Chapter 32 - Xing Xing's Mother

Xing Xing shook her head at Grandpa Chen. "Back then, my parents were poor, and our condition got worse after my father died in a work accident. Since then, my mother has worked hard to pay for my education, so I would rather not disappoint her, and such a thing would disturb my school. Moreover, Tang Xiao liked another girl at that time, and she was one of the prettiest girls in our school, so I didn't have the confidence to get closer to him."

"Hmm?" Grandpa Chen rubbed his forehead in thought. "I remember you telling me about that girl a long time ago, and her name was Jessica, right?"

"Yes." Xing Xing nodded to him. "Even though they were never lovers, their relationship was so good and close, and they mostly spent their time together discussing lessons. However, I never imagined that Jessica would betray her relationship with Tang Xiao, and she was one of the women who framed him seven years ago."

Grandpa Chen released a heavy sigh after hearing that; he remembered that Xing Xing was deeply saddened by the news of Tang Xiao's accident because she cared for him so much. "What are your plans for the future? Are you going to continue like this?"

"What do you mean by your question, Grandpa Chen?"

Grandpa Chen put down his tools and stood up, and he then grabbed Xing Xing's shoulders. "I've known you since you were little, and I always considered you to be my own granddaughter, so I want to see you happy. Honestly, I hope that Tang Xiao is still alive now, so you can meet him again and pursue your happiness by being with him. Unfortunately, the chance seems small, so I think you should learn to forget him, and you can move on with your life. After all, you are a grown woman now, so it's time for you to think about your future, and you can try to open your heart to accept other men."

"I know you said it was for my own good, but I don't want to think about men for now." Xing Xing decisively turned down his idea. "My mother has been seriously ill for the past two years, and I have to take care of her, so I don't have time to think about romantic matters."

"What did the doctor say after he checked Lingxi's condition yesterday?"

Xing Xing became even more sad because of that. "The doctor said that my mother's condition was getting worse, and she needed more intensive treatment. However, it was very expensive, and my savings wouldn't be enough for that, so I thought about finding a better job to pay for her medical expenses."

"In that case, you can wait here; I will take out my savings, and you can use it to pay for Lingxi's medical expenses.

"No!" Xing Xing exclaimed while grabbing his hand, and she shook her head firmly. "You've helped us too much over the past few years, and I don't want to continue burdening you, so you don't have to do it anymore. Moreover, you're already this old, and your children gave the money to you, so it would be better if you closed this repair shop and enjoyed your old age."

"Hahaha." Instead, Grandpa Chen laughed at that before patting her head. "You are indeed a good girl, and I want you to be my granddaughter, but it's a pity that I don't have a grandson. As for this repair shop, I opened it to spend my free time. I'll never close it, or I'll die of boredom."

"You're really stubborn!" Suddenly, Xing Xing's cell phone rang. She hurriedly picked it up and spoke with the caller for some time. "Grandpa Chen, my friend just came back from another city, and she asked me to meet. I have to go home now to get ready, and I'll go see her after."

"All right, go home now, and you must tell me if you need my help with Lingxi's treatment."

"No! I already said I wouldn't burden you anymore, and I would look for another job to pay for my mother's treatment." Xing Xing hurriedly packed her personal belongings before running out. "Grandpa Chen! I'll help you again tomorrow!"

Grandpa Chen could only sigh while watching Xing Xing leave. "She said that I was stubborn, but she herself was much more stubborn than me."

After Xing Xing left the repair shop, Tang Xiao decided to follow her, especially after he eavesdropped on their conversation. However, he never expected that she liked him so much, and she even knew so much about him.

After some time, they arrived at a remote place outside the city, and Tang Xiao saw Xing Xing entering a slum area. The place was rundown and filled with delinquents, some of whom were heavily drunk, and some of whom were on drugs.

It was just a small matter for Tang Xiao, and he used his true eyes to find the location of Xing Xing's house. He found out that her house was too small with only one bedroom, and she had to share a room with her mother; even some parts of the house looked damaged.

Tang Xiao used his dragon void steps to reach the top of Xing Xing's house, where he gulped hard upon seeing her naked and immediately deactivated his true eyes. "Sigh! Her living conditions were truly miserable, and her mother was seriously ill."

[Are you interested in her, Master? Do you want to do something for her?] Xiao Ai asked him in a teasing tone.

"Haha." Tang Xiao laughed when he heard that, as Xiao Ai's main chip was integrated with his brain, so she could know his thoughts. "Xing Xing is quite pretty, and she also has cultivator veins, right? However, my relationship with her in the past wasn't that close, but she was indeed a kind-hearted woman, and people liked her very much. Since she always believes that I am innocent, I will do something for her, starting with healing her mother."

[Chu Lingxi's illness wasn't that serious, and she got sick like that due to too much stress and exhaustion when she was young, as she had to fight hard to raise her daughter. If her condition continues to decline like this, she will eventually die; therefore, you must bring her here, and I will restore her health.]

"I will bring Aunt Lingxi to you after Xing Xing leaves." Tang Xiao thought about doing something else for her, but he dropped the idea because it was too unusual, and she would definitely be in deep shock.

[Master, I think you can do something else for Xing Xing without shocking her.]

"What's your idea?"

[Hehe, the mistress will soon establish her company, so I will provide Xing Xing's information to her, and she can invite Xing Xing to work there. That way, you can see her often, and you can get close to her.]

"Your idea is indeed excellent! Tell my big sister about this and ask her to take care of it."

[All right, I will inform the mistress directly.]

Sometime later, Xing Xing was dressed neatly, but she looked a little tomboyish in a white t-shirt combined with mini jeans and a black beanie covering her head. "Mom, I'm going to see my friend first, and I want to ask her about job vacancies, but I'll be back soon to accompany you."

After Xing Xing left, Tang Xiao immediately sneaked into the house. Although Chu Lingxi looked sickly and haggard, none of that dimmed her natural beauty. She has long and straight black hair, an egg-shaped mature face, and exotic tan skin. She had long eyebrows, a sharp nose, and lips with a gentle curve.

Tang Xiao then let out a soft sigh seeing her condition, and he lifted Chu Lingxi before carrying her into the ark.

Upon their arrival at the lab, Tang Xiao placed Chu Lingxi in one of the capsules, and Xiao Ai began to treat her. Apart from recovering her condition, she also strengthened her body, and she would not be susceptible to any diseases.

At first, Xiao Ai wanted to help her absorb qi so Chu Lingxi would become a beginner cultivator, and it would be quite beneficial for her.

However, Tang Xiao rejected Xiao Ai's idea, especially since the life of a cultivator was not easy, and he did not know whether Chu Lingxi would be able to face such a life.

Half an hour later, Xiao Ai had finished everything, so Tang Xiao immediately sent Chu Lingxi back and put her to bed again. "Aunt Lingxi, you are a great mother, and you have raised an excellent daughter. From now on, Xing Xing no longer needs to worry about you, and you two will have a better life in the future."

After that, Tang Xiao immediately left the house, and he went back to the shopping center to look for a gift for Tang Yin.

In a study, a short and fat middle-aged man was in a panic after he couldn't contact his son, and he tried to contact several of his son's friends. However, none of them knew his son's whereabouts, so he ordered his subordinates to look for him. "What exactly happened to Shao'er? Where did he actually go? Even his two bodyguards couldn't be contacted."

The man was none other than Yao Wei, the head of the Yao family. He left the study to look for his wife, and he found her in the backyard, tidying up her small plants. "Do you know where my son went, Meng Xin?"
