Chapter 45 - Serena Snape: Love of Magic - chapter 45

Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Scott Fellman.

December 18, 1976 - Serena Pov

I woke up completely satisfied. Bellatrix was curled up in my arms. She looked beautiful as she slept, peaceful. I didn't want to lift her up, I didn't want to get up, so I just closed my eyes and enjoyed the moment.

Bellatrix's presence remained calm, but I did notice when Bellatrix started to get restless. I opened my eyes just in time to see her wake up.

It seemed to take a few seconds for her to register the position she was in as she stared at me. To my surprise, she simply blushed and made no effort to pull away; in fact, she snuggled closer to me.

I moved in to kiss her, and she met me halfway. It felt just… perfect. After last night, everything felt right, but to my chagrin, Bellatrix pulled away after a few minutes, burying her face in my neck and biting me.

"Ugh! Really? So early in the morning?!" I asked incredulously as I ignored the stabbing pain in my neck. As Bellatrix drank my blood in large gulps, I decanted my gold to replenish the blood lost just as quickly. "Good morning, I presume." I sighed submissively as I continued to hug Bellatrix.

"Good morning, Sera." Bellatrix greeted as she pulled away after a few minutes, blood still in her mouth, running down her jaw. She used her fingers to wipe my blood away before licking it off as if tasting ambrosia. She then simply stood up, completely ignoring her state of undress. I watched in utter fascination as she confidently moved around the room. Her pure disregard for the fact that my gaze was on her ass until she walked over to the bathroom and looked over her shoulder. She smirked at me. "Are you coming to the shower or not? " I didn't care that I almost tripped getting out of bed; I simply ran in Bellatrix's direction and joined her in the bathroom.

Even though we were cleansed from the charms I cast last night, I didn't feel truly clean without a shower, and we both needed one. After a long, necessary shower and quite a few playful moments in it without leading to actual sex, we left the room to find food.

To my surprise, it was still early in the morning, not the time we usually woke up, but it was early enough to have breakfast. We headed arm in arm towards the kitchen.

The mansion was a reasonably large house, 50 m x 25 m, with three floors. Its aesthetic was Victorian style, but it also incorporated modern comforts that were much more familiar to me than to the rest of the group. The master bedroom, which was mine and Bellatrix's, was located on the third floor; nonetheless, it didn't take us long to reach the kitchen.

At no point did we cross paths with Narcissa and Lucius. Hence, I began to cook with Faery Feast guiding my movements. Bellatrix sat at the small table top near the kitchen; I had seen the dining room in the house, and it was much larger than we needed at the moment, as merely four people occupied it.

As I was about to finish preparing breakfast and serving it on the table, the kitchen door opened as Narcissa and Lucius walked in.

"Good morning, breakfast?" I greeted cheerfully as I looked over my shoulder. I could see Lucius stiffening before shuddering slightly.

"I'm really starting to see the problem Lisa Wilbourn had with her power. I really don't need to know that you two had sex last night." Lucius shuddered again. I could feel myself blushing.

"Malfoy." Bellatrix growled dangerously, Lucius snorted and raised his hands in surrender before looking at us once more, before stiffening.

"Wait! Last night was his first time?! You really weren't lying when you said you didn't sleep with Serena?!" Lucius asked incredulously, and I stumbled in the kitchen.

"Malfoy!!" Bellatrix stood up firmly. I could see that her body was losing its physical form; it almost seemed like she was about to rip Lucius to pieces by the way she looked at him. She was only stopped by Narcissa's shriek.

"Oh, Morgana! Congratulations to you both!" Narcissa squealed as she approached without a care for Bellatrix's fury. She took her sister's hands. "You have to tell me everything! Right away!" She began to drag her out. Bellatrix grimaced but made no effort to stop Narcissa; she just continued to stare at Lucius with a glare. Narcissa stopped at the door. "Next, it will be your turn, Sera!" Narcissa pointed at me. I sighed dully. I could already tell she was going to be a pain in the ass.

"Wait! Breakfast!" I yelled at them before they left, but Narcissa didn't seem to hear and continued dragging a reluctant Bellatrix along. I huffed before swatting my tail at a couple of nearby breakfast trays. Quickly, they both began to change; they were still trays, but now they were more. Still, they had a female body attached to the edge of them holding the tray in both hands; the body was only the top half and had wings, so they both floated above the kitchen.

I quickly place food on both of them.

"Take it to Narcissa's room." I ordered my Schiavo, and both of them started moving without spilling anything they were holding. I nodded as I watched them leave before placing the rest of the food on the table for Lucius and me. I even put a small plate of candy for Cia, who immediately tackled it. "You know Bella's going to get revenge on you, right?" I snorted at Lucius. He grimaced as he sat down.

"I just blurted it out, I was surprised," he defended himself. I rolled my eyes.

"Also, how the hell did you know? I'm sure we have information defenses up; it shouldn't work on us." Now Lucius snorted.

"It's partial defense, you didn't buy the second copy to make it full defense, I still get a bit of information from you guys, plus my power didn't have to do much work, it practically screamed it at me." Lucius replied, taking a bite of his food, before groaning lightly and clearing his throat when he realized what he had said. "You need to cook more often." I huffed as I began to eat my breakfast.

"Maybe I will, in a couple of days, we'll be leaving Hogwarts for Yule, I'll be spending most of my time here, if Bellatrix doesn't drag me off to her family, you can come over anytime." I shrugged. "Besides, we'll be leaving for another world soon, and I'll be taking care of the kitchen." I said plainly, and he nodded. "So? Were you able to test Tattletale's power? " I asked curiously, Lucius got excited as I nodded.

"Of course, I increased my matchmaking rank, but the rest of my party seemed to be waiting for me to get some new power or were restricting themselves from using others, so they could progress with me. So I was playing with my group of Crusader Kings." Lucius seemed happy with the result.

"Looks like you have new friends," I teased him. He shrugged.

"Maybe? It's refreshing to discuss and strategize with them; it's also reassuring to know that I'll never meet them, nor can they interfere with us, so I'm confident that none of them have any hidden intentions. We just... play." Lucius said honestly, and I nodded in understanding.

"I'm glad." I smiled slightly at him. "And Narcissa?" He hummed.

"She spent some time in the workshop testing her needles; she was able to sew through the basilisk skin easily." Now that was impressive, meaning the magically strengthened stuff could also be pierced by Narcissa and the Nui Nui no mi. "Though you definitely need to get her the other devil fruit, she's been complaining that she can't cut through the skin." I grimaced.

"Yeah, well… I had some ideas." I said sheepishly, Lucius looked at me curiously "As you know, I have Enid Sinclair from the Wednesday series up for grabs." Lucius nodded, "And I came up with Thing! I still have my hand in inventory, so… you know, I could turn it into a Schiavo and I would animate it, then seal it with the company before giving it the choki choki no mi." Lucius gave me a flat look.

"Narcissa will hate it; she may be a Black through and through, she doesn't mind casual mutilation or death, or causing it if necessary, but a severed hand as a companion is something else," he said simply. I grimaced before sighing.

"I figured as much." I said dejectedly, 'I already knew that. I understood Narcissa most of the time.' "Luckily, I have another idea." I pulled out my phone before showing him a particular weapon.

"Scissor Blades, while the company doesn't sell items directly, they can be traded with other contractors. It would cost me 20 credits to buy it from a contractor, then I would have to find a way to give it the fruit. The easiest way would be to use Schiavo." Lucius took the phone and began to read the information on the scissors.

"These things are ridiculous," Lucius said in disbelief, snorting in amusement.

"Oh, definitely, but it takes ridiculous strength to use it properly, and even a normal person would do a lot of damage with it. Adding the choki choki no mi to allow it to cut everything as if it were paper would only increase its dangerousness." I told him honestly, Lucius hummed lightly before nodding.

"She would like it, and it would be a good form of defense as long as they are Schiavos," Lucius said, and I sighed in relief before nodding.

"Then I'll buy it immediately."

Scissor Blades [-20] [208]

Immediately after purchasing it, the Scissor Blades fell on the table where we had just finished breakfast. They were as big as I expected. To my surprise, one blade was red and the other was purple. I didn't know if it could change color depending on who was holding it, but it wasn't the time for that.

"La Verità." I transformed into it and immediately hit the scissors with my tail. To my surprise, the scissors did not change in any way, even though I felt my Schiavo activate. A few seconds passed, and I was about to hit it with my tail once more when the scissors shook.

I felt a connection with the scissors, just like with Cia and Aria, but the scissors still retained their shape. I tried to give it some mental commands, and to my surprise, the sword began to float. I hummed as I stood up and stretched out my hand.

The scissors swords approached me and began to spin at high speed. I moved my hands as the scissors followed them eagerly. With a whip of my hands, the scissors shot out. I grimaced as I watched them pass through the walls as if they weren't there, and continue on. I retracted my hand, and the scissors came back to me.

"You'll fix that." Lucius said dryly, I rolled my eyes as I continued to examine the scissors. They were stupidly sharp as they were, and they did, in fact, stand on their own, but I had some ideas. With a wave of both hands, the scissors separated into two and began to spin once more.

Okay, okay. Now let's see if it works.

I tested their size change; making them bigger was not a problem. I had to stop their growth when they became too large to prevent them from cutting the whole kitchen. The nicest thing was that they also shrank to the size of regular scissors while retaining their original sharpness and hardness.

They were a nice weapon and tool to have. I was impressed.

Now, why doesn't it change shape with my Schiavo? I had some ideas, but I couldn't confirm them at the moment. However, I guess it has to do with the scissors being made of hardened Life Fibers. I didn't know how mutable and adaptable to magic the Life Fibers were, but they were definitely hardened, making them resistant to transformations.

I immediately took out my phone and fiddled with it until I found the option to accept family members. Luckily for me, it was immediate. I would have to see if I could add Aria and Cia to it later, for now.
