Author's Notes: Chapter edited and corrected by Scott Fellman.
Serena POV.
"Welcome to the underworld," I said as we stepped through the portal. I could see everyone freeze and stare up at the sky.
"The sky... is purple." Tiona murmured in shock.
"This is incredible, it's... Everything is so different." Tione murmured as she looked around.
"There's magic all around... So much magic, I can feel it so easily," Lefiya said in amazement.
"We really are in the underworld," Lucy murmured as she looked around with wide eyes.
"It's not a bad place to live," Rebecca said, sounding slightly excited.
"We're really not in Lower World anymore, nor even Tenkai." Loki murmured in shock as she looked around in disbelief. "The atmosphere here... it feels like Tenkai, only more..."
"Wicked?" I finished for her. Loki simply nodded absently. "Yes, you would feel that way. After all, this place is home to many dark creatures. Demons are among them, though possibly one of the most numerous, ironically." I said simply.
"I no longer feel the restriction of the sky, the restriction of Uranus," Loki said slowly as she raised a hand. "I could raise my Arcanum without any punishment," Loki said in amazement.
"You could, you wouldn't be the first deity to set foot in the underworld, no one would be surprised." I said absentmindedly. Loki looked at me in surprise.
"Other gods have been here, who?" Loki asked immediately. I smiled mockingly at her.
"Now, that would be revealing." I said playfully, Loki just grunted.
"That's not a moon," Bete interrupted, looking up at the sky. Everyone looked up, only to see the moon of the underworld.
"That... isn't a moon." Loki repeated, confirming it in shock.
"No, it isn't. The underworld is mostly barren. There wasn't much here before devils, and other beings made it their home. That's an artificial moon, created by the Satans, the most powerful devils among us, using demonic power to mimic the night of the human world," I said playfully.
"That thing up there... it was created by some people?" Riveria murmured, horrified. I snorted.
"Don't be surprised, those devils are Satans, they are literally stronger than most normal gods, creating an artificial moon is something they can do and with relative ease," I said amusedly.
"And that's not scary at all." Tione murmured in shock. I chuckled.
"I guess that's... Pentagram City? It really lives up to its name." Finn said, looking into the distance. Just as he said, my city was close enough that its shape was easily recognizable.
I had created the portal to reach the underworld in the air and had placed a platform that was held up by my magic so that everyone would stay here, so it was easy to see all of Pentagram City from the sky.
"It is, and that's where we're going right now. Remember, you have about 1 hour and 40 minutes to watch as much as you can." I said while clapping lightly. I created several clocks and quickly set them up, monitored them, and had them placed on everyone's wrists.
"That clock will chime when time is up, and you'll be brought here again after 10 seconds. Also, for your safety, you have a spell on you that will forbid you from speaking about certain things for the time being," I said honestly.
Although bringing them to the Underworld was merely a whim, neither the Loki family nor the citizens would have any reason to know that they came from entirely different universes. The watches would forbid them from speaking too much about Orario, and in turn, would make them ignore any mention of the human world in this universe.
"Should we be worried about our safety?" Finn asked cautiously, glancing at his watch. I chuckled softly.
"Not in the slightest. Everyone in the city is much weaker than you. I think there are barely a handful of people capable of matching you or beating you in a straight fight," I said jokingly. Everyone looked at me in surprise.
"Wait, I thought everyone would be as powerful as you and all that," Tiona said in surprise. I shook my head.
"Of course not, I'm a high-class devil. The devils who live in Pentagram City are civilians, low-class devils, they're barely capable of fighting," I said honestly.
"Tch, they're just like you, and they're so weak?" Bete said dismissively. I froze for a few moments before letting all my demonic power explode in all directions and press down on Bete.
Bete's knees hit the ground hard, and his head tilted down; I could see he was trying to resist, so I just put more pressure on him.
"Bete!" growled Loki, the only one who, oddly enough, was still standing with her teeth clenched. I momentarily ignored her.
"Listen to me, werewolf. All devils, regardless of their strength, who live within Pentagram City are protected by me. I created this city for them. Don't you ever insult them again in any way. And if I find out you've harmed any of them, you won't like the consequences." I said coldly before concealing my demonic power once more, just in time to prevent Loki from releasing her Arcanum.
Even so, she glanced at me cautiously. I ignored her again and looked at the others. I could see they were all able to breathe again, and they were utterly pale. Lucy was trembling slightly, her eyes wide open, and Rebecca was staring at me, her eyes glazed. I barely touched her mind just enough to know that she had been aroused by that display.
"And that goes for you too," I said, looking at Ais, who was getting to her feet. Ais looked surprised. Just like everyone else, I could even see Finn looking astonished as he tried to help Bete to her feet.
"A-am I?" She asks with difficulty.
"I don't care about your hatred of dragons and monsters. As long as you're in my city, they're protected, so I expect you to control yourself." I said with a frown.
"Dragons?" Ais growled, I could feel her hatred beginning to surface.
"Yes, so I hope you stay calm." I snorted. "The city's citizens are mostly devils, but it's not uncommon for other devils or races from elsewhere to come for... certain activities. Everyone is protected." I said simply and plainly.
"But-" Ais tried to say, but I just glared at her before sighing.
"Dragons aren't uncommon in the underworld; there's a fairly large colony relatively nearby, and they're not evil, so I hope you don't attack any of them," I said dryly. "If you behave... I might give you a reward," I added with a hum.
"Reward?" Ais asked, frowning.
"I have... a sword, it belonged to the hero Siegfried, it was used to kill the evil dragon Fafnir, he is known as the Dragon Slayer. His sword, Balmung, was enchanted after Fafnir's death, causing much more damage against those who have dragon blood."
"I'll consider giving you a copy of it if you restrain yourself." I said simply, Ais's gaze turning sharp and determined.
"I will." Ais said firmly, and I nodded.
"Hey, although I'm glad for Ais, because she gets that treatment, and Bete only gets a beating?" Loki asked indignantly, and I shrugged.
"Ais has a reason for hating dragons and monsters, Bete is just being an idiot." I said bluntly, Loki opened her mouth before closing it.
"You're right, I withdraw my complaint," Loki said, taking a step back.
"Hey." Bete growled through gritted teeth.
"You... built this city?" Riveria asked as she abruptly changed the subject.
"I did." I said softly. "I'm a succubus, we-"
"I knew it! I knew it, damn it!!" Rebecca exclaimed, interrupting me with a deranged smile. "You're a fucking sex maniac! It's because you're a fucking succubus!" Rebecca exclaimed as if everything now made sense. I chuckled.
"I am," I said playfully, looking at the slightly blushing and puzzled Loki familia. "Succubi are a type of devil; specifically, we are sex devils." They blushed even more.
"I sense it's more than 'just' enjoying sex." Loki said slowly, and I just nodded.
"Because it's more than that. Our entire biology is linked to sex. We need sex like any living being needs food. We feed on sexual relations, on the lust of our partners; we need sex to live, we need sex to stay healthy." I said simply, and everyone's eyes widened in shock.
"Is that what Bellatrix meant by your 'sexual condition'?" Riveria asked, surprised. I nodded.
"It is, and it's more than that. All our magic is also tied to sex. The more magic I use, the more pent-up lust I'll feel. At some point, I'll have to... release it, and the sooner rather than later, and with a partner, the better." I said with a grimace. I could see Riveria's worried expression. "Don't worry, really, believe it or not, I used very little magic during our fight."
Riveria nodded slowly.
"Getting back to the topic, succubi are the weakest race of all the devils. We are made for sex, period. Any sexual attribute you can think of is enhanced in a succubus, but in return, we are pathetically weak."
"We are weaker physically and magically than any other type of devil, even civilians. In a society based on personal power, succubi are at the very bottom of the ladder."
"And adding to that the fact that we actually need to feed when we have sex, and that during that time we absorb a minuscule portion of a devil's ridiculously high vitality, well, we're no better than parasites to many of the High Class devils."
"The problem is, we can't live without sex, and sex with a succubus feels dozens of times better than with anyone else, and since most succubi don't have any real power, well... you can imagine how succubi would end up." I said while shrugging.
I could see the look of horror and understanding on their faces.
"When I ascended to a high-class devil, one of the succubi in the brothel where I grew up was attacked by another high-class devil. Since it would obviously be impossible to punish the devil who caused it, well, I decided to create a city to protect them."
"I was able to convince one of the richest families to let me marry their daughter in exchange for some... favors. I won't regale you with all the politics and dealings behind it, but thanks to that, I got all the territory to found the city."
"The red-light district in the city is where all the succubi live right now. They can work at whatever they want and are completely safe within the city. When the other low-class devils heard about the formation of a new city by a succubus..."
"Well, they decided to take a chance and come live here instead of continuing to be oppressed and abused by other high-class devils. I really didn't expect the city to grow so much, but I accept all the devils I can." I said with a small smile.
"That... you're amazing." Finn said with a small, nostalgic smile as he looked out at the city. "Succubi remind me of Pallums; the similarities in our situations are incredibly alike," Finn said gently. "We're considered the weakest race."
"Smaller bodies, weaker physiques, with no other option but to submit to stronger people to ensure our survival. But you rose up and protected your fellow succubi, you created an entire city just for them, to keep them safe."
"It's amazing, you're amazing." Finn said with a smile, and I smiled back as I nodded.
"You are, what you've built here... is wonderful." Riveria said with a gentle smile.
"Can I meet them?" Rebecca asked, her gaze fixed on the city's Red Light District.
"The Succubi?" I asked curiously. She just nodded, then stared at me.
"Are they your people, your... extended family? They're important, I want to meet everyone who's important to you," Rebecca said, trying to sound nonchalant as she looked away. I smiled broadly and placed my hand on her head.
"Thank you, you will, don't worry." I said gently, then looked at the Loki familia. "Now, you'd better get going. We can continue talking later since we have a time limit. Please enjoy Pentagram City." I chirped as I extended my hand and opened a portal to the city.
My eyes opened slightly before I took something out of the inventory.
"Before I forget, here's some money. You can spend it without worry." I said simply, tossing a small wad of bills to Loki, who caught it, confused. She'll figure out how to use the money eventually. "And try to avoid the Red Light District," I added playfully.
"Don't you want us to meet the succubi?" Loki asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Not for the reason you think. As I said, we need sex to live, and now succubi are safer, freer, and more self-assured. They're much more open to expressing themselves in ways they used to repress. All the establishments there sell sex in one way or another; maybe it's a bit too much for some of you," I said playfully.
" Ohh? Challenge accepted! " Loki growled before running in the direction of the portal.
"Loki-sama!" Finn shouted before quickly following her, and everyone else rushed after them immediately. I chuckled as I closed the portal, turned around, and looked at the rest.
"Now... the three of you." I said, looking at Rebecca, Riveria, and Lucy. "There are a couple of things to do. First... Riveria, there's still a lot we need to talk about." I said gently.
"There's still more? I thought your identity as a devil was the most important thing." Riveria said in surprise, while Lucy and Rebecca snorted.
"Believe me, Pointy Ears, you still have a lot to discover." Rebecca said playfully. Riveria looked at her in surprise.
"And secondly, I want to introduce you to the rest of the family." I said softly, which surprised Rebecca.
"Your other wives?" Rebecca asked, her eyes wide. I nodded.
"Actually, fiancées, I'll explain in a few minutes." I quickly corrected myself. "And yes, my fiancées, Enid and Ravel, and two more members of my family, Lucius and Narcissa." I said softly.
"Alright, let's go," Riveria said, nodding. I created a portal to the mansion, then a time bubble for a really long, necessary talk. Then firmly closed the door while keeping Enid at bay.
She had sensed that Pack's connection had returned to the underworld, and could practically feel it bouncing back, but unfortunately, she had to wait.
"Alright, let's begin. I've just created a time bubble. We'll have all the time in the world while we're here," I said with a smile, looking at the others, who ignored me while looking around.
"Wow... all of them... all of them are magic books?" Riveria asked, looking around. The library was a magnificent sight, if she could be impartial. It was the place with the most spatial magic within the mansion.
The library was designed to be utterly colossal, enormous, and majestic. Dozens of large shelves filled with books of all kinds extended several times my height.
The most striking thing was that there were incomplete sections, or sections entirely empty of books.
"No," I said softly. "There are books ranging from history to science... this is designed to keep expanding as I travel to other worlds; the shelves are separated by world sections."
"Over there, there's the magical world, followed by the DxD world, and there's one for Portal, Cyberpunk 2077, and another for Danmachi that are being filled in." I said with a smile. "I try to collect as many books as I can, even the non-magical ones."
"Wait, our world too? There aren't any books there. Do you know how expensive paper is? I don't think I've ever seen so many books together in my life." Lucy said, surprised.
"Well, I mean, the books there are all digital, yes, but nothing I can't create in a snap, it's really easy." I said playfully. "Although this is also being adapted to have a full digital version of all the worlds, GLaDOS is handling that part; there's a server there with numerous books on it if you want to try it." I said while pointing to one side.
There, there was what looked like a pedestal with a completely white sphere, almost seeming to have a core of personality; instead, it was completely smooth, except for some irregularities where small blue circles emerged.
"Nova, I thought we were living in prehistoric times." Rebecca said playfully as she approached and touched the sphere, which reacted slightly and opened a small port on one side.
"How much information can fit in this thing?" Lucy asked in surprise as she approached to examine it.
"Hmm, no idea, GLaDOS created it based on her own memory, so easily hundreds of petabytes?" I said casually. Rebecca whistled, very impressed.
"Excuse me, but... other worlds?" Riveria asked, completely bewildered. I smiled slightly.
"Come on, we have a lot to cover." I said, approaching Riveria and gently extending my hand. She took it cautiously, and I led her to one of the nearby tables.
Over the next few hours, I explained everything to Riveria—everything I had discussed with Rebecca and Lucy, and more—going into much greater depth on certain topics. Riveria was utterly shocked, but curiously, she accepted it even more quickly, perhaps because she was more accustomed to magic and other worlds.
Tenkai wasn't a different world, but it seemed like one to a mortal in Danmachi. So she adapted quickly; in fact, she seemed genuinely interested in the other worlds and everything related to them. I even showed them a lot about Danmachi and everything else.
Finally, hours had passed before Riveria was satiated.
"Honestly, I'd like to keep talking to you, but one of my fiancées is about to explode if I don't introduce you to them," I said playfully while looking more at Riveria. Riveria gave a small, tired smile.
"We can take a break, I... I have a lot to process with all the information you've given me," Riveria said honestly. "A little chat will help me clear my head a bit," she added, and I nodded slightly.
"I'm ready too!" Rebecca chirped, though I could sense a surge of nervousness. Lucy just nodded.
"Alright, let's go then." I said, standing up as I broke the time bubble.
"Sera!" As soon as I opened the library door, Enid jumped toward me, placed her nose in the crook of my neck, and inhaled deeply. "I missed you." Enid sighed with pleasure as she tried to cover me with her scent, or cover herself with mine. I laughed softly as I hugged her.
"I was away for a day for you, and we talked every few hours; I should be the one having that reaction." I said playfully, Enid made a face.
"It's been too long, didn't you miss me?" Enid asked pitifully as she pulled away slightly. I leaned down and kissed her gently.
"Of course, I missed you so much," I said tenderly. Enid melted in my arms and hugged me even tighter. I sighed with pleasure before looking at Ravel, who had stayed a couple of steps behind Enid. "Ravel," I said lovingly as I extended my free hand in her direction.
With permission given, Ravel practically grabbed my hand immediately. I pulled her towards me, ignoring Enid, and I hugged her from the side before leaning down and kissing her slowly and deeply.
"I missed you, too, Ravel," I said affectionately. Ravel blushed and cleared her throat.
"I missed you, too," Ravel said honestly, though somewhat embarrassed. I nodded, let them both continue hugging me, and looked up.
"Lucius, Cissy." I said with a smile, and they both nodded.
"Sera, you were gone for a long time," Cissy mocked, and I rolled my eyes.
"Okay, let me introduce you to two of them and a possible new member." I said as I awkwardly turned around, still with the girls on top of me.
"Everyone, these are Rebecca, my new Pawn, Riveria, my fiancée, and Lucy, who might join us." I introduced myself to the new people. Enid and Ravel separated from me and began to look at the new people.
"Girls, these are Ravel and Enid, my bishops and fiancées, then there's Lucius and his fiancée Narcissa, my pawns, my best friends, my family. Narcissa is Bellatrix's sister, and Lucius is practically my brother." I said affectionately as I introduced them all.
"Nice colors." Rebecca said as she looked at Enid, who practically bounced.
"I like yours," she said playfully. "Very exotic," she added playfully before looking at Lucy. "And I love your hair, it's simply spectacular." Enid sighed as she looked at Lucy.
"Thanks, yours isn't so bad," Lucy added gently.
"Welcome to the Prince mansion, all three of you. It's a pleasure to meet you. I hope we get along well," Ravel said as she grabbed her skirt and bowed respectfully.
"The pleasure is all ours, thank you for having us," Riveria said, bowing slightly.
"Come on, we have snacks prepared. I'm sure you've been talking for a long time. It's better to get to know each other over some tea and dessert," Lucius said gently, smiling gallantly.
"You go, please, look after them for a few minutes. I'll be right there, I have to punish a wayward fiancée, and I can't delay it any longer," I said firmly. I could see Narcissa grimace.
"Don't be soft on her. Bella can be stubborn, and she likes to push certain boundaries; she'll keep doing it if you don't set limits." Narcissa warned, and I sighed as I nodded.
"I know, don't worry, I've got it under control." I smiled wearily, glanced once more at the three new members, and nodded gently.
"I won't be long." I promised. Rebecca sighed.
"Have fun punishing her. From what I saw, I'm sure she'll enjoy it," Rebecca said with a perverted smile. I rolled my eyes.
"Don't be too hard on her, I'm not particularly upset, this... is really a great opportunity for so many things." Riveria said gently, and I nodded.
Sigh, well, it's time to punish Bellatrix.
