Chapter 20 - Foolishness [3]

Inside the dark slums of the Bryndar, chaos arose as Angel walk through the streets, taking down the people that dared block his path along with devouring their weeping souls.

"Lord Umbra, our forces in the slums are dying one by one! That noble is of atleast at the level of a grand knight my lord!", his servant explained.

"Keuk!", the man knelt down due to spiritual pressure.

"Are you telling me to retreat because of a brat noble?", he turned around his head slightly from facing the window.

"I-I do not dare lord Um-", his head falls on the ground.

"Come inside and take this dirt away from my sight.", he said with a stern voice.

Umbra continued to watch from his mansion, witnessing the burning illegal slave auction houses and illegal item storages from his window.

Angel, standing in the middle of the street, gazed back menacingly at Umbra before smirking at him as he return back to his room to rest.

As morning came, the people watched the newly burnt buildings in the slum, revealing the syndicate's hidden criminal activities.

"Make your next move, I will destroy it when my turn arrives.", Angel said as he reads the newspaper inside his room.

"You're really getting into your roleplay.", Jean laughs.

"You really made a mess yesterday, what if someone saw you last night?", Jean asks.

"I'll think about it when it comes.", Angel slouches back.

Angel stood up and walked downstairs, listening to the conversations in the dining area. As they watched him descend from the stairs, their bodies tensed from his presence. The people of the slums who witnessed the destruction last night, described the perpetrator as heavenly yet chaotic. His face did not match his actions, his white hair stained with the blood of his victims, and his smile contained with thirst for death.

"Seriously, he's the one who wrecked havoc last night?", a man whispered.

"Only a noble are capable of such feats, after all, they are the powerhouses of the kingdoms.", a man whispered.

Angel continued to listen, as he sips from his cup of tea. After his morning breakfast, he left the inn and ventured outside, to find monsters to devour. He went inside the forest north of the city.

After a long search, he was met with a village of red ogres. Angel remembered his memory of fighting the red goblin, a said to be failure from the cult's experiments. As Angel continued to observe, he sensed a few life forms resembling humans heading for the village. Their numbers were about 27, composing of mages, mercenaries and porters.

"Those dumbasses! They'll die if they fought them!", Angel rushes.

As Angel got near the ogre's village, he felt the murky energy that resembled of a demon's, yet a bit weaker.

"It really is those cult bastards doing.", Angel implied.

Soon after, an ogre broke through the wall and charged at Angel after sensing his presence. Angel blocked his attack with his body, but was soon being overwhelmed by it's strength.

"Over there, I see him!", a mercenary shouted.

"Kill him!", a mercenary shouted.

The group that was headed for the village, charged at Angel with their swords, the mages chanted their magic, while porters kept themselves at the back.

"Seriously... Fuck off!", Angel shouted.
