Chapter 12 - [12]

"So…what's up with the three…doors throughout the cargo section of the ship?" I ask Zenya who only partially turns to look at me with a small little smirk at the corners of her lips.

"Well, each section is individually pressurized and sealed, this in part so you can carry a fighter in the front of the loading bay and fly out through it or if you're transporting plague sufferers…or more likely if there is a fire…it makes it easier to extinguish the flames." Zenya says to me as we walk counterclockwise through the ship.

"So that room there is the escape pod." Zenya explains to me as we pass a small hatch to the right of the airlock.

"That is a living quarters, can be set up for multiple people or keep it as a single." Zenya says while pointing to a door on the left.

"This is a workshop/engineering space that gives access to the main motivators of the ship." Zenya continues to explain as she points to the right revealing a cancerous space filled with stationary workbenches and large engines.

"The next space to the right is hidden but it's an armory/smuggling hole, on the left is a medbay that comes with a Koltov tank…but it's super obsolete…and needs to be replaced with a bacta tank…but there is a fully functional droid table and doctor droid though they could use some updating…that's an airlock…you could get a second cargo module." Zenya continues to explain each doorway to me as we walk through the semicircular hallway that is large enough for the two of us to walk abreast of each other and bit more space.

"This left here will take you to the double dual turbo laser pathway…and through here is the gallery of the ship/lounge." Zenya continues with the tour entering said lounge, the lounge space/gallery is about the same size as my apartment back on earth but it has a large garish obstruction in the middle of the room that I remember from swtor as a holo-terminal.

While in one corner there is a crescent shaped couch on a raised platform with a much smaller holo-table on it typically used for games and eating.

"This area was expanded…it used to be a secondary internal cargo hold but, like I said, the gallery, lounge area, communications room and the empty space can be used as extra storage room." Zenya explains as we walk around the room.

"Hmm, would we be able to put up a wall separating the lounge area and holo-terminal from the rest of the room?" I ask Zenya, while thinking of converting the extra space into a fully holding area with cages with anti-escape measures and a Carbonite freezing chamber for bounty storage.

'Really I'm sure I can change whatever I want about the ship using Upgrade and any of the super intelligent species I can turn into.' I brainstorm on my mind while I still plan on becoming a bounty hunter and bounty hunting to not only make money but to also hone combat and various other skills.

"Easily…" Zenya replies to me while nodding and I can tell somehow that she's visualizing the changes that I mentioned.

'I'm probably making the wrong decision about my career path…but I'm not some Star Wars megafan…sure I have my own little niches and I love star wars shit growing up. As a kid I burnt out two VCR's and nine tapes from how much I loved watching the original trilogy.' I ramble in my head as I'm still stuck on the notion that being a Bounty Hunter is the best career path in the Star Wars universe.

"I…mean, Technically we could do that, but it'd make navigating the interior of the ship that much more difficult in an emergency situation." Zenya truly replies to me now done with her visualization process her eyebrows are scrunched up cutely, while she is putting a large amount of thought behind my question still even though she all but shoots it down.

"Hmm, is the large holo-terminal really necessary? It seems like technology would have improved a lot since the time of the old republic and a smaller, much more space conscientious option should be available by now.

Oh and to keep the original traversal area of the ship we put up a separate wall and add in an additional two doors and two frames for the walkway both separating the large space into two rooms, and reinforcing the modifications nicely...which in turn will be keeping a direct passageway through this portion of the ship." I voice my ideas aloud.

"That could work, but you'd be sacrificing a lot of usable space that way and not only would we have to tear the ship down to her frame to make those alterations, they would be both costly and extremely time consuming." Zenya expresses upon, as she still takes the time to fully consider my ideas before shooting them down with some cold hard experience that I just didn't have.

"As for your question about the Holoterminal, yes, there have been some improvements and smaller units produced, but they sacrifice some of the functions of this model…like the full color holograms, and here's an example for you say you're at the edge of the outer rim, this one here can connect with an inner core world because of its internal signal broadcasting ability.

Whereas the newer smaller units would reach only mid rim, unless you want to drop a hundred thousand creds on a more advanced external antenna array.

So in the end I'd recommend that you keep this one and as for relocating it we could but we'd have to strip the ship down to the frame and relocate the securing apparatus and cables." Zenya continues to explain things to me, which makes my shoulders slump slightly…as all my ideas have been systematically shot down.

I sigh and nod in understanding, "Haa, thanks for giving me the facts straight." I say in a morose tone of voice that makes Zenya look a little sheepish as she reaches over and pats my shoulder before taking my hand and pulling me along behind her.

"This here is your pathway between the cockpit and the gunners turret at the top and bottom of the ship I know it seems a bit large but the space is a bit necessary if you have more than just yourself on board but if you want we could narrow down this corridor and use the additional space to make a weapons locker close to the cockpit for you. It's easy and non-invasive. Or we could build a droid station here for both repair and charging." Zenya says to me while looking between our still joined hands and my face, her own taking on a soft flush, before letting go of my hand.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel a little disappointed at the loss of the contract between us, but I didn't let it show on my face since I didn't want to come off as desperate…

'Even though you are, how long has it been since you got laid? Too fuckin long that's how long it's been…and Letty's bj just made it worse.' I talk to myself in my head.
