Chapter 14 - UZET.

5 more points to level up. Jack said with a beaming smile. Jack was transported out of the game, so was Jin who stood beside Jack.

Dude, why the creepy smile? Don't tell me you scored more wins than I did, Jin said thinking that was probably the reason Jack was smiling.

I hope so, I defeated 5 guys Jack said boldly. He was glad that he could handle a couple ability users without the need to use an ability, he knew it would have been impossible two days ago. Now though he had a peculiar system that probably no one has knowledge how it works, excluding his Grandpa. Aside Lex getting fused into the system, so far the system can be considered a blessing for him.

That's impressive, honestly I didn't think you'd be able to get that much win, Jin said with a slight chuckle.

Jack squinted his eye after listening to Jin's comment, but he was not one to get offended easily by people's remarks. After all, he lost his parents at a young age, faced a year being bullied by his peers during his Second school set years, he learnt not to let words cut too deep, life though bitter has thought him resilience. With all he went through at his early age, one can only agree with his endurance stat being the highest.

Note: Due to the global shift in the schooling system in every continent as well as other planets in the human solar system. Humans currently practiced School Set Years. It was aforementioned in one of the earliest chapters of this book. In total they are 4 School Set Years.

Well, I'm guessing you won the competition, Jack said, hoping for a contradicting response from Jin.

Yes I did, Jin Said flexing his muscles. I took out 12 guys, piece of cake.

Damn, that's impressive. Jack couldn't help but blurt out.

Yeah I know. Jin complemented himself.

The boys were on their way back to their dorm room, they both still had to work on their assignment before it got late. And Jack wanted to Level up from completing one of his daily quests that required him to study for some hours. Jin decided to stop by some stalls to get food for the three of them, for some reason he felt compelled to provide food for the three group.

The both of them had arrived at their dorm room, and as usual Kevin was at his usual desk tinkering with some gadgets, even while working he still had his googles around his neck.

Hmm, I guess he doesn't really need those googles to work. Maybe if I snag them, I'll be about to summon that iron suit he used In the fight. Shaking his head, Jack quickly got rid of the thought scared of what would happen if Kevin was to find out.

*Pfft, Voice I'm not scared I'm just cautious. I mean the guy said we shouldn't touch his stuff. And besides I like my limbs intact*

Knowing Kevin, you'd probably lose more than just your limbs. Jin added as he approached the kitchen, this time Jack spoke audibly enough to be heard by Jin. Jin's comment further destroyed whatsoever courage Jack had in getting his hands on the googles. He gulps and shakes the weird feeling off.

After grabbing a few bites, the boys quickly settled into their assignment. Kevin eventually joined them, realizing it was a group project rather than an individual one. Fortunately, they all knew what to do. During their Second School Set Years, most of the subjects Mr. Klassen had introduced were already familiar, the boys had basic knowledge of the subject (PLANETOGRAPHY:

Planetography the study of planets and it's basic components)

What planet should we talk about tomorrow. Jack asked. What about planet Uzet. Jin suggested. No, it's quite popular and besides I believe some groups will have Uzet in mind. There are a lot of planets out there, let's pick one that's less popular I believe it will improve our chances of acing this assignment. Kevin said scrolling through his tablet.

Of course Jin and Jack couldn't argue with Kevin since the lad had given some good points. In the current human solar system were many planets. One of this many planets that was discovered some years after the great war was planet UZET.

Unlike other planets that were roaming with beast and creatures of different size and structure, Uzet when first discovered by humans was Void of life. The discovery of this planet was more or less a blessing to humanity in many ways than one. Many believe the planet was a remnant of forgotten civilization, but that was highly unlikely since there was no form of structures that indicated it was habitated before it's discovery by humans.

Although the planet was not as big as Earth and was considerably small in size, Over the years it has proved to be more valuable than it's size. Diverse minerals used by humans in their every day lives originated from this planet. One of the prominent minerals that has proved to be very much important to humans is the GENZU CLAY. Asides the discovery of GENZU CLAY in Uzet, many more discoveries such as Gems, Dulanium Fenzu and so on were discovered from this planet.

(Note: Dulanium will be explained better in the coming chapters.)

The most prominent discoveries being GENZU CLAY and Gems. Genzu clay is a major building material In today's society, although not many individuals can afford to utilize this mineral in their building plans, rather people prepare Fenzu clay which is quite cheaper but levels away from Genzu clay.

The discovery of gems gave rise to ability gems. The gems discovered in Uzet were vast and different. Each gem possessed a unique ability, while most gems could store abilities, some could be turned into explosives and weapons, others were simply quite special while many were used as jewelries.

Ability gems, weapon gems and jewelry gems could easily be differentiated, but it was difficult to identify a special gem. Ability gems were mostly transparent irrespective of it's size or shape. Ability gems are commonly and only used to store up abilities. The process involved to transfer abilities into this gems was not common knowledge to the public, and the world powers have chosen to keep it that way. The system came up with two types of ability transfer, namely the Absolute ability transfer and the Partial ability transfer.

They are three things involved if one was to transfer an ability to the gem. An individual would have to give up his ability if he/she wishes to pass it on to a family member or probably sell it to someone else, and this is known as the absolute transfer . Of course not just anyone could sell his/her abilities due the outrageous price of one gem. Unless the individual was extremely wealthy or was selling to a very wealthy individual it was unlikely one could get an ability gem in it's raw form. Once an ability is transferred to the gem the individual's MC cells would be gone permanently, (the drawback of the absolute transfer) and that's why the price to acquiring an ability via this method was no joke. In various cases, both parties end up happy, unless one party pulls a stunt going against the initial agreement.

Individuals with high MC cells are contracted by government officials, they are offered huge sums of money to transfer there ability to the gems. It's possible for one individual to transfer his ability in bits to hundreds or thousands of gems. If the individual still wishes to possess his ability after the transfer, he would be regarded as a grade 1 or so ability user based on the remnant of his MC cells, this method is of ability transfer is known as the partial ability transfer.

Another case scenario that leads to transfer of abilities is known by the general public as the A-Verdict. The A-Verdict is a term used to punish troublesome ability users. This offenders would go through the absolute ability transfer against their will, and there abilities are kept by government to make the best use of.

Every continent had a base situated in Uzet where the president and his subordinates would hold there meetings or relax if they ever visited the planet. Asides that, they were several Military base and defense structures set up to combat terrorist groups and other individuals that would want to exploit the mineral resources.

Only few individuals were permitted to reside in this planet commonly the rich and powerful. In all every continent had a portion of the planet and special Mining, research and transport companies responsible for mining and distributing this resources to various planets.

After two hours studying, Jack received several notifications.
