Chapter 122 - Chapter 124: Harvesting Some Fire-Type Skills (Part 1)

Atreus patted the rump of the Crimson Horse and instructed, "Take the president to the New York City Police Department. Just follow satellite navigation; don't use GPS—that thing's too inaccurate."

"Got it."

The president, half-choking on his breath, felt a huge weight lifted off his chest, but another question suddenly popped into his mind. "Mr. Kratos, where are you going?"

Atreus burst out laughing, "Haha! Aldrich Killian, that idiot, has provoked him."

Atreus's murderous aura exploded, his fierce and deadly intent completely unmasked.

President Ellis, seeing this, hurriedly lowered his head, not daring to look directly at him. It felt as though he wasn't facing a superhero but a true god—God of war and slaughter!

"Whoever messes with me, I'll wipe out their entire family!"

With that ruthless declaration, Atreus leaped straight down from a height of 200 meters.

The Greek chariot didn't have any rear doors for easy exit. When Atreus had been standing, it wasn't noticeable, but with the rear open, even the president had to sit on the flatbed, gripping the chariot's handles tightly. He cautiously leaned halfway out to observe Kratos' situation.

Not far off, Kratos coincidentally stomped onto the back of a crimson-glowing Extremis soldier mid-leap, attempting to take down an Iron Man. Using the unfortunate foe to cushion his fall, Kratos slowed his descent, then performed a graceful double jump, landing atop a nearby gantry crane.

Only then did the president relax. When he turned his head, he locked eyes with Penthesilea, who had turned to face him. Despite the mask covering half her face, he was still drawn to her sharp chin and facial contours.

But the president quickly lowered his head and, in a voice neither too loud nor too soft, said, "Thank you for saving my life. As president, I have my stance and will never betray my country or people. But as an individual, I'd be happy to help true heroes deal with some minor issues."

"Oh? Is that so? Then I thank you on Kratos' behalf." Fortunately, Atreus had given instructions earlier. Otherwise, there's no telling what the bold Amazon queen might have done to a man she despised.

The queen reluctantly slowed the chariot's speed and descent, so the elderly President Ellis wouldn't feel as terrified.

In less than ten minutes, they arrived at the New York City Police Department, where Commissioner George Stacy was holding a routine press conference discussing the public safety challenges during the city's reconstruction. The queen presented him with a gift titled "The President's Triumphant Return."

"Mr. President?" George was dumbfounded.

The White House hadn't even publicly disclosed that the president had been hijacked aboard Air Force One. Suddenly seeing the president descend from the mysterious Greek chariot that had saved New York onto the balcony of the press conference hall left the reporters initially stunned. Then, their faces lit up with joy.

This was literally a headline falling from the sky!

"Mr. President! What happened?"

"Weren't you supposed to be en route to UAE?"

"Mr. President, could you give an interview to our station?"

The reporters tried to rush forward, but George waved his hand, and the security officers in the hall immediately stepped in front of the president. George also urgently called all the on-duty officers to come to the station.

"I believe your name is George, correct?" the president said with satisfaction.

"Yes, George Stacy, NYPD Commissioner. I don't know what's happened, but I'll ensure your safety until the agents arrive," said George, quickly sensing that something was off.

"Very good. I'll need your full cooperation next."

"Rest assured, Mr. President. New York's 35,000 officers are your strongest support."

"I'll need…"

After a few words from the president, George was so alarmed that his scalp tingled. He even discreetly instructed his daughter, at home, to put on her costume and standby near the station.

Meanwhile, back at the harbor, Atreus was in the midst of a massacre.

The elite soldiers who had undergone the Extremis virus treatment were indeed formidable.

From the first encounter, Atreus could clearly feel their strength and agility, around 20 to 30 points each, with endurance close to 40 points.

These elite soldiers, former U.S. military members, combined with physical capabilities two or three times beyond a normal human's, were able to take down a few AI-controlled Iron Man suits with ease.

Given the world's standards, they could already be considered "miniature Captain Americas."

The key, however, was their "miniature Magma Fists." When their bodies turned semi-transparent and crimson, the intense heat emitted could melt steel.

Steel's melting point is at least 1,500 degrees Celsius.

In this regard, they even surpassed Captain America. In terms of raw combat power, they were undoubtedly tougher to deal with.

Whether Tony's AI butler, J.A.R.V.I.S., could quickly collect their data, adjust the Iron Man army's response speed, reduce losses, and strike the enemy wasn't something Atreus had to worry about.

Atreus wasn't here because someone had provoked him.

He was simply here to grab a protective charm from the president and harvest some attributes and skills along the way.

Every superhero is on Hydra's watchlist, let alone someone like Kratos, who is under extra scrutiny.

As soon as Atreus appeared in Kratos' skin, two elite Extremis soldiers roared and charged at him.

Bring it on!

Atreus grinned, baring his teeth, which to onlookers, made him seem like a beast ready to devour its prey.

The first Extremis soldier quickly closed the distance, his left fist extended, right fist pulled back, in a standard boxing stance. Clearly, he intended to use his superior physique to instantly take Atreus down with no tricks.

Atreus's grin only widened.

"Kid, already had too much?"

How much have you even eaten?

Since ascending to demigod status, not even during the last battle in New York had Atreus fully revealed his terrifying physical prowess.

He had the system lock his agility at 40 points.

Even so, it was already jaw-dropping!

Atreus's form seemed to blur in place. The Extremis soldier could only instinctively feel Atreus brushing past him. But within his 120-degree forward view, Atreus had seemingly vanished. His reaction wasn't slow either. Though still moving forward by inertia, he managed to twist in mid-air, instinctively shielding his vital points.

His body was engulfed in flames, with his skin burnt to a crisp. He hoped the molten heat radiating from him would deter Atreus.

Unfortunately, in the face of the true divine sword Achilles, his body was nothing but paper.
