Chapter 668 - Chapter 666: Choices and Assignments

Seimei circled above the island a few times before finding a relatively flat spot to land.

However, he didn't immediately start training. Instead, he pulled out the Sealed Object Scroll once more.

Raising his hand, Seimei formed a seal and broke the scroll's enchantment.

Suddenly, a vast array of books and scrolls appeared out of thin air, taking up a large area.

Looking at the collection, Seimei muttered, "This really is going to be a massive project."

As he spoke, he picked up one of the scrolls and began to flip through it.

The scroll recorded an ordinary ninjutsu—nothing extraordinary.

After skimming through it for a few moments, Seimei set it aside and moved on to the second scroll.

This one piqued his interest. It contained research notes on the Nara clan's shadow techniques.

Unfortunately, the notes alone weren't sufficient for Seimei to learn the shadow techniques.

Even if he could learn them, he wouldn't bother.

The Nara clan's shadow techniques, after all, were just one application of Yin Release. And when it came to utilizing the power of Yin Release, what could compare to Susano'o?

Seimei wasn't one to sacrifice the fundamental for the trivial.

After browsing for a while, he put the scroll down and picked up the third.

The books and scrolls contained a wide variety of content. Some Seimei only glanced at briefly, while others he studied more seriously.

After nearly three hours of sorting through the Root Organization's collection, Seimei finally narrowed his selection to four scrolls and one book to study.

The four scrolls contained two genjutsu techniques and two ninjutsu techniques:

- A-rank genjutsu: The Bringer-Of-Darkness

- A-rank genjutsu: Temple of Nirvana Technique

- B-rank ninjutsu: Earth Release: Great Mud River

- C-rank ninjutsu: Earth Release: Double Suicide Decapitation Technique

He had already witnessed the power of the The Bringer-Of-Darkness, which was highly effective against the Uchiha clan's Sharingan.

Given that his actions might clash with the ideologies of the now-mature Uchiha Shisui and the yet-to-mature Uchiha Itachi, making some preparations in advance seemed prudent.

As the saying goes, it's better to be safe than sorry.

As for the Temple of Nirvana Technique, Seimei specifically chose it to address his weaknesses.

While its effects were mediocre—those with some genjutsu knowledge and vigilance could generally resist it—it had one significant advantage: its wide area of effect.

This made it the kind of large-scale attack genjutsu that Seimei had always lacked.

With the support of his Mangekyō Sharingan, combined with his extraordinary mental energy and chakra reserves, mastering the technique to perfection could yield decent results.

Seimei estimated that lower-ranked ninja like Genin likely wouldn't be able to escape it easily.

As for Chūnin, it would depend on their abilities.

However, against Jōnin, the technique would probably be ineffective.

Still, that was sufficient.

After all, Seimei didn't plan to use this technique against Jōnin-level opponents. For them, his Sharingan-based genjutsu was far more effective.

Setting the two genjutsu scrolls aside, Seimei turned his attention to the other two scrolls, which recorded the B-rank Earth Release: Great Mud River and the C-rank Earth Release: Double Suicide Decapitation Technique.

The first technique, as an exceptional B-rank ninjutsu, could directly alter the terrain when enough chakra was applied.

This would give Seimei a third option for modifying the battlefield, alongside Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave and Water Release: Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave.

After all, not every environment was suitable for water release techniques. In the sandy deserts of the Land of Wind, for instance, water release would lose at least half its effectiveness.

In such cases, Earth Release: Great Mud River was an excellent alternative.

Additionally, this technique had an advanced form: the A-rank Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld, which could create a muddy swamp capable of trapping even summoning beasts like Manda. Its power was undeniable.

Unfortunately, Seimei hadn't obtained this advanced technique from Danzo. For now, he could only settle for learning the prerequisite technique.

As for the Earth Release: Double Suicide Decapitation Technique, Seimei's sole purpose for learning it was to add another method of avoiding harm and escaping danger.

Though he had the Heavenly Hand Power, relying on it every time he encountered danger wasn't ideal.

Even if his Mangekyō Sharingan eventually evolved into the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, removing the risk of blindness, it still wouldn't be practical to overuse it.

After all, his ocular power was limited.

Having an additional means of escape or evasion was crucial.

If possible, Seimei planned to continue learning related ninjutsu techniques to further ensure his safety.

After setting these two scrolls aside, Seimei picked up the last book.

Opening it, he found that it didn't contain any ninjutsu, genjutsu, or taijutsu techniques. Instead, it was a collection of research notes on the Akimichi clan's Calorie Control secret techniques.

As everyone knows, the Akimichi clan's secret Multi-Size Technique is based on the use of Yang Release chakra.

Coincidentally, his method of strengthening the body also relies on Yang Release chakra, achieved through the medium of the "Palm Sage Technique."

Seimei selected this book to see if he could draw any parallels or gain insights.

He wasn't expecting to develop a new body-strengthening secret technique outright, but if he could improve the efficiency of the "Palm Sage Technique" in enhancing his body, he would be more than satisfied.

With that in mind, Seimei set aside the four scrolls and the book, then used the "Sealing Technique Array" to seal the remaining scrolls and books into a single scroll.

Next, he began to contemplate his chakra allocation.

Earlier this morning, just before his battle with Danzo, his "Chakra Cloak" had reached a perfect state, saving him 182,000 chakra points each day.

This surplus chakra was now his starting capital.

Considering that practicing A-rank ninjutsu is extremely demanding, Seimei decided to divide his chakra into five portions.

Two A-rank genjutsu techniques—"Bringer-of-Darkness Technique" and "Temple of Nirvana Technique"—each received 50,000 chakra points.

For B-rank ninjutsu, "Earth Style: Earth Flow River," and C-rank ninjutsu, "Earth Style: Headhunter Jutsu," he allocated 40,000 chakra points each.

As for the remaining 2,000 chakra points, Seimei planned to use them to study the Akimichi clan's Multi-Size Technique.

Of course, 2,000 chakra points alone might seem insufficient.

However, let's not forget that Seimei was still investing 36,000 chakra points daily into the "Palm Sage Technique."

With this arrangement, it was more than enough—at the very least, it wouldn't disrupt his regular training schedule.

Once the allocation was complete, Seimei wasted no time. He raised his hands, formed seals, and cast the "Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu."

Poof!

With a burst of chakra-infused smoke, eight shadow clones appeared in the room.

Seimei assigned each of them their respective training tasks, and they quickly went their separate ways.

As for Seimei himself, he also entered his training state.

Meanwhile, Seimei seemed completely unfazed as he focused on his training, unaware that the village was on the verge of chaos due to Danzo's death.

After all, the death of a village elder was enough to cause such an uproar.

And with Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu—two of the village's advisors—fanning the flames, the situation escalated further.

Granted, these two didn't approve of all of Danzo's actions, but they had been friends for decades.

Now that their old friend had died under mysterious circumstances, it was only natural for them to inquire about it.

At the same time, they were also pressuring Hiruzen Sarutobi to conduct a full-scale investigation to find the culprit.
