, Peter was clearly overjoyed that she had called him Dad—it was evident in the way he hugged her. She was sure Peter truly loved her. She didn't know why, but ever since she was little, she had been very sensitive to people's emotions. That was why she hadn't let herself be taken to the orphanage and had instead run away—because those people had bad intentions toward here.
