The Super Magic George unleashed by sacrificing his physical vitality possessed power that was undeniably at the level of a True God.
The remnant Black Emperor power within Roselle, stripped of its Uniqueness and Beyonder characteristics, no longer reached the level of a True God. Those essential components were currently held in the hands of the Loen royal family. Furthermore, while the Mother Goddess of Depravity was formidable, she was hindered by the "barrier" of the Original Creator and could not project significant power. This was compounded by the fact that it was currently daytime, rather than a full or red moon.
Consequently, the moment George's Fairy Law was enacted, every entity he designated as an enemy was met with ruthless, divine judgment and destroyed.
"Sequence 0... this guy is definitely a Sequence 0 True God!"
Bernadette stared at George, her eyes filled with sheer terror. As the daughter of Roselle, the former Princess of Intis, the founder and leader of the Element Dawn, and the "Mystic Queen"—one of the four Kings of the Seven Seas—she was no stranger to power. She had witnessed the strength of a Sequence 1 and could even briefly manifest that level of power herself by pushing certain Sealed Artifacts to their limits.
However, George's recent strike had unequivocally surpassed the boundaries of Sequence 1. Most strikingly, George appeared entirely unburdened after the feat, showing no signs of exhaustion. Combined with his previous statements, Bernadette was now certain: George was a being on par with a Sequence 0 True God.
"Old friend, you're way too overpowered!"
Klein was equally stunned. He knew George was formidable, but he hadn't imagined him reaching this level of divinity. Nevertheless, this was a welcome development. The stronger George was, the higher the chances of rescuing Roselle and the safer this entire endeavor would be. Once Roselle was saved, Klein would effectively have two True God-level "fellow transmigrators" backing him. He could practically coast through the future.
"Done!"
George waved his hand and led Bernadette and Klein through the grand entrance of Roselle's mausoleum. The interior was cavernous and empty, save for deep black walls and a central dais holding a throne sized for a giant. The seat was vacant, seemingly awaiting the return of its Emperor.
"Eyes of Mystery Prying!"
Bernadette reached up and brushed her forehead, causing a third eye to manifest. This triggered a shift within the tomb as a massive shadow materialized before the trio, letting out a howl of agony.
"I am contaminated! Leave... get out of here!"
This was none other than the soul of the deceased Roselle. When George cleared the influence of the Mother Goddess of Depravity from the exterior of the tomb, the corruption within Roselle had lessened, allowing him to regain a shred of sanity. Yet, he knew the horror of the Mother Goddess all too well; it wouldn't be long before his mind was unraveled again, pulling him back into the endless struggle. When that happened, he would be forced to attack them. Recognizing his beloved eldest daughter, Bernadette, he desperately wanted to spare her from harm.
"Father!"
Unbearable grief washed over Bernadette's eyes. At that moment, cracks began to spider across Roselle's soul, with faint moonlight threatening to burst through the fissures. Roselle frantically used shadows to stitch the wounds shut, trying to block the light, but for every crack he mended, several more appeared.
"Old Huang, don't panic! Let me give you a hand!"
George raised his hand, summoning a magic circle above Roselle's head. Fairy Law was invoked once more.
"I will not let you go!"
A brilliant, radiant power enveloped Roselle's shadow, forcibly purging the blood-red moonlight. A final, resentful scream echoed through the mausoleum before fading into nothingness.
With the corruption of the Mother Goddess removed, Roselle's full consciousness returned. He took on the majestic form of the Emperor as depicted on the Blasphemy Card. He opened his eyes and looked directly at George and Klein.
"The Heaven King covers the Earth Tiger!"
"The Pagoda suppresses the River Monster."
"Chicken stewed with mushrooms."
George and Klein shared a look and smiled, offering their respective counters with a touch of helplessness. Roselle understood instantly; his hunch was correct.
The words George had spoken earlier were not Loen, Dutan, Highland, Jotun, Elvish, or even Ancient Hermes or Feysac. It was Mandarin. And he had called him "Old Huang," not Roselle. He had suspected from the start that the two men accompanying his daughter might be fellow countrymen. This little test confirmed it.
"We can do the thank-yous later. Talk to your daughter first; we'll wait outside."
George motioned to Roselle and led Klein out of the mausoleum, giving the father and daughter some private time.
"Thank you!"
Roselle nodded, his face etched with gratitude, as he embraced his daughter, who could no longer hold back her tears.
"I never thought my little princess would truly become a big shot in the mystic world, capable of saving her poor old father..."
Outside the tomb, Klein asked curiously, "Did you tell Bernadette everything from Roselle's diaries?"
Huang Tao's diaries were... "intimate" to say the least. If his daughter read the details, it would be the ultimate social death for the Emperor.
"No, I only read a small portion to gain her trust earlier," George said, his lips curling into a slight smirk. "However, one of those parts was about the Demonesses."
"That's..."
Klein looked back at the mausoleum with a look of profound pity, muttering, "Some people are dead but still live, while others are technically alive but already dead."
"I had no choice. If I hadn't, Bernadette would have insisted I translate every single entry. Then his origins from before the First Epoch would have been exposed too."
George shrugged, though it was mostly an excuse for his own mischievous streak. Klein didn't press the issue, his sharp mind seeing right through George's justification.
Inside, the father and daughter spoke for over an hour before their emotions settled and they finally emerged. However, just as they reached the exit, Bernadette suddenly turned to her father.
"Father, now that you've returned, you may find a new Queen—but you are not allowed to find any more Demonesses!"
"De... De... Mo..."
Roselle's body stiffened. After a long pause, he coughed and tried to adopt a stern, dignified expression. "Don't talk nonsense. My heart belongs only to your mother; why would I look for a Queen? I was contaminated back then, my mind was clouded. I wrote a lot of gibberish in those diaries that wasn't even true."
"Oh?"
Bernadette elongated the sound playfully and, without waiting for further explanation, stepped out of the tomb with a light pace. Before her father, the powerful figure of the mystic world seemed to have reverted to the young girl she once was.
"Here, have some sunflower seeds."
George, whose ears had caught every word of the conversation inside, smiled inwardly as he materialized a handful of seeds and offered them to Klein.
