After talking with Peter, just let it be. Peter isn't really managing things now. He's about to leave Manhattan for Washington, D.C., and the more he does, the more likely he'll mess up, which might affect future plans, so he's just keeping tabs without getting involved in the complicated cases that Hughes would have intervened in when he was around to help Jimmy.
Jimmy arrived at Ruiz's office. Ruiz glanced at him, waved, picked up his suit, and the two headed downstairs together.
Late at night, in the office building, all the federal agencies had already left except for a few doing overtime work, so there were not many people downstairs. Jimmy took out a pack of cigarettes and gave Ruiz one. They stood in a corner downstairs, lighting cigarettes. In the dim light, two red dots flickered alternately.
Ruiz: "Tell me in detail."
Jimmy nodded, first explaining the reason he was tailing Louis, and then the situation where he discovered he was meeting up with Seventeen.
