Chapter 43 - Wrath of a woman

If you couldn't tell already, the rixis race didn't have different benefits for males and females like humans do. Which meant that they were both on a biological and societal level the same. Male rixis didn't look down on female rixis, and it went the same way.

They didn't care if their elder or ruler was male or female as long as they were strong and reliable hunters, who had proven to be worthy of the role.

Such was evident as currently, a female rixis was stalking her prey throughout the jungle as she made sure to stay out of its sight. Prey, she had been stalking and watching now for over a month, and she had finally figured out all she could about it.

She knew what it liked to eat and when it slept and also learned many more things from its actions throughout her time watching. Now, this female wasn't extremely tall or muscular but an average Jackrixis of 6ft and was all green, which is quite rare and useful in the jungle.

She had that look of a black widow who tempts her prey with her beauty only for them to lose their head once they get too close. She had also learned a unique skill while being in the jungle, which was that she used the vines that grew all across the land to navigate and fight.

She would use them as markers in travelling or like whips when fighting prey and liked to use them against animals that shoot things or creatures that hunt in packs. Right now, she had two large and thick vines wrapped around her arms, going up to her elbows with the vines being two meters long each.

She was currently sitting upon the branch of a large tree waiting for something while making sure to keep an eye on her prey.

After some time, a pack of strange-looking animals came toward her prey, and they were a mix of a badger and a wolf a strange sight indeed. The 3 creatures were all 2 meters long and 3ft tall, staying low to the ground and had saliva dripping from their mouths that showed their crooked teeth.

Their creatures noticed the prey and started to surround it, and it seemed the prey was ready to fight, which was until the female stepped in.

She jumped from the tree while using her vines to slow down the descent and roared as she attacked the back of one of the creatures she fell onto.

She received some small cuts on her arms from the creature, trying to throw her off its back, constantly bucking like a bull. It shook and roared in anger while blood and bone were ripped open on the creature's back as the roars quickly died once she found its spine.

It took both of her hands, but she managed to tear it out and held the long spine in her hand as it soaked them with blood and other liquids.

This enraged the other two creatures who charged at the new threat that had killed a member of their pack.

One tried to bite onto the rixis arm but had its face whipped by a vine, causing a gash to open on its face and bleed incessantly. The other creature while it's friend was down managed to latch onto the female's thigh and slammed its jaws down onto the flesh of the rixis.

The female screamed in both pain and rage as she wrapped both vines around the animal's neck and lifted its body above her, causing it to let go of her thigh. She then smashed its body onto the ground using the vines as the body of the dead creature lay broken on the ground.

The last survivor was losing a lot of blood and couldn't see that well, so its last moments were in darkness as the female stomped on its head. She roared with her first raising to the air in glorious victory and gave a large grin as the small cuts and bite on her thigh bled.

In her celebrations, she seemed to have forgotten what she came here for and quickly looked around for what she was stalking.

She quickly found the prey staring at her between two bushes and it must have watched her great battle, and she walked towards it with a simple stride.

Now, you must be wondering what this prey was. Well, it was quite simple it wasn't your average creature, that's for sure.

It was a Jackrixis, more specifically, a male who was about 5,7ft and had green hair and eyes with white colored skin. This is who the female had been stalking and trying to figure out. Not so she could kill him, but so she could try to make him her mate.

She had found him wandering through the jungle and liked how he studied things and took his time throughout the jungle, unlike others. Most would try running through it and would face unnecessary danger instead of taking things slowly and calmly, which she respected in the male.

You see, rixis weren't the type of people to only want strength they also understood the importance of other aspects they find positive like intelligence and patience.

She wasn't looking for a strong mate as most rixis could handle themselves, and she could do that, more what she wanted was someone smart. A rarity in the rixis at the current moment, being both strong and smart, so she thought the other rixis was too.

Well, let's just say that the rixis had moved on from the days of the deceased brute, but some of them liked smacking things, but that bored her. This male, however, had managed to survive the jungle even though he seemed to come from another biome and also used the nature around him to survive better.

The two were now staring at each other in silence, almost as if they were ready to attack until the male quickly showed his thanks to her. She blushed and grew more reserved around the male but gave him one of the creatures as an offering, which he accepted.

The male rixis also seemed interested in her vines and how she used them in the fight, and the two got to mingling. Not long later, the two were mates and were slinging through the jungle using vines, and their 4 children were following them.
