Hou Niao's location, with the Water Spirit Pearl, had caught the covetous eyes of a large number of undead creatures. Although many of the lower-realm monsters with numerous eyes didn't quite comprehend what this thing was, it didn't mean they were unaware that it was a treasure of great significance.
The yearning for treasures knows no racial bounds, including the undead.
The destruction wrought by the undead on the Dark River had just begun. They believed that seizing this treasure would not take much time. Amidst the dispersion of spiritual power from the defense shield that Hou Niao strenuously maintained, it gleamed like a bright fire in the dark night, so conspicuous and dazzling that almost all of the undead creatures detected its presence immediately.
And then, they swarmed in.
The undead were not an organized race, and their attitude towards treasure was that the early bird gets the worm, the first to strike prevails.
