Chapter 659 - (Bonus Chapter) Chapter 659: Ashera Resurrection...

"Other worlds are even more special than I thought."

Rather than being shocked by what she found out about the chat group, Mahiru Hiiragi accepted it all very naturally—though most people would find it unbelievable.

"Wanna go check them out?"

Rei Ao asked.

"Absolutely, if Rei Ao-kun has the time~."

Mahiru was certainly curious about other worlds, but she was also well aware of her current position. From now on, everything in her future would revolve around Rei Ao—and she found that thought rather interesting.

"Ah, don't worry. I'll take you to have a look at those other worlds later. Now, go get some rest. I still need to wrap up these trades."

Fully dressed, Krul and Rei Ao now stood in an open field.

Krul's eyes lingered on him with a complicated expression. This man had taken everything from her by force, yet she felt no anger—only a strange…dependence. That realization confused her. But there was something more important at the moment.

"You look nervous,"

Rei Ao teased. "It's just resurrecting your brother—no need to be so tense, right?"

"Hmph! I just don't want him to see me all messed up. It'd be… humiliating! Hurry up already!"

"Oh?"

Rei Ao gave a slight grunt.

Krul's face changed, and she pulled back her head, speaking weakly, "P-please… can we start now, M-master?!"

"That's more like it. I am your master, after all. Show a little respect."

He patted her head, then raised his right hand.

With a firm grasp, a long blackish-green sword appeared out of thin air. The blade quivered, making a deep humming sound.

"This is…a Demon Army weapon?"

Krul asked skeptically, instinctively straightening her spine.

"M-Master, is this your weapon?"

"Meh. I'm not one to rely on trash like this."

He paused. "What's sealed inside is your brother."

Krul's eyes went wide the second she heard that.

"You're saying…my brother's a demon sealed inside this sword?!"

Crack!

Her knuckles tightened so hard they gave off an audible grind. She bared her fangs, her face twisted in rage.

"Who did this?!"

Rei Ao glanced over his shoulder.

"What if I told you it was my Mahiru?"

"…?"

Krul froze. Her anger doused like a bucket of cold water. Not because she was at peace, but because she didn't dare complain. Mahiru, after all, was Rei Ao's person.

"I…"

Krul lowered her head, unable to say anything more.

Rei Ao, satisfied by her reaction, gave a faint chuckle.

"But no, the one behind this is the now-dead First Progenitor, Shikama Dōji."

"The First Progenitor?!"

"Yeah. He's dead. I took care of him,"

Rei Ao replied, turning back around.

"Now make sure you get along with Mahiru, got it?"

"Yes, Master!"

That news clearly made Krul feel much better—she trusted that Rei Ao had no reason to lie.

"Alright, now about your brother, Ashera—or, well, 'Asuramaru.'"

He gave the sword a casual toss, and it spun through the air. Suddenly, dark mist billowed out from the blade, gathering into human form within a few seconds. Finally, a figure appeared in front of the two—a long-haired man who looked somewhat feminine, yet was unmistakably a "demon": Asuramaru.

Asuramaru opened his crimson eyes, reflecting Krul and Rei Ao in their depths. He cocked his head.

"Who are you?"

Krul, overjoyed to see him, abruptly froze. What's going on? He looked like her brother Ashera, yet he didn't seem to recognize her.

"Master, what is this…?"

Krul looked at Rei Ao for answers.

He raised a hand.

"His memories have been sealed, that's all. Getting used as a weapon—he wouldn't have them intact."

Snap!

He clicked his fingers. A surge of divine power jolted Asuramaru's mind.

Crack!

His memory seal shattered.

"Ugh!"

He clutched his head in pain. And then—

"Krul…"

Ashera mumbled, lifting his gaze. Fragments of memory flickered in his eyes.

"Krul! Is that really you?"

"Brother, yes—it's me!"

Krul answered excitedly, but she stayed put, not rushing forward.

Ashera quickly sensed Rei Ao's immense presence.

"Sir… who might you be?"

he asked cautiously.

"Rei Ao. I'm your sister's master…and her man."

Rei Ao suddenly pulled Krul close by the waist.

"!!!"

Krul's face instantly flared bright red.

"Y-you…you…"

She stammered, utterly failing to come up with a retort. Deep down, she felt an odd mix of embarrassment and a tiny spark of pleasure.

"…"

Ashera looked momentarily stunned, then frowned.

"Her…master?"

That word obviously set off all sorts of thoughts.

"Krul made a deal with me for your resurrection. She'll serve me for eternity,"

Rei Ao said flatly. "And that deal concludes right now."

Snap!

He snapped his fingers again, and a surge of powerful life energy flowed into Ashera's body. An instant later—

Clang!

The sword known as Asuramaru dropped to the ground. Ashera was now completely separated from the blade, standing as an independent being in his own flesh. In short, he was resurrected.

Krul suddenly sensed the change in Rei Ao's aura—something mesmerizing, something that made her want to surrender to him from the depths of her soul. She moved closer without even realizing it, her nose brushing his neck.

"You're that close to me because you want to drink my blood?" he asked.

"!!!"

Krul jumped at the sight of Rei Ao's blood-red eyes, blurting out in disbelief:

"Y-you're a vampire?!"

"Heh."

Rei Ao grinned, revealing a pair of sharp fangs.

"I'm the True Ancestor of Blood."
