Elora slept throughout the entire day, her study desk stacked with piles of unchecked documents.
Thorn glanced at the empty table and wondered where she had been last night.
The work was tedious, but having his wife nearby made it bearable—at least he had something beautiful to look at.
Twirling the ink brush around his fingers, he paused, recalling something, then reached for his earring, rubbing it lightly as he activated the spell cast upon it.
"Your Highness, you're finally communicating with us." The voice on the other end was filled with relief.
"I need you to investigate someone for me. Bella from the house of Rose. Report everything that happened while I was away with the queen," Thorn ordered, leaning back in his chair as he waited for the other person's response.
