"Codex: Spirit Arts, Onmyōdō and Onmyōji
Unlike Magic and Bending, Spirit Arts is an attribute created by Spiria, one that has developed in areas of Azeroth. Similar to the Mana that powers Magic, the Spiria is an essential component of the Bending.
At the same time, Benders are using only one part of the Spiria, which is leaning more toward the physical aspect of the Spiria, while the users of the Spirit Arts, could use the Physical Aspect and Spiritual Aspect of the Spiria in perfect coordination.
The Spiria is the mystical essence that one uses to create Spirit Arts techniques and spells, and is also used in the Bending Arts. However, it is noted that the pure Spirit Arts, the Onmyōdō, are much stronger and potent against the Dark Attirubuted beings like Evil Spirits and Demons...
One could say that, like Light and Holy Magic, the Spirit Arts are the nemesis of the Evil Beings, as they would be directly exorcised from the face of the earth.
The development of the Spirit Arts started in the Fire Nation, probably along with the early development of the Bending Arts. Due to the simplistic nature of the Bending Arts compared to the Spirit Arts themselves, not many people have decided to continue developing the Spirit Arts.
A certain kind of resurgence of the Spirit Arts came after the rise of Fire Lord Aenarion Septim, but due to the scarcity of resources, the true resurgence of interest in the Spirit Arts came only after the Great Shift.
Psijic Order, under the leadership of Irene Belserion, created a whole system for the Spirit Arts, which combined the knowledge of the Empress herself about the Spirit Arts that were coming from Spirit Arts of different Otherworlds, while the second part came from the Fire Nation's own Spirit Arts.
The result of that was the creation of the Imperial-Style Onmyōdō.
A revolutionary Magic system created by Irene Belserion after gathering, breaking down, rebuilding, and refining old Onmyōdō at the behest of the Imperial Military. It is the culmination of all of the Fire Nation's Spirit Arts and knowledge. Because it was created for Military purposes, it removed many of the religious and abstract elements of the old Spirit Arts of the Fire Nation, as the Imperial-Style focused more on practicality.
Sacred Phoenix Empire is the sole place in Azeroth that widely uses Onmyōdō and Onmyōji, where they are becoming increasingly popular, especially due to the fact that even ordinary Mages or Benders could use at least the Summoning Technique to summon and bind Shikigami.
Shikigami are a type of familiar used by practitioners of Onmyōdo. The term 'Shikigami' refers to servants that Onmyōji manipulated, 'shiki' meaning 'servitude', and shikigami being 'spirits who serve their practitioner'. They are the partners and guards of the practitioner, and to put it roughly, they were servants or slaves, even 'tools'.
The more skilled a practitioner is, the more precision and control they can exert over their shikigami. A high-level practitioner can even synchronize with their Familiar to the point where they can feel what they do. In addition, the master's Magic can't harm the shinigami.
Shikigamis are very similar to the Familiars used by the Mages, with the clear distinction being that it was easier to contract a Shikigami. Even people with a small amount of Spiria could contract Shikigami if they want.
The most famous Shikigami include Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga of Emperor Aenarion, Tsuchigumos used by the Phoenix Crownsguard or Hokuto of Queen Azula."

Deadwind Pass, One Week Later
One week after the Jungle Troll War had started, the entire situation was progressing far better than was initially anticipated.
The combined forces of the Fire Nation and Stormwind were advancing together as one under the command of their respective rulers, though, for better efficiency and making use of everything, they were in mixed units.
Just as Aenarion had predicted, once they had weakened the Bloodscalp Tribe, Darkspear Tribe, and Skullsplitter Tribe by a significant degree, the Gurubashi Tribe started suppressing the three tribes.
Especially aiming at the Darkspear Tribe because the Darkspear Tribe were the long-rivals of the Gurubashi Tribe from the times of the Gurubashi Troll Empire. And once the conflicts started, it was impossible to put them down...
Another piece of good news was that, in a few days, Expeditionary Forces of Khaz-Modan would arrive at the Lakeshire. The Expeditionary Forces of Khaz-Modan consisted of the troops from Ironforge and Gnomeregan, as both factions directly sent their support for the war.
Lakeshire, sometimes also called informally as Lakewookd, is a human town that sits on the banks of the majestic and large Lake Everstill. It is located in the Redridge Mountains, and it was one of Stormwind's newer cities.
The dwarves of Ironforge had a very strong friendship with Stormwind, be it the trade as they were one of the primary trading partners, but also due to the various dangers in the south, like Trolls and other hostile creatures.
And then there was the fact that both Ironforge and Gnomeregan wanted to test their newest contraptions that were either converted to use the Orbal Technology or were outright built with the newest Orbal Technology.
The Khaz-Modan Expeditionary Forces would march from the Lakeshire to the south, effectively cutting the escape routes of the Jungle Trolls that would have wanted to avoid the piercer attacks.
Obviously, the Dwarves and Gnomes were dangerous even before the addition of the Orbal Technology, as they were the sole factions in Azeroth that had already developed any sense of technology, sans the Goblins.
At the same time, Dwarves were fierce warriors, and despite their small build, they were true monsters on the battlefield.
Right now, the three-wave attack on the Jungle Troll Tribal Alliance was seriously paying off. The combined group of Fire-Storm was pushing from the west, from the direction of Karazhan, the Fire Nation Fleet was pushing from the East, from the Marshtides and Bogpaddle, and now, there would be a third, the Khaz-Modan Expeditionary Forces that would be pushing from the north.
If everything went according to plan, they would annihilate all major Troll resistance within the entire area, and move onto the capital of the Gurubashi Tribe, the Zul'Gurub, and destroy their forces once and for all.
The goal was to destroy all major forts, cities, towns, and places of gathering for the Jungle Trolls. Everoyne agreed that annihilating the Jungle Trolls, which was something that Stromwind especially wanted, was impossible.
They didn't have enough manpower to scour the entire Jungles and Forests of the southern Azeroth, and the losses would be...
Not really worth it.
As long as they destroyed any semblance of order, organization, and force that the Jungle Trolls possessed and killed all of their leaders, it would be far more than enough. Because of the almost non-existent civilization of the Trolls, one needed to know that they had not even recovered from the destruction of their Troll Empires many centuries ago.
As long as they cleared out the entire Black Morass and Swamp of Sorrows from the Jungle Trolls, it would be enough. When that was done, all three Armeis would jointly go to the Zul'Gurub and then Zul'Kunda, which would be the last major gathering place for the Jungle Trolls.
The bleak swamp of the Black Morass was originally a land of marshes and low hills, bayous and backwaters, failed settlements and lurking danger. The Morass Road crossed the swamp. The humans of Stormwind usually stayed on the roads, and they didn't dare to wander into he depths of the Black Morass due to the Trolls and other creatures living there.
"The last message that we got from the Fire Group Army is that they managed to destroy the Temple of Atal'Hakkar completely, and even another Avatar of the Hakkar, the Soulflayer, has been killed in the action by a powerful Legendary Level Mage."
Aenarion said as they gathered on the strategy room of the Grimoire Heart battleships. Aside from the Military Officers of the Fire Nation and Aenarion's wives, there were also those of the Stormwind participating in.
What was more eye-catching, though, was the presence of a relatively young-looking Mage in purple Mage robes holding a staff with an engraved Raven on the top of the Mage Staff. It was the current Guardian of Tirisfall, Medivh, who had joined the war against the Jungle Trolls after he was called by the King of Stormwind.
Even though Aenarion dared to fight against the Avatar of the Hakkar the Soulflayer, and even now, he would do so, because he had consolidated his powers as Champion Level Bender and Chi Master...
Against a true body?
That was most probably not... it was for sure a Demigod Level being?
No chance.
But Guardian?
Who was Legendary Level Mage in his base state, and if he used all of his power, the power as Guardian, he would be able to deal with Hakkar the Soulflayer rather easily. When Aenarion fought the Avatar, he destroyed it, which cost the Loa of Blood a lot of Divine Power.
Now it was weakened significantly.
Most probably, it falls into the early stages of the Demigod Level.
This was giving them a window of opportunity to achieve something unseen since the end of the Troll Wars 2,700 years ago.
Once their Demigod Loa was dead.
It was for sure that the Gurubhasi Trolls would never rise once again.
"With two Avatars completely destroyed... the power of Hakkar will most probably drop to the Initial Demigod, but his real combat prowess would probably be even weaker. The loss of the Divine Power is too much for him... with decapitation operation, we can kill him for good in the weakened state, and once that happens, the entire Jingle Troll Tribal Alliance would crumble."
It was the Guardian Medivh who spoke this time, because from the people gathered, he knew best how devastating the loss of the Divine Power was for the Demigod, especially one like Hakkar, who attained their Demigod Level due to a combination of worship and sacrifices.
This was indeed the best opportunity to kill the evil Loa of Blood.
"Who would be part of the decapitation strike team? Such responsibility is heavy while at the same time, the chances of dying... are pretty high."
King Wrynn asked this important question that lingered in the air.
Going directly to the heart of the Gurubashi area was nothing short of suicide, while at the same time, it was clear that there was a need for someone to accompany Medivh in the mission, as he would be going to kill the Loa of Blood, who was in a weakened state.
Aeanrion knew that this was a far better result than what was achieved in the Gurubashi War in the canon of World of Warcraft. Though at the same time, in the canon of World of Warcraft, nothing like the Jungle Troll Tribal Alliance existed, and it seemed that it was the butterfly effect of the Fire Nation's presence.
The Fire Lord looked at the young Guardina with great wariness as the man who was possessed by the Spirit of Sargeras would make the Dark Portal Wars incomparably harder and more challenging.
Aenarion didn't doubt that the Horde would come in much bigger numbers and would be much stronger than it was in canon. This was something that they would need to prepare for, but fortunately, they had something around 18 years before the Dark Portal opened in the depths of the Black Morass.
And when it was opened, Aenarion would make sure that the Horde was destroyed and shattered on Azeroth. Perhaps with their allies, they could launch a counter-invasion on Draenor and conquer their world instead.
It would be good to have some colonies and exploit some resources from Draenor before it was destroyed. The Fel has been corrupting the entire world for too long, and it was only a matter of time until the very Life of the planet was completely annihilated, and the world would become a death husk.
"I will go."
Unsurprisingly, it was Anduin Lothar who volunteered to go. The young man and future champion of Azeroth, the Lion of Stormwind, was already a peak Hero Level Warrior despite his very young age.
"I, too."
Though the second person who volunteered to go surprised Aenarion a bit, not only him, but probably most of the people who were in the strategy room, including Anduin Lothar and Medivh.
It was Esdeath Septim.
One of the Queens of the Fire Nation.
Aenarion didn't know how to respond for the first few moments, but he knew that once Esdeath wanted to do something, there was no way that he would be able to convince her to do otherwise.
She had a rather stubborn personality.
"Your Highness... I don't think that this would be suitable... for a Queen of the allied nation to go on a mission that could end with your possible death, is..."
Before King Wrynn could finish the sentence, the sudden aura around Esdeath changed, and now, it was sitting comfortably at the pinnacle of the Hero Level, essentially making her a Champion-ranked powerhouse.
"My Husband isn't the only one Blessed. I myself am Blessed by the God of War, Kaela Mensha Khaine."
Even Aenarion was surprised by this sudden development, because from all of the Gods of the Aeldari Pantheon, Esdeath was even often praying to the God of War, Kaela Mensha Khaine and it seemed that she got the Blessing of the God of War.
"As you wish. Just be careful."
Fortunately, right now, according to everything, it was Medivh who was in control of the body and not Sargeras. Not to mention, Aenarion was sure that Sargeras wouldn't do anything to Esdeath...
If something like that happened, then Aenarion wouldn't give a shit about some relationship with Stormwind and would kill Medivh at any cost. And Sargeras needed this body to achieve his goals at any cost, so that he wouldn't risk it.
"I would also like to go..."
This time, it was Prince Llane, son of King Barathen Wrynn, who volunteered himself on the mission. Despite his seemingly unassuming appearance, he was also a very powerful warrior on his own, though that was to be expected.
Stormwind was a very militaristic kingdom that was constantly fighting and waging war on something or someone.
They were surrounded by enemies from all sides; Trolls were everywhere, other hostiles, and even the Goblins or Dark Iron Dwarves were not the most friendly species around here.
Nevertheless, King Barathen Wrynn let his son go as part of the decaptiation strike team, because it was the duty of the Royal Family of Stormwind. They discussed the next steps, because now that the Eastern Fire Group had an addition in the form of a Legendary Level Mage, they could adjust some plans.
Because the Eastern Fire Group had, at present, a Legendary Level Mage, they could directly advance deeper into the Black Morass, because they had the firepower to do so. The original strategy was that the Fire Fleet would occupy the area of the Swamps of Sorrows and then patrol the region for possible troll movements.

Grimoire Heart, Fire Lord's Personal Chambers
Irene Belserion.
That was the name of the Mage that appeared in the Swamps of Sorrows, and she was, by all accounts, a very powerful Legendary Level Mage. She single-handedly killed Vol'jin... which was a very unexpected pleasant surprise.
Vol'jin would be a pivotal character in the future Horde, the New Horde, also known as Thrall's Horde, to the point where he would be even elected as Chieftain of the Horde.
During Garrosh Hellscream's reign, the faction was plunged into a state of civil war, divided between Hellscream's pan-orc government, which he referred to as the "True Horde", and the Darkspear Rebellion, comprised of the remaining Horde races, as well as orcs that had decided to oppose Garrosh, under the leadership of Vol'jin.
After the Siege of Orgrimmar upon the defeat of Garrosh, Vol'jin was chosen as the new Warchief of the Horde, with every leader supporting the choice, even Thrall himself.
Aenarion was immensely pleased that Vol'jin died, because he was on the list of people to kill. When Aenarion discovered that he was in Azeroth, he made a list of people, which was divided into three categories.
Kill for Sure, Kill if Profitable and Recruit.
Kill for Sure was the category of people that needed to be killed at any cost, like Zul'jin of Amani Troll Tribe, Vol'Jin of the Darkspear Troll Tribe, a few of the Dark Iron Dwarves, and some other people. Most of the people who were on the list were the ones who would be pivotal to the Old Horde and New Horde in the future, or become enemies of the Fire Nation in the future.
The second category was that of Kill if Profitable. Despite everything, there were still some people that Aenarion desired to kill, but in the end, refrained from doing so, because they were more useful alive than dead. Like Kel'Thuzad, Dar'Khan Drathir, or several similar figures who, if killed...
It could prevent a lot of tragedies, but at the same time, it was also a lot of opportunities for the Fire Nation. Lordaeron Continent would be ravaged by the wars, and in the future, it would be ripe for picking.
For that reason, he wasn't planning to keep any territories in the Azeroth Continent in the long run, aside from a small part of the Swamp of Sorrows and perhaps, the Blackrock Mountain where the Shadowforge was located.
The rest could be easily assimilated by Stormwind and the dwarves of Ironforge.
In Aenarion's vision, the future Eastern Kingdoms would be divided between the Alliance and Fire Nation, with the Fire Nation controlling the Lordaeron Continent, sans the Gilneas, and the Alliance controlling the Azeroth and Khaz-Modan, sans the Swamp of Sorrows, Blackrock Mountains, and Goblin Territory.
"Are you sure that you want to go with them as part of the strike team?"
Aenarion asked Esdeath, now that they were alone in his chambers. Azula looked rather envious because even she wanted to participate in the decapitation operation against the Hakkar, the Soulflayer.
"It would be a good opportunity to strengthen the ties with Stormwind. From what I have seen, their reputation as the strongest human kingdom with the most powerful military is not really a lie... even though they are lacking some numbers compared to the Lordaeron Kingdom, they are making it with sheer quality."
Esdeath answered, because the Stormwind was in rather a similar position to that of the Fire Nation. Stormwind had a population of something around 5 million; for example, Lordaeron had a population of something around 30 million people.
Their lands were very fertile and suitable for procreation, so the population was thriving in the north, while the ones in the south were fighting for every square meter of land against Trolls and other creatures that were living in Azeroth and Khaz-Modan.
Still, the troops of Stormwind were top-notch.
"Ts... be careful, you are going against a Demigod... albeit one that was severely weakened."
Aenarion kissed her wife on the forehead.
"I have something more interesting from Vice Commander Yan's report. It seems that Vice Commander Yan managed to find several clans of Kobolds. Seeing the Firebending abilities of the Imperial Bending Legion, they immediately pledged their allegiance to the Fire Nation. Right now, they are wondering what to do with them..."
The Fire Lord raised his eyebrows, hearing that.
Kobolds are a race of diminutive, rat-like subterranean humanoids who dwell in and around caverns and mines throughout the Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor and the Broken Isles. They are not particularly intelligent and are notoriously cowardly, preferring to keep their distance from other, far larger races.
Kobolds were famous for being obsessively protective of the candles they wear upon their heads and which help them light their way through the dark tunnels they call home.
Kobolds are not particularly bright and are considered more an annoyance than a true danger, but they also breed like rabbits and are always found in large numbers wherever they dwell. They were only around one meter tall to one and a half meters tall maximally.
Even though they have excellent vision in low-light conditions, in the darkest recesses of mines and caves, they still need a source of light in order to be able to see, hence their reliance on candles.
Kobolds are slovenly, cowardly, and pathetic by nature, though they can be riled to action when backed into a corner. Fearful of other races and possessing of limited intelligence, they usually try to stay away from populated areas where other, larger races dwell.
They are fearful and skittish, and don't trust what lies beyond their noses. Kobolds are perhaps best known for their penchant for digging and their underground excavations. Even younglings are accomplished miners, able to quickly and carefully dig a tunnel large enough to allow several kobolds to pass.
"Send them back to the Fire Islands through the supply lines, when the empty ships would be returning back to the homeland. We need to watch over them to ensure their loyalty properly, but at the same time, their experiences of digging through the ground are invaluable for us right now."
The Fire Islands were very rich in ores and metals, but the Fire Nationers were never really good miners. This was the area of the Earthbenders, and only after some more civilian technology was introduced did they start mining more and more efficiently.
"As you wish. I will relay the information back to Homeland and Vice Commander Yan."
Azula said that with the addition of the Kobolds to the Fire Nation, they could not only start advanced mining operations in cooperation with Earthbenders. And this wasn't limited solely to that, but they could also start creating underground complexes, like underground forts, vaults, treasures, and so on.
Kobolds were experts at that, as they lived in the underground complexes that they dug out.
"Also... what does the Vice Commander have to say about the Archmage Irene Belserion? Are there any possibilities that we can recruit her to the Fire Nation?"
Right now, the Fire Nation was in the age of rapid development, especially on the magical side of development, but that all depended on the teachings of the High Elves, the economic power of the Fire Nation to fund research of High Elves Magisters in the Fire Nation, and on the trade with the Quel'Thalas.
By all records, Archmage Irene Belserion was someone at the Legendary Level, and for some reason, the name was becoming rather familiar to Aenarion, but he didn't know where he was finding the name familiar.
Nevertheless, if he was in luck, he could negotiate well and obtain Archmage at the Legendary Level for the Fire Nation, and perhaps after some time, the Psijic Order would finally have its Patriarch.
"Ruthless, pragmatic and very powerful... apparently far more than she let on the surface, but she is waiting... she spent most of the time observing how things were working and learning about the Fire Nation. I think that if we are lucky, we could recruit her. The only places with proper Magical Knowledge are Quel'Thalas, but they wouldn't allow a human even to set his gaze on the Silvermoon. That leaves only Dalaran and Stormwind as our primary competitors."
Azula shared the opinions of the Vice Commander Yan, and based on everything, it was clear that the unknown Archmage was a dangerous hunter. According to everything that was gathered, the only competitors were Dalaran and Stormwind.
The Queen of the Fire Nation knew that Stormwind wasn't really a feasible choice, because Stormwind was rather distrustful of the foreigners, and they wouldn't be really keen on giving much power and resources to foreigners.
Even though the foreigner was a Legendary Level Archmage.
At the same time, Dalaran was even less likely due to the paranoia of the Dalaran and the fact that even if she joined the Dalaran outright, they wouldn't give her access to their full knowledge.
Meanwhile, Aenarion was willing to give her access to everything if there was a need for it.

Azeroth Continent, Black Morass and Eastern Northern Stranglethorn Vale Border
It has been one week or so since Irene found herself on Azeroth, in the area that was known as the Swamp of Sorrows. After one week in this world that was called Azeroth, she came into several conflicts in this new world.
First was that, this world was more powerful than Earth Land. According to Vice Captain Yan Di, he was something that was called Hero Level Professional by the Azerothian standards, and Irene was, according to him, on the Legendary Level.
According to the Vice Commander, even the Legendary Level was divided into several categories, where one was even more powerful than the other. What was rather surprising was that there were actually a good number of the Legendaries on Azeroth, according to Vice Commander.
Above the Legendary Level, there were Demigods...
And the power of the Demigods was really something different. Even in this powerful world like Azeroth, the Demigods were not only beings of unimaginable power that could easily flatten entire continents, but they were also embodiments of something.
Which was making them even more dangerous than beings of similar power to her homeworld, like Acnologia. It was rather frightening, though, that this world had apparently at least 10 Demigods, according to Vice Commander Yan Di.
Secondly, the Fire Nation from which Vice Commander Yan Di originated wasn't native to Azeroth. They were from a world named Earth, where there was no Magic and their entire civilization revolved around Spirit Energy and Elemental Bending.
It seemed that the people who could Bend Elements were utilizing Spiria, or the Spirit Energy / Spirit Power, in a very similar fashion to the inhabitants of the Elentear. Yet their usage of the Spiria was most intriguing, and they could use it on an almost instinctive level, something that she hadn't seen yet.
At the same time, the one that could Bend the elements, the Benders were very deeply connected to their respective elements to the point where it was easily influencing their personalities, character and traits.
She noticed that the Firebenders were pretty much more aggressive overall than ordinary people. They were also very hot-blooded and wanted to get into conflicts, and they also seemed to be pretty battle-hungry.
The Waterbenders were mostly calm and serene, like water that was flowing, or the Earthbenders were rigid and unbreakable in everything that they were doing, like a dense and powerful rock.
But as the name was telling, the highest number of the Benders were actually the Firebenders. Irene found out that they were currently at war against the Jungle Troll Tribal Coalition, and the blue-skinned creature that she had killed some time ago was named Troll.
Apparently, Trolls were rather widespread in the entire Eastern Kingdoms, which was the collective name for three connected continents that consisted of Lordaeron, Khaz-Modan, and Azeroth.
They were a barbaric race that widely practised cannibalism, worshipped Evil Gods, practiced some of the darkest and foulest Magics out there, and were generally menacing, but the one kind that couldn't be easily eradicated.
Right now, the Air Fleet of the Fire Nation was heading toward the Zul'Gurub, which was the capital of the Gurubashi Trolls, who were the strongest Troll Tribe in the entire Jungle Troll Alliance and they also had a Demigod among them.
The Evil God.
Hakkar the Soulflayer.
But Vice Commander Yan Di told Irene that it would be taken care of by Guardian, Demigod Mage on the side of Stormwind, who would make a move and deal with the Demigod Loa of the Gurubashi Trolls.
Irene herself was rather intrigued by these Loas, because they seemed to be like Gods to the Trolls, and they were even lending these disgusting creatures their power in exchange for servitude, worship, and sacrifices.
They were pretty dangerous and in fact, despite her power, she didn't really want to fight against something so powerful. Even though her draconic instincts were keen on fighting powerful foes, Irene wasn't suicidal, and she knew that fighting against such beings, even if weakened, was not the brightest decision.
She fought with the Avatar of the being that was stationed in the Temple of Atal'Hakkar, and even the Avatar of the Hakkar, the Soulflayer, was already at the Legendary Level, and she had a lot of trouble dealing with it, even with her Magic and power.
Irene wasn't protected by the Gods to the point where she was immune to the Soul Magics of the Evil God.
She needed to be very careful when dealing with the opponent.
"My Lady, we will soon reach the vicinity of the Eastern Northern Stranglethorn Vale Border. One smaller airship would take you to the Storm-Fire Group, as Fire Lord Aenarion sends his personal invitation to the dinner and discussion."
Suddenly, she was disturbed by her experiments on one of the troll corpses; more to be precise, she was experimenting on one of their Witch Doctors, which was rather a common Magic profession among the trolls en masse.
She wasn't surprised that the Fire Lord of the Fire Nation wanted to meet her, because well... she was very powerful and apparently she unknowingly killed a very important Troll to the point where that alone was giving her relatively high status within the Fire Nation.
Not to mention...
Fire Nation respected the strong and powerful.
"I will be there in a moment."
Irene new that most probably, like Zeref, even this Fire Lord would want to recruit her to the Fire Nation for her powers and also because the Fire Nation seemingly lacked in the Magic department too much...
That much she was able to get out of the Vice Commander of the Imperial Bending Legion.
