Eloise was startled awake by the scream. She sat up in bed with a groan, a flicker of annoyance flashing through her eyes.
"What is it this time? It's too early for this!" Eloise grumbled, a yawn escaping her lips as she got down from the bed.
She was about to head to the bathroom when a hurried knock sounded at the door.
"Ente—!"
The door was pushed open before she could finish. Her gaze fell on the panting butler, and her brows furrowed as a bad feeling sprouted in her heart.
"What's so important that you barged into my room?" Eloise asked, clearly displeased.
"M-My lord… Young Master Dean is… dead." The butler's voice shook slightly as she delivered the bad news.
Eloise couldn't react immediately. She stood frozen, unable to process the news, before her eyes widened in disbelief.
"Impossible! He was clearly alright when I left his room yesterday! Who killed him?" Eloise finished in a chilling whisper.
The butler shook her head with a sigh before responding.
