Chapter 1 - Birth Of A Monster

In the darkness of the night the visage of the moon could barley be made out through all the clouds and heavy rain. With the clouds blocking the moonlight only the street lamps could be a source of light for a particular pair.

However the moons light did reach somewhere despite the clouds.

Near an abandoned sector.

It was a curch.

Its walls were cracked and chipped with vines and moss growing all around. The pews of the church were all broken and scattered through out the massive hall. Most of the stained glass windows were broken and welcomed the heavy rain from outside to come in.

The pale moonlight came through a circular stained glass window that stood atop the entrance of the church.

The moonlight like a beam of sunlight brightened up the altar and a statue behind it, leaving everything else dark.

Compared to the seemingly destroyed church the altar was perfectly fine and so was the statue.

The altar was completely white, its smooth surface showcasing the craftsmanship that went into creating it. It was big enough to fit a person on it. However the statue behind it was even greater.

like the altar the statue was completely white. Nearly touching the top of the churches ceiling It depicted a man with wavy hair that reached down to his chin. He wore only pants with his upper body completely exposed. His figure was lean and the rolling muscles on the stone seemed all too real. His head was turned down to side gazing softly upon a wolf, seemingly scratching its chin. On his shoulder was a falcon nestling against his head.

It seemed as though the figure depicted had a special connection with animals.

In the church the altar and statue stood silently completely undisturbed from anything except the pale moonlight-

"ARGHHHHH!!"

A scream pierced through the church from somewhere outside disrupting the silence and serenity of the church.

A pair could be seen running drenched by the rain. A man and a woman, the lady was curled into the man's embrace. Her face was filled with pain as she periodically screamed.

The pair seemed to be running from something and chanced upon the church. It's circular stained glass window with its intricate pattern were illuminated by the moonlight. The doors were slightly ajar almost as if it was inviting them in.

They rushed into the church and closed the door behind them.

The man carrying the woman set her down on the ground gently and both collapsed on the floor of the church in exhaustion.

"I-I think the baby is coming right now dear…" the woman whimpered out while clutching her bulging belly.

"Hah, what a troublesome child we've created, to decide to come into the word at a time like this. Heh. I suppose as punishment he can be born in this abandoned church" The man could only laugh and try to lighten the mood.

"Aghh…please for once act like a husband and take something seriously." However his attempt to lighten the mood was only greeted with a quick and stern reply from his wife.

The man looked around sheepishly and noticed the altar which could perfectly fit his wife.

"I'll lay you on that altar, " he said as he gazed at the floor which was full of scattered debris. "it's much safer for the baby than this terribly dirty floor "He quickly hoisted her up in a princess carry and brought her towards the altar illuminated by the moonlight.

Under the light of the moon the features of the couple could now be noticed.

The woman was of short stature and held a pained expression on her angular face with tears flowing from her brown eyes. She had straight black hair that reached her shoulders. The wet hair stuck to her alabaster skin like moss on a rock . She wore a simple purple gown which was drenched. Her belly was her most noticeable feature. It protruded out clearly showing there was a soon to be beautiful baby inside.

The man was a head taller than her. His wavy short brown hair was drenched and stuck to his face like his wife's. His sharp brown eyes gazed at his wife with confidence but one would be able to see a tinge of fear in his eyes.

Outside the church a large cloaked figure could be seen sitting on a tree branch.

The cloaked figure was looking at the couple with their hands at the side of their legs.

The sound of rain and muffled screams of a woman could be heard.

It was then that a raspy and deep voice could be heard .

"Damn lady, just push the kid out already." The cloaked figure said, their voice laced with impatience.

Suddenly another person's voice emerged from the bottom of the tree.

"Be patient we can leave once we get the baby"

The voice came from another cloaked figure who was thin and leaned against the tree with their arms crossed.

" Be patient?! I have been patient!"

"We've been chasing these two for god knows how long!"

"I understand, this has been quite frustrating for me too but it is he-"

WAHHHH !!!!

The second cloaked figure tried to reply to their partner however the sound of a baby's cry interrupted them.

The two turned to look at each other and immediately rushed into the church.

WAHHHHHHH!!!!!!

"Huff…hahhh…..H-how is our baby?" Hearing the cries of the baby the newly made mother couldn't help but ask her husband weakly.

However she wasn't met with some joke like she had expected.

She turned her head to see her husband, but he was frozen like a statue. He was staring at their newly born child with a horrrified expression.

What he had expected to see was a wet and red little infant with little swirls of hair on its head. A little sweet mix of him and his beloved wife.

….

However, what he saw was a "monster" hiding in the skin of a baby boy.

His baby boy.

The "monsters" skin was perfectly white with cracks along it. And underneath those cracks was a black substance that swirled around seemingly endlessly deep.

WAHHHH!!

Every time it let out a cry the black substance underneath its skin squirmed and tried leaving through the cracks.

On the upper right side of the "monsters" face where there should have been an eye. There was a large hole in its infant shell. And from that hole surged forth the black substance turning into wisps and a spiraling reddish black horn.

Shocked at the sight of the "monster" that had taken his child. He dropped it and a blurry figure flashed past him and took the "monster"!

WAHHHHH!!

The father turned his head and heard a laugh from the thin cloaked figure that had been chasing him and his wife.

"Heh. Based on your reaction I believe you won't mind if I take this child."

The cloaked figure held the "monster" gently with both hands and soothed it

Another cloaked figure appeared behind them and placed their hands in the air.

Then a slit the size of a door opened up in the space behind their hand.

Then the two stepped through the slit along with the "monster" and disappeared!

The church was then left with only the two lovers who stayed in place and the waining moonlight.
