For Hope, writing reports was also a good way to sort through Jimmy's case processing, as well as some operations that seemed almost miraculous to him. This gave Hope the feeling that he was back at Quantico, especially when he learned that Jimmy could even return to Quantico as an instructor, and that the cases he handled could be included in agent textbooks. This is definitely a genius-level person.
