Early the next morning, the gates of the Magic Academy were already crowded with many humans.
These were people who had long been interested in magic but had previously been eliminated because of their lack of talent.
Most of them were young, since for those a little older, even if they had magical aptitude, their learning ability could not keep up. They simply lacked the patience to sit down and study theoretical knowledge.
Take someone like the brawny Brueglas, for example. Asking him to sit quietly in a classroom with a book to study the fundamentals of magical theory would practically kill him.
The study of magic was not just a matter of magical aptitude—it also required the ability to learn, comprehend, and memorize.
In this regard, young people had a distinct advantage.
Just like in the world of Harry Potter, wizards with talent would graduate from academies, yet the results varied drastically. Some became destructive figures like Grindelwald, capable of wiping out a city, while others ended up as useless weaklings who couldn't even defeat an ordinary person.
That was why those who were unsuited for magic were better off learning close-combat techniques from the elves or forging skills from the dwarves instead of struggling with spells.
"I'm so excited! I can't believe we actually have another chance to become magicians!"
"Right? When I heard the clan leader announce it yesterday, I was so thrilled I couldn't sleep all night."
"The Dean is truly incredible—he actually found a way for us to become magicians."
"Of course! Don't forget, the Dean is the very first human magician, the founder of this academy. He once repelled the orc army and saved the Elven City, and he even rode thousands of miles through the mountains to rescue the Elven Crown Prince from a canyon."
"I also heard the Dean can transform into a dragon. Is that true?"
"Of course it's true! My older brother was tested to have magical aptitude before and studied here at the Academy. He heard it from his elven classmates. Supposedly, on that day, the Dean was traveling with Princess Lucian and Princess Galadriel when suddenly…"
"The Dean is amazing! But tell me, do you think he likes Princess Lucian or Princess Galadriel more?"
"It has to be Princess Lucian! My brother told me she's considered the most beautiful and gentle princess in all the Elven race."
"I disagree. I think it's Princess Galadriel. She single-handedly slew a Balrog at the eastern front line not long ago!"
"Princess Lucian is actually Princess Galadriel's aunt!"
"..."
Even before George and the others arrived, the young humans waiting at the gates were already talking fervently. Nearly every topic revolved around George.
In their eyes, George was a living legend—a human who had achieved countless feats that even elves found astonishing.
And not just humans. Even many elves and dwarves admired him greatly.
Many elves owed their lives to George's rescues, while the dwarves revered his unmatched smithing skills. Time and again, he had crafted weapons and equipment that left even dwarven craftsmen in awe.
"Look, the gates are opening!"
At that moment, the grand gates of the Magic Academy slowly opened, and a breathtakingly beautiful elf, like a fairy descending from the heavens, walked out from within. She smiled gently and said:
"I am Lucian, Vice Dean of the Magic Academy. Please line up in two rows—men on one side, women on the other—and follow me into the academy."
"Oh, by the heavens, that's Princess Lucian herself! She's just… too beautiful…"
The boys and girls stared at the elf princess standing before them, her radiance dimming even the world around her. Their minds nearly went blank, overwhelmed by her presence.
It took them a long while to recover and hastily arrange themselves into two neat lines, following behind Lucian toward the academy.
"All right, you win. Now I also think Princess Lucian is the one most suited for the Dean."
Lucian was unsurprised by their reaction—she had long grown accustomed to it.
Not only humans—even many elves reacted the same way upon seeing her, often requiring a long adjustment period before they could face her normally.
In fact, it was precisely because of her beauty that she had once been kidnapped by newly arrived Noldor elf princes—none other than the sons of Fëanor.
"Wow, this is amazing!"
Upon entering the Magic Academy, the young humans were again astonished.
They saw statues that moved and spoke, diligently sweeping floors, trimming trees, and caring for the grounds, all amidst an environment so dazzlingly beautiful it took their breath away.
They had already been stunned by the splendor of Elven City upon arrival, but now, standing inside the Academy, they realized the city paled in comparison.
Led by Lucian, they crossed the central plaza, entered the grand castle, and passed through the ornate entrance hall before arriving at the great hall. Once again, they gasped in unison.
"It's enormous!"
Indeed, from the outside, the great hall looked no more than three to four hundred square meters. But upon stepping inside, it felt like entering an entirely new world. Looking up, they even saw a blazing sun shining overhead.
George had expanded the hall using the Extension Charm, and much like Newt's enchanted suitcase, he had carefully arranged its interior.
The sun above was, of course, an artificial construct conjured by a lighting spell.
Yet while the great hall appeared to be a miniature world, it was fundamentally different from George's own private pocket realm.
The Extension Charm merely enlarged the physical space; the laws of the hall were still identical to those of the outside world and offered no special boost to his power.
But in George's personal world, the laws themselves were of his own making. There, he was the master of everything, able to suppress his enemies while drastically enhancing his own strength.
Inside the hall, three long tables stretched out—one for elves, one for dwarves, and one for humans.
Among them, elves were the most numerous, followed by dwarves, with humans being the least.
At the far end of the tables was a floating platform of clouds. At its very center sat George, the Academy's Dean. Flanking him were elven princes and princesses, with the Academy's teachers seated further behind.
"Step onto the cloud elevators."
Lucian pointed toward the two platforms at the entrance of the great hall. The students split into two lines and stood upon them. With a gentle infusion of magic, the platforms immediately began to rise.
"Hold on tightly."
Lucian gave a soft reminder before unfurling a pair of pure white wings from her back. She guided the two cloud elevators upward, carrying the new students to the floating platform.
"No doubt about it—she really is a half-god elf. Her magical talent is extraordinary."
George smiled as he watched Lucian lead the students to the platform and gave her a nod.
"Let's begin."
He had learned many forms of elven magic from Lucian, and in turn had taught her plenty of his own—spells like the Levitation Charm, Apparition, Light Magic, and various elemental spells.
His main intention was for Lucian to take over many of the teaching duties, giving him more time to focus on other matters.
Though Lucian wasn't particularly passionate about studying magic, her overwhelming talent made it impossible for her not to excel. With ease, she mastered nearly everything she learned. Eventually, she became the Academy's Vice Dean, often substituting for George in classes.
"In a moment, when I call your name, step forward and sit on the chair. Then close your eyes."
Lucian opened the new student roster.
"Hannah!"
A blonde-haired girl nervously walked up the cloud steps and sat down on the chair.
At that moment, George flipped his hand, and a hat appeared in his palm.
"Go!"
The hat flew through the air and landed on the girl's head. Instantly, she felt strange patterns flooding into her mind, while a warm current began flowing through her body.
