Chapter 748 - Chapter 746: Speculations and Thoughts

Space-time ninjutsu—it's rare, but at the same time, it's not all that uncommon.

Things like ninja tool scrolls, summoning techniques, and sealing arrays—all of these have something to do with space and can technically be classified under space-time jutsu.

However, sneaking into the Hidden Leaf Village undetected, bypassing its sensory barrier, isn't something just any space-time jutsu can accomplish.

Given the current timeline, Seimei was almost ninety percent sure that the person lurking in the shadows was none other than Uchiha Obito.

That's right—Obito.

In another timeline, during this exact period, he frequently infiltrated the Hidden Leaf Village, secretly observing the disheartened Kakashi.

With how often he moved around, it was only natural for the village to pick up on some clues.

As for why the Hidden Leaf didn't manage to track him down in that timeline?

Seimei could only say that Obito's Kamui was simply too overpowered.

Lost in thought, Seimei was snapped back to reality when Uchiha Shisui asked urgently, "What's wrong, Seimei? Did you notice something?"

Pulled from his thoughts, Seimei quickly shook his head. "No, I just thought of something else."

He had no intention of revealing any information about Obito.

It wasn't because he was afraid of altering the so-called "plot."

After all, the moment he killed Danzo ahead of time, the original "storyline" had already lost much of its relevance.

The reason he chose not to share this intel was simple: he couldn't explain how he knew it, and, more importantly, he had his own plans for Obito.

After all, Obito had been implanted with a significant amount of Hashirama's cells.

If Seimei could get his hands on some of those cells and implant them into his own body…

Then, by leveraging his Human Dominion ability—just like how he assimilated the Byakugan—he could integrate Hashirama's cells into himself.

Even if he didn't immediately gain Wood Release, his physical capabilities would improve drastically.

This was the legendary Sage Body—a power with unparalleled potential in the ninja world.

Who knows? He might even unlock the secrets of Sage Mode.

If he could safely absorb natural energy, he could use it to strengthen his body and optimize his genes.

At that point, he wouldn't have to worry about improving his physique anymore.

As for concerns about mixing bloodlines and potentially diluting his Uchiha heritage?

Frankly, Seimei didn't care.

Even though he inhabited this body, he wasn't a native-born Uchiha.

From the very beginning, his goal had always been singular: to keep surpassing his limits and ultimately transcend this world!

As long as something brought him closer to that goal, it didn't matter whether it was a "black cat" or a "white cat"—results were all that counted.

Various thoughts flashed through his mind before he quickly refocused. Looking at Shisui, he casually asked, "Where does this mysterious figure usually appear?"

Shisui, not suspecting anything, assumed Seimei was simply trying to help and immediately replied, "Most commonly near the graveyard, though he's also been spotted around our clan's district."

Hearing the mention of the graveyard, Seimei became even more certain of his guess.

As for the Uchiha district?

Obito's reasoning was likely similar to his own—it was the least monitored area in the village, reducing the risk of detection.

Even with Kamui's near-invincibility, Obito wouldn't be reckless. It made sense for him to change locations occasionally.

Besides, this was his childhood home. Even though his mind was filled with vengeance against the Hidden Leaf and Minato Namikaze, reminiscing about the past was only natural.

As Seimei pieced together Obito's thought process, Shisui suddenly spoke again.

"Oh, right, Seimei. We just got a report from the village's barrier team. They detected a spatial fluctuation in this area—probably that person appearing again. We were sent to investigate. Did you notice anything?"

"Uh…"

Seimei was momentarily speechless.

The previous disturbances weren't his doing, but this time? Yeah… that was probably on him.

After all, he had just used the Flying Thunder God technique to return, and the barrier team detected spatial activity right after? What were the odds?

Still, no way was he admitting it.

Shaking his head, he replied, "I don't know. I had already gone to bed and didn't notice anything unusual."

"I see…"

Shisui sounded a little disappointed but didn't doubt him.

They had been tracking this mysterious figure for days without success.

It was clear that the enemy's space-time jutsu was extremely advanced, and their ability to remain hidden was exceptional.

In that case, it made sense that Seimei wouldn't have spotted anything either.

After chatting a bit more, Shisui took his leave—he still had other tasks to handle and couldn't stay long.

Seimei assured him that he would keep an eye out and report anything suspicious immediately.

### Outside the Door

Seimei watched as Shisui's figure disappeared into the distance. He stood there for a while before finally heading back inside.

Thud.

He shut the door behind him.

Back in his room, he sat on the edge of his bed—not rushing to sleep, but instead contemplating how to get what he wanted from Obito.

Obito's intangible ability made him almost untouchable.

If Obito became even slightly wary, getting close to him would be nearly impossible.

Which meant Seimei had to strike before Obito realized he was a threat.

And considering the presence of Black Zetsu lurking behind Obito, Seimei had to be extra careful not to expose too much of his own abilities.

This made his mission even more difficult.

He pondered his strategy for a long time. Eventually, exhaustion got the better of him, and he laid down to rest.

This time, though, he didn't remove his clothes or put away his weapons.

Sure, he was confident that the detected spatial fluctuation was his doing…

But what if it wasn't?

If Obito was truly lurking nearby, he needed to be prepared.

Better safe than sorry.

Fortunately, the worst-case scenario didn't happen.

Although his sleep was restless, he still managed to get through the night.

By morning, he felt like much of his fatigue from intense training had finally subsided.

If he spent the day properly relaxing, he'd be back in peak condition soon enough.

Then, he could dive back into training with his full focus.
