Chapter 568 - Chapter 566: Sky Carrier

In a deep trench 2,000 meters beneath the Tyrrhenian Sea, southwest of Civitavecchia, a massive platform coated in black anti-corrosion paint slowly rose from the depths. The oceanic volcanic fault, long compressed between the Eurasian and African plates, ruptured. As the cooled black crust cracked apart, seawater instantly vaporized upon contact with the brilliant orange magma, erupting into a violent storm of bubbles. Under immense pressure, they compacted into dense plumes of white mist, expanding, merging, and separating again before cooling and vanishing into the frigid abyss.

The force displaced vast quantities of seawater, creating lethal undercurrents across the surface.

This area, situated between the maritime routes linking the Apennine Peninsula and Sardinia, had once been the site of a water park project in the previous century. However, the combination of economic downturn, poor location, environmental protests, technological shortfalls, and investor bankruptcy doomed the site. The abandoned park presented a perfect opportunity for the Immortal City. Stephanie purchased the site at an absurdly low price and—backed by Wakandan engineering—transformed it into another base just outside Rome. In Italian government records, it was still listed as a future water park, allegedly due to open in a hundred years. No one really bought that, but with enough money and influence, Stephanie made sure no one cared. The Italian government was eager to reduce its looming debt crisis, and everyone was happy to sell off a derelict property no one wanted to touch.

The circular platform surfaced with a thunderous mechanical groan. Its toothed hinges slowly unfurled as a heavily modified sky carrier lifted under its own power, breaking free from gravity's pull. Unlike the older Hydra carriers, this one had Wakandan-installed thrusters at its rear and sealed decks armored in alloy plating. The previously underslung mega-cannon had been split and mounted to both flanks, leaving only a trapezoidal aircraft hatch on the top deck. Once used for fighter storage, the side decks were now bristling with macro-cannons, turning the carrier into a true aerial battleship. These harbingers of death and destruction now waited silently beneath armored hatches, ready to be unleashed.

As the engines pushed against the sea, the vessel slowly rose above the clouds. The rear thruster assembly ignited, blasting out long cones of blue plasma as the massive war beast—shimmering with an activated electromagnetic barrier—cut through the skies at astonishing speed.

The appearance of this sky carrier did not trigger alarms from either the Italian military or the U.S. Navy's Sixth Fleet stationed in Naples. Advanced cloaking tech from the Immortal City wiped the carrier's presence from every radar, leaving only the faint thunder of engines for curious tourists on nearby air routes. Some with binoculars glimpsed the golden rose-sword emblem painted on the carrier's black hull. Those who tried to photograph it found their devices instantly wiped—or worse, fried by a mysterious burst of heat.

The Sisterhood received the signal. Excited, Tita and the other members dropped whatever they were doing. They oiled their weapons, polished their armor. Against the protests of Shuri, they insisted on arming the only fully operational sky carrier with live ammunition, a full crew, and newly initiated members. They boarded the freshly repainted and reeking-of-machinery warship, and activated the newly completed elevator platform.

They couldn't wait to welcome their master.

The refitted sky carrier had severely cramped living quarters for combat personnel. Lyudmila felt that even turning over in her bunk was a luxury. There were no windows; thick armor sealed the air inside and kept the pressure stable. Every square centimeter of space was designed with utmost efficiency, reserving as much volume as possible for the new reactor and powerful macro-cannons. Still, the designers had left a spacious conference room on the bridge for the Sisterhood.

Lyudmila and Liliya were among the first human girls inducted into the Sisterhood due to their age, ability, loyalty, diligence, and faith. Their tragic pasts had left them without hope—until the Sisterhood arrived. After grueling training and intense education, they learned to wield boltguns, swords, and power armor; to recite sacred prayers and rites for their master; to grasp basic medicine, math, physics, and chemistry; to study strategy and tactics from all eras and cultures; and to practice the refined arts of etiquette, literature, noble dance, and classical philosophy. All of this was made possible only with the aid of special tonics distributed by the Sisterhood. Without them, such a curriculum would have shattered their minds and bodies.

During training, Lady Catherine had told them that full-body augmentation was still in testing. If successful, they would eventually receive enhancements that vastly improved their physical capabilities.

Following instructions transmitted to their personal terminals, they arrived at the designated location. A ceremony awaited them. Armored women bearing the golden rose insignia stood around a circular table. At its center was a gem-encrusted throne-like chair with massive golden eagle wings forming its armrests. Fully armed, Lady Tita stood before it. She did not sit—for that seat belonged to her master.

Under the gaze of the veteran Sisters, the two young girls were assisted by mechanical arms as they donned their black power armor and crimson robes. Then they knelt with reverence and humility as Tita personally presented them with their weapons.

They vowed to wield them to their fullest potential. The weapons were standard issue—chainswords and boltguns—but they had also been trained in specialized armaments, prepared to destroy the master's enemies in any form.

Tita had flawless bronze skin, her beauty so radiant that Lyudmila and Liliya dared not look at her directly. Their past lives had left deep scars. Two of Liliya's fingers were high-tech prosthetics—yet they retained tactile sensation.

"Raise your heads," Tita commanded. The girls forced themselves to look upon her perfect face, rather than the master-crafted sword at her waist. It was the second time they had seen this blade. They had once sworn their oaths upon it. Said to be forged by their master himself, only the Supreme Commander of the Sisterhood had the right to wield it. It gleamed with a dazzling brilliance.

"The master once said: the mind is the strongest weapon. But more important than that is your loyalty. From this day forward, you are our sisters. You have no ties to your past lives. Your only purpose is to serve our master."

Lady Catherine winked cheerfully at them.

"Yes, my lady," the girls said, struggling to contain their excitement. They knew why this sudden deployment had been ordered—they were going to meet the one they had pledged their lives to. Since their rescue, they had heard stories from the Sisterhood about this person. They knew he had saved them. They had made their choice. Rather than return to their homelands, they chose to fight.

Lyudmila and Liliya were among the oldest rescued girls. Their bond had grown unbreakable through daily training—closer than blood sisters.

"Stand," Tita said, brushing the golden insignia on their shoulder plates. The steel-on-steel contact made no sound. "Welcome, sisters. Remember our vows and our secrets."

Lyudmila donned her helmet, hiding her cropped golden hair. She studied the tactical projections displayed inside her HUD and summoned the courage to ask, "Where are we going to meet our master, my lady?"

"An unmarked island south of the Rat Islands in the Western Aleutian Census Area," Tita replied. "The Intelligence Department has already begun reconnaissance. We'll eliminate any force that might pose a threat to our master—if any exist."
