Chapter 318 - Rank 6 Dream Nail

Minutes before Fang Dang Blessed Land's invasion.

'I have already deduced a great deal about the seller.' Lo Jik paced around in a cave. He had already taken in his human path blessed land. 'Keeping a small portion of that Nightmare Demonic Colt's flesh I gave to Huang'er was a wise choice. It was a valuable clue.'

Lo Jik's wisdom path attainment wasn't for a show. While he usually displayed its use in deducing killer moves, recipes, and gu houses, wisdom path also specialized in deducing and investigating truths. When paired with his information path gu worms and methods, Lo Jik was equipped to quickly deduce the truth… only that he hit an obstruction.

'The owner must be in a blessed land. Only the boundary of a small world and grotto-heaven can reliably defend against such deductions but they aren't foolproof or wisdom path wouldn't be so feared to this day.'

Lo Jik sensed with his intuition.

He felt that meeting this seller was one of his greatest opportunities yet—a sensation birthed by his luck path attainment. How could Lo Jik ignore it?

He modified his wisdom path killer move and added space path gu worms in the mix. It wasn't long before Lo Jik breached this line of defense and quickly accumulated a lot of deduction results.

'So, it's a mortal… a pair of mortals that inherited a blessed land.'

The gears in Lo Jik's head kicked into an overdrive. He accepted Nine Winds Immortal's demands and completed the transaction, exchanging an information path gu worm which was tampered by Lo Jik using his refinement path methods to leave a mortal killer move inside of it.

When Fu activated this gu worm, the dream path killer move with enslavement path effect instantly enslaved Fu.

All this might appear effortless on the surface but Lo Jik already made use of luck, space, refinement, enslavement, dream, wisdom, and information paths. He modified a few of his killer moves based on his instincts, another act that most gu immortals would fail to mimic.

What happened next was as one might expect.

Lo Jik enslaved Fu, extracted the dream path immortal gu from inside Nu using Accumulation Immortal Gu and dream path killer moves before enslaving the little sister, too.

He knew one person couldn't be the land spirit's master, but couldn't he simply control the siblings?

And just like that, Lo Jik obtained another blessed land—a blessed land that possessed a dream path resource point!

He didn't stay there for long. He also didn't touch the dream path resource point. Instead, he left behind a great number of his clones to develop the blessed land and prepare for subsequent tribulations.

'Those two had a great luck.' Lo Jik recalled the visual representation of their luck. Fu's luck was vast yet fluid. It resembled a green wind that was light and pure. Meanwhile, Nu's luck, although considerably weakened, appeared to be a colorful nail. These two had grand lucks no different from gu immortals. The pair was likely to achieve this stage if nothing bad had happened.

But Lo Jik did happen.

Nu's luck weakened because she acquired her fortuitous encounter.

A dream path immortal gu!

This was a great fortune, which consumed a significant portion of her luck. If not for this, her luck might just be second to Feng Jin Huang's in terms of natural luck.

'They both possessed dream path immortal gu worms.'

Feng Jin Huang had Dream Wings Immortal Gu, but it did not consume too much of her luck because of her parents nurturing her. Nu wasn't like that. She did not boast a great background. And what Fang Dang land spirit and Fu failed to realize was that the rank 6 dream path immortal gu embedded into Nu's mind was not there to harm her. In her deep sleep, Nu was somehow capable of refining the immortal gu. She had merely refined a fraction of a percent, but with time, she was destined to gain a dream path immortal gu as a mortal!

Alas, Lo Jik placed extraordinary emphasis on his luck path intuition and managed to capitalize on Nu's weakened luck, becoming the greatest winner in this uneventful event.

Lo Jik retrieved the immortal gu worm.

Something materialized in Lo Jik's right hand with a flash of milky-white glow. Its appearance was quite distinct and did not look like a bug. Instead, this rank 6 immortal gu worm was a glowing, pure-white nail sword. It was the length of an adult's forearm and existed in material plane unlike most dream path gu worms.

'A dream path immortal gu worm.'

Lo Jik's gaze shimmered.

'My dream path immortal gu worm.'

He thought back on invasion in Lang Ya Blessed Land. Nobody could have obstructed his path if only he possessed this immortal gu at the time.

While still unclear about most of its mystery—including its requirement for food, Lo Jik instinctively knew it was a dream path offensive immortal gu worm. Furthermore, it was the kind that did not rely on immortal essence.

'Dream Nail Immortal Gu.' Lo Jik named it without much thought. He traced the edge of the immortal gu with his index finger. He didn't spend a long time admiring the newest addition of immortal gu to the list. Dreamer Immortal Gu was to research the immortal gu worm within his blessed land as Lo Jik focused on the grey egg that appeared to be dead.

'It will take a while before the core beast develops fully and hatches. The greater the rank of the core beast, the longer the time it needs to hatch. I already used a few time path gu worms to hasten the process but I didn't dare go overboard. Love Gu had hijacked the formation in the middle and changed the end result. I don't know what kind of core beast will emerge from the egg.'

Lo Jik worked his jaw and started flying south-west. He moved and stopped constantly. Every time he stopped, he would use Anywhere Door to return to the blessed land fill Hu Mei Er's needs 'daily.' This was a different kind of dedication.

River water ebbed and flowed as it collected near the end of its path and continuously nourished a peculiar marsh alight with a divine purple glow and the resounding zapping noises. From a bird's point of view, a branching tributary of a river flowed from east to west, ending at this spot. This area was once a deep blue lake sustaining a multitude of flora and fauna. However, two ancient desolate beasts fought in this location several centuries ago, devastating the region with lightning and wood path dao marks. The result of the battle was unknown, but the conflict permanently changed the ecosystem.

Ancient desolate beasts boasted thousands of dao marks on their bodies. Their attacks carved their surroundings with these dao marks. Though a majority of the lightning and wood path dao marks dissipated in a few years, a small portion of them acclimated with the environment and started supporting it instead. This resulted in the creation of a unique material useful to refine both wood and lightning path dao marks. The continuously flowing river also inundated the surrounding land and years of natural development led to the creation of a marsh that glowed purple at night. It looked ethereal and mesmerizing. Thin arcs of purple lightning zapped in the air as if the light was dancing itself.

Whoever ventured into this marsh had to deal with the unending stretch of green-colored reeds. Mysteriously enough, sparks of purple lightning crackled and buzzed whenever the reeds touched against each other. The constant gusts of wind ensured that the entire region radiated this purple glow. These arcs of lightning electrocuted the gu masters. They were especially dangerous when the river water flooded the marsh and turned the entire area into a restricted death zone.

Years later, as the marsh developed naturally, it started producing immortal materials that boosted the success rate of refining lightning and wood path immortal gu worms by a slight margin. Several lightning and wood path experts fought over this treasure, most of them being lone and demonic gu immortals, until one of the ten great ancient sects near this resource point controlled it for themselves.

Nowadays, Purple Lightning Marsh provided a huge stock of rank 6 immortal materials to Myriad Dragon Dock consistently and even rank 7 immortal materials every other decade. It was undoubtedly a large resource point, an asset that Myriad Dragon Dock protected with an immortal formation. Such a formation was hidden ordinarily until it was activated with all its might.

'A lightning path formation that's nearly 10% activated and can defend against three rank 6 immortal killer moves passively.' Lo Jik observed and investigated. It was clear to him that this immortal formation had the ability to defend against rank 7 gu immortals. As he investigated, he couldn't help but sigh at the foundation of an ancient sect. He considered ways of breaking this formation and then he spent a few minutes deducing ways to simply sneak inside of it.

These two methods had different advantages and disadvantages.

Sneaking in was the most efficient method if he wanted to steal the resources produced by the resource point. It created no commotion and avoided unnecessary conflicts.

Meanwhile, unable to avoid attention, breaking the formation and getting rid of the gu immortal holed inside was the quickest way to steal the resource point itself.

Lo Jik wasn't here to do either. After fulfilling his desire of deducing the methods to unravel the formation in his mind, he decided against targeting the formation itself.

He descended from the sky and flew down the clouds, letting his gu immortal aura envelop a small region. Several times more impressive was the legendary immortal gu on his shoulder—Love. While descending, Lo Jik casually drank a top-tier wine from his golden gourd before securing it to his waist.

"Get out here, you piece of trash!" Lo Jik shouted, using sound path gu worms to amplify his curse. "I heard you took great pleasure in challenging other gu immortals before Song Zi Xing beat you half to death! Hahaha! You should change your name from Vicious Lightning Fiend to Used Lightning Chrysanthemum!"

"You dare run your mouth against me, Fickle Consort?!" A loud voice retorted as the formation protecting Purple Lightning Marsh let out a gu immortal from a tiny gap. Lightning coursed around him as his vicious glare pinned the floating Lo Jik. Like Lo Jik, this individual was also a rank 6 gu immortal. Unlike Lo Jik, however, this gu immortal was renowned for his astonishing battle strength. He was a rank 6 gu immortal who challenged several rank 6 and 7 gu immortals, only losing and achieving a draw once against two different gu immortals.

He was Myriad Dragon Dock's Vicious Lightning Fiend, a gu immortal whose battle strength surpassed ordinary rank 7 gu immortals by a shocking margin.

"Haha! Did it remind you of running from Song Zi Xing?" Lo Jik's words stabbed at Vicious Lightning Fiend.

He was a peak rank 6 gu immortal who had endured two of his heavenly tribulations and was a step away from rank 7. Achieving a great breakthrough in his cultivation, he challenged many heroes of Central Continent. But it was all a ploy to lure and ambush one of Myriad Dragon Dock's former supreme elder, Song Zi Xing. Gu immortals of all the ten great ancient sects participated in this ambush but still failed. Not only did Song Zi Xing escape, he also injured Vicious Lightning Fiend in this battle.

"Shut up, scoundrel!" Vicious Lightning Fiend gritted his teeth. "You killed Old Sword Immortal and now seek to trouble me? What are you planning? Do you truly think you can defeat me?"

Lo Jik's lips curled mockingly.

"I thought about fighting you after defeating Old Sword Immortal. That's right, didn't you also challenge Old Sword Immortal and defeat him? A pity, you were unaware of his demonic nature or you could have gained the honor of killing him. No matter. I intend to challenge you. Isn't it more exciting to fight you—someone who challenged and won against so many rank 6 gu immortals—than to sit back and wait for them to challenge me?"

Lo Jik spoke eagerly but the hidden meaning behind his words made Vicious Lightning Fiend thin his lips.

The tallest trees often attracted lightning and broke down due to strong winds. Earlier, Lo Jik was too bright. He attracted everyone's attention and was bound to enter a cycle of constant challenges from other gu immortals until he was entirely spent.

Lo Jik's scheme was to kill a lone gu immortal and find trouble with the ancient sect that sponsored the unlucky gu immortal. Old Sword Immortal just happened to be the unluckiest of the bunch.

When Lo Jik asked others to forge evidence, he knew the matter would end up getting exposed because he left too many clues. As such, gu immortals from the other nine sects could realize his plan and take a step back once he picked fight with any one of the nine sects. This evidence was not part of a grand scheme. It was simply an act of establishing a reason to seek trouble with others. Righteous path excelled in this aspect.

The ten ancient sects were a disunited force until Heavenly Court stepped in. As such, once Lo Jik started finding trouble with Black Heaven Temple, the other sects would definitely not interfere and watch their rivals weaken each other.

'But that's not what happened. Fairy Yi and First Supreme Elder must also be aware of my intentions, so they specifically chose me for this mission.' Lo Jik thought internally.

Now, Lo Jik picked a fight with Vicious Lightning Fiend. It was the same case as the tallest tree attracting lightning because Vicious Lightning Fiend had been in the spotlight as the strongest rank 6 gu immortal in Central Continent.

It stood to reason he would be the most likely choice for Lo Jik to target if he wanted all the other lone gu immortals to back down from challenging him.

"Hmph! I see." Vicious Lightning Fiend snorted coldly. "Then let's talk about wager."

"Wager? I'm here to break every single bone in your body!"

"What?—"

Vicious Lightning Fiend didn't get a chance to respond as he instinctively activated his lightning path killer move to defend against the flash of milky-white strength qi.

Immortal killer move—Self Dharma!

"What kind of a rabid dog did Spirit Affinity House raise? How can a gu immortal conduct themselves in this fashion?!" Vicious Lightning Fiend was outraged. Heck, even he properly discussed wager with his opponents instead of charging them headfirst. While he sparred with others, he did not lack a sense of courtesy despite ending up as the superior party in terms of battle strength.

Battle strength was merely a part of the gu immortal's collective cultivation. There were still many times that gu immortals collaborated in different matters and it was best to avoid offending everyone.

Apparently, Lo Jik did not receive that information path gu.

An elegant six-meter tall glowing dragonman struck the defensive lightning globe and sent it far away before flying forward and chasing it.

"Don't go too far!"

A blue flash left Vicious Lightning Fiend and transformed into a humanoid individual made from lightning.

"Is this your Lightning Deity killer move? The one you made after killing countless innocents and researching one of Blood Sea Ancestor's true inheritance—Blood Deity?"

Vicious Lightning Fiend instantly screamed in horror and retorted at once. This Fickle Consort Immortal was too devious!

"Slanders! Utter slanders! How can I every be corrupted by blood path? I researched this Lightning Deity killer move all on my own! Die!"

The lightning puppet flashed and attacked Lo Jik. The latter smiled.

"Die? We are all gu immortals from the ten great ancient sects? Do you actually dare kill me? Hehe, truly a demon. No wonder you researched blood path."

Vicious Lightning Fiend entered secluded cultivation and eventually made a breakthrough, deducing a lightning path immortal killer move—Lightning Deity. He challenged dozens of gu immortals on the basis of this immortal killer move. One could imagine its might.

"Stop twisting the truth with your lies!"

Vicious Lightning Fiend and the lightning puppet attacked at once. Lo Jik finally appeared slightly somber as he retreated quickly while conjuring his bow and raining down countless arrows on the two lightning-clad warriors.

Lightning Deity was a sophisticated killer move that refined these lightning puppets using immortal materials. The lightning puppet followed Vicious Lightning Fiend's command and most impressively—it had rank 6 battle strength!

Vicious Lightning Fiend's movement killer move was obviously more impressive than Old Sword Immortal. He fluidly moved through the arrows in a lightning-quick speed. Lightning crackled every time the lightning puppet zapped through the spots and chased Lo Jik.

The gu immortals of the other nine ancient sects researched this immortal killer move and soon found some traces similar to Blood Sea Ancestor's Blood Deity Immortal Gu. Rumors started flying about this matter but Myriad Dragon Dock refuted all these claims… even when they used this fact itself to lure a blood path demon like Song Zi Xing.

The world was a complicated place indeed.

"Is that all? How pitiful!" Lo Jik laughed carefreely as he kept attacking using his bow. "I heard you managed to refine three lightning puppets. Alas, you were unlucky enough to attract Song Zi Xing's demonic attention. Maybe you are the next Song Zi Xing. Your sect does nurture quite a few demons."

Even though such words did not affect Vicious Lightning Fiend, he had to act quickly and respond to such accusations to preserve the sect's reputation. It was more than likely that Lo Jik was recording the entire confrontation.

"You only know how to speak bullshit!"

Vicious Lightning Fiend suddenly pointed at the lightning puppet.

*Bzzt*

Another lightning puppet emerged from the first puppet and instantly reached Lo Jik.

*Boom*

It struck Lo Jik's head and sent him flying!
