Chapter 328 - 328. Is This a Spear?

As a professional, Ethan looked at the spear... and immediately began to think about how to design such a handsome and explosive piece of artwork.

While thinking, he muttered to himself, "This shape is very good. The lines on the surface change rhythmically. It's not easy to make, but if you spend more time and do a little hand polishing, it's not a big problem. It's just that the cost will be very high."

What?

Jason Liu looked at Ethan suspiciously, eyes clearly saying are you messing with me? Such a simple broken spear still needs to be hand-polished?

Really?

Jason Liu's eye twitched. "Mr. Luo, this one doesn't need to be that delicate. I think it's fine to make it with a simple assembly line process. I don't have high standards for it—just make the spear sharp enough!"

This time, it was Ethan's turn to disagree. He raised his head and looked at Boss Liu like your expectations are too high. With such a complex spear design, an assembly line can't manage it.

"Mr. Liu, the assembly line really can't handle this. Our small machines can't process such a complex shape. To get this kind of pattern, we'd have to rely on manual grinding—bit by bit."

Saying this, Ethan returned the phone to Jason Liu and suggested, "If you really want this kind of spear, you should go to a large processing factory. They'd definitely be more capable than us."

"You've got to be kidding me! President Ethan, you can't even make such a simple spear? And now you want me—"

Jason Liu thought Ethan was trying to weasel out. But before he could finish speaking, he glanced at the phone again—and was immediately distracted by the young lady on the screen.

Wait...

This wasn't the picture he had just found!

Swiping down on the phone screen, he finally located the correct spear image. Jason Liu quickly understood—it was all just a misunderstanding.

This time, he held the phone himself, showed the picture to Ethan, and said with a dry smile, "Sorry, I made a mistake just now. Not that picture—this one! See, it's just a spear with a very simple structure."

When Ethan looked, he realized—Jason really had made a mistake!

With such a simple spear, they could easily mass-produce spearheads, then purchase some spear shafts. Once assembled, this kind of spear could be produced in large quantities with no trouble at all.

"Aah... I see. I really made a mistake," Ethan said, scratching his head with an awkward smile. "So this is the serious kind of spear…"

Let's be honest—that kind of outrageous spear would've been really hard to make. President Liu must have overestimated his little factory!

This new version? Totally serious. Totally simple..

Jason Liu turned his gaze away and asked casually, "Ethan, just follow this picture and make 500 spears first. No rush—just take your time."

"No problem, Mr. Liu. We just need to make a standard spearhead for this design, then contact a wood processing plant to order a batch of spear shafts. How long do you want the shafts?" Ethan asked.

Jason Liu thought for a moment and suggested, "How about two meters?"

Ethan silently considered it, then nodded. "That works."

"Alright, then go with that standard! As for the shafts—"

Originally, Jason Liu had planned to suggest Ironwood Timber Co, but then remembered they had sold all their processing machines under his own orders. They were only selling raw logs now, without any deep wood processing.

So it didn't matter where Ethan sourced the shafts. He could take care of that himself.

After finishing the spear discussion, Ethan led Jason Liu to the innermost section of the workshop—where the production of composite pulley bows was happening.

Ethan greeted the foreman overseeing the pulley bows, picked up a newly made one, then grabbed a few matching steel arrows. With a smile, he said, "Mr. Liu, would you like to test one? We've got a space where you can try out the composite pulley bow and see if it meets your expectations."

With that, he handed the bow to Jason Liu.

Jason Liu accepted it with great interest. As soon as he held it, he felt the solid weight. The silver-gray steel bow body had pulleys at both ends—the key feature that made it easier to draw.

"Let's head to Warehouse No. 2 and try it out!"

With a pulley bow in one hand and a few steel arrows in the other, Jason Liu followed Ethan around a few corners and entered Warehouse No. 2.

The warehouse, covering 50 acres, currently stored hundreds of four-wheeled carriages of various sizes, recently delivered by the Carriage Factory.

The two of them picked an open space, and Ethan gave Jason a quick tutorial on using the pulley bow.

Thanks to the energy-saving pulley mechanism, drawing the bowstring by hand didn't require much effort, and it was easier to hold steady for accurate aiming.

Jason Liu fully drew the bowstring, squinted one eye, aimed into the distance, and released. The steel arrow shot forward.

Jason picked up another and fired again.

He launched five arrows in total, each landing far away.

Curious, Jason paced out the distance from where he stood to where the arrows had landed—roughly 347 steps.

Estimating about 55 cm per step, that meant the bow had a range of approximately 190 meters.

He took out his phone and looked up the typical range of ancient bows and arrows. Most ranged between 150 and 200 meters, depending on bowstring and material.

Of course, hitting 200 meters was rare—after all, not everyone had the strength to pull a heavy warbow.

Now, the composite pulley bow in his hands could reach 190 meters—impressive!

It could easily outperform 99% of archers in Westeros.

And since it required less effort than traditional Westerosi bows, Jason's soldiers could fire continuously with more speed and volume.

This was awesome.

Nodding in satisfaction, Jason Liu and Ethan returned to the IronForge Props Factory. Jason placed the bow and arrows on the nearby table and said, "This composite pulley bow is excellent. I'll have Fusion Trading place an order for 300 sets. Each bow should come with 20 arrows. If possible, I hope you can deliver them quickly—just like the steel swords."
