Walking down the corridor leading to her father's study, she saw the doors open and Butler Winston stepped out holding a stack of papers in his hand.
He saw her immediately, and surprise flashed in his face, but only for a moment as he gave her a small bow. asked, "Lady Seraphielle, is there a reason why you have come here?"
If Seraphielle had the time, she would have wanted to know why he was surprised on seeing her—was it because of her appearance, or because she came to her father's study? It was funny.
She didn't reply for a few tense seconds, and just as Winston wanted to talk again, she spoke. "Yes, I came to see my father. Is he busy?"
The butler nodded and his smile deepened. His gaze was patronizing, as if he were looking at a child wanting to throw a tantrum. "Yes, Lady Seraphielle, your father is very busy this morning. So whatever you want to meet him for, you can tell me, and be assured, I will definitely pass on your message."
