Chapter 12 - first fight

It was night, and the moon hung over the sky as a lone Jackrixis walked the desert, hoping to find a meal to fill her stomach.

This young woman was 15 and had a good amount of experience behind her. She's fought multiple creatures and made sure to test herself as much as possible.

It helped she was quite intimidating with long black hair that was matted and tangled since she travelled the desert and battled with her foes.

She was 6,5ft a good height for Rixis not too tall and not too small, her skin tone was brown like smooth timber which helped slightly blend in with the scattered rocks.

This matched well with her brown eyes, which looked ferocious up close like a mix of a human and a lizard. It seemed both her claws and her teeth seemed extra sharp, being used constantly for the thing she was built for and was best at, hunting.

While she wandered the desert for something to eat, another creature was hunting as well, and it picked up the young rixis's scent and quickly went to investigate.

The wolf ran until it felt the strength of the scent increase and slowed down, and started to stalk slowly while trying to find its prey.

While the female rixis hunted for prey while not even knowing that she had become the prey herself. She would soon understand what that felt like for the first time.

Slowly, the sand-fanged wolf finally came upon the female Rixis while making sure to not be noticed by its prey while it was so far away.

Minute by minute, they came closer together until they were only 20 meters apart. Luckily for the Jackrixis and unlucky for the wolf, she had gained a type of sense.

Hunting for the past 10 years helped her gain an understanding of the situation she was in, and the shifting of the sands didn't seem to be in her favour.

She quickly turned around just in time as the wolf ran towards her she just barely jumped out of the way but still got nicked by one of its claws, causing a slight draw of red blood.

She quickly turned as the wolf swerved and tried to crush her arm with its jaws but missed as she rolled back, creating a speck of small dust among the scuffle.

She quickly got up and put her arms in front of her, making sure to show the claws she sported and open her mouth to bare her teeth.

The wolf did the same as saliva dripped down from its lips and wetted the sand beneath its claws as the wolf locked onto the female's eyes.

There was a moment of silence before they both roared in pure adrenaline and might as they ran toward each other.

The first clash was with the wolf clawing the chest of the female Rixis as she clawed the side of the wolf's body as they both backed off.

This kept happening with them both taking a large amount of damage the female bled all over her body. She even had some broken claws while the wolf had large chunks taken out of its back and side with some broken teeth in the mix as well, and they both looked like hell.

For whatever reason, be it emotional or instinctual, the Rixis felt both pride and respect for its prey, which it never felt before. The two opponents then ran toward each other once again, but this time, our huntress wouldn't keep repeating the same type of attack as she knew if she did, she wouldn't win.

So as they ran once more, the Jackrixis jumped on top of the wolf and quickly scratched and clawed its back. Quickly being thrown off and rolled into the sand.

The wolf bolted and latched onto her arm and drew a large amount of blood as her arm was left limp on her side, unable to move.

She quickly punched the wolf in the head multiple times, disorientating it and giving her the time to back off. She tried raising one of her arms but realized it wouldn't move and looked at it and saw how bad of a condition it was in.

That didn't change anything, though, as she hoped her plan worked and the wolf would do what she wanted. While the silence of the desert overtook them both with the slight dripping of blood and breaths of air lost in the wind.

They both once again looked at each other before mustering up the strength to charge at each other once more. The wolf quickly ran and pounced at the Rixis, hoping to do to her as she did to it and take her by surprise, but it didn't land on her.

Some confusion was in its eyes as its stomach felt warm, and immense pain came, and the wolf slumped to its side, breathing its last breath. She looked at her prey and smiled as her plan worked, hoping the wolf would copy her so she could slide under it and get to the soft, warm, underbelly.

She slowly limped towards the dying wolf and watched its breathing slow, and the light went out of its eyes.

The winner stood there and, for whatever reason, didn't immediately start eating the prey. She looked over it and sat on her knees. Her hands that were shaking and bloodied slowly closed the wolf's eyes and then proceeded to eat her kill slower than usual.

But it wasn't the type of respect she showed the prey that was shocking for both Jack and the viewers, but it was the fact that she took some of the teeth and put them in her hair, creating a much more fierce look as she seemed to like her new trophy.

She stood near the corpse for a little while longer before walking the desert once more with a slight limp as the sun slowly came up once more.

"Holy crap that was badass!"-Jack
