Chapter 2 - First Jump

(This jumpchain is actually made by Valeria on Reddit, who I stole it from.)

''= thinking

"" = talking

"What the hell?"

Kenny thinks as he gazes upon the strange figure in the void with him. She was very small, being about 4,2, she had lime green hair, and was as white as snow. Her face was somehow in the cat emoticon (:3), which was extremely creepy in the real world. But while he was making these observations, the girl snapped her fingers, and they went to an office.

The office was rustic, reminding Kenny of the old aesthetic of the 1950's era. He was sitting in a wooden chair with a red velvet cushion, while the girl was behind a desk in a comically large chair in order to compensate for his height. Before Kenny could say a word, the small girl talked first.

"Hewwo Kenny, I'm youw nyew jump-chan."

Kenny looked shocked as he looked around the room while rapid-firing questions at her.

"What the hell? Where am I? How are you do-"

But before he could continue, Jump-Chain's hands reached below the floor and somehow came behind him and sat him down. He felt weirdly calm as the hands brushed his shoulders and patted his head, making him look at Jump-Chan.

"Woah, slow your roll on the questions there, Ken. Can I call you Ken? I'll call you Ken. First, let me explain what's going down."

She said, before a projector materialized on her desk, and she pointed it to the left wall, her hands making Kenny look at the projection. The projection showed him an animated version of Jump-Chan clad in military gear and a green helmet that was too big on her head. Behind her was a forest with snakes and frogs wandering about. Her face formed into a deep scowl as she looked directly at the camera and spoke—or yelled rather.

"Listen up, maggot! You have been selected for the pristine opportunity of a jumpchain! What is a jumpchain, you may ask!? It is multiversal travel, where you stay in a world for normally 10 years until you get transported back to your warehouse with your perks and skills from the previous jump! And you can keep doing this until you. Stop jumping and go home. Or B. Settle down in a universe!"

After military Jump-Chan finished, the projector turned off, and the real Jump-Chan swiveled in her seat to stare at Kenny, whose hands forcefully made him look at her. "So Ken, whaddya think?" Kenny heard and didn't think twice about his decision: 'I don't have anything else back on earth. Carl, Aubrey, Mom, and dad, I swear I'll carry you guys on!"

"I'll do it!"

Jump-Chan's cat smile turns into a devious smirk as a thick contract slammed on the table, coming from nowhere, it seems. Jump-Chan guides Kenny's fingers while leaning over to point him where to sign, conveniently positioning her body over some text that Kenny didn't notice. As Kenny finished signing, the contract slowly faded away as Jump-Chan got out of her seat and walked over to a wheel that Kenny swore wasn't there before, as Jump-Chan explained.

"Normally you'll be able to choose where you go, but we've had problems with other jumpers in the past where they just got wayyyyy overpowered wayyyyy too fast to the point that they killed a lot of the higher-ups before they all got put down and this new system was put in place." Kenny wanted to ask a question, but Jump-Chan already had spun the wheel while yelling, "'Round and round and round she goes; where does she stop? Nobody knows!"

And for a solid 2 minutes. All of Kenny's attention was focused on the wheel deciding his fate as it spun... and spun... and spun.

(A/N: I actually spinned a wheel for this.)

And it landed on... KONOSUBA

Kenny honestly didn't know how to feel about this. On one hand, Konosuba is a relatively low-power world, and if Kazuma of all people could survive and thrive at that with his mostly useless party members, then he could probably do the same thing. On the other hand, he barely read Konosuba and could mess up the plot.

While Kenny was musing, Jump-Chan blasted out a long sheet of paper with many options on it and a counter of 1000 CP at the top left of the page. "All you gotta do is point at what you want, and it'll automatically adjust to what you desire," she explains.

Location: Axel

"Why is there only one location?"

"That lazy goddess only bothered to fill out one location form when we asked!"

"Wait, the gods of the world fill out these forms?"

"Yes, but actually no. Ya see, they only fill out the location, origin, and races. After that, we erase their memories and give the rest to HR."

Origins: Rouge

Now Kenny had considered taking mage before this; you can't really call yourself a man if you haven't dreamt of slinging around fireballs and making tornadoes out of nothing. But as his favorite lightning femboy once said,.

'But that's how losers think!'

(I'm genuinely considering making Kashimo a love interest or a harem member; if I decide to do that, he'll be feminized for sure, but I'm still considering it.)

Races: Human

Kenny really didn't want the existential crisis that comes with a depressed 15-year-old boy losing his humanity.

General Perk: The way the world works (This world follows the same rules that it seems every new world does these days. On entering this world, you were given an adventurer's card, which we'll describe later, and the ability to gain and use skill points to level up. Skill points are gained by killing monsters or other living beings and are automatically collected from them when the deed is done. Gather enough, and you will be able to level up on your adventurer's card, increasing your base stats and learning or upgrading your existing skills with your new points.

Kenny had another option for a perk, which was Fallen Goddess, but he really didn't want to tempt fate with these specifically worded contracts.

And after a long deliberation with himself, Kenny finally decided to choose his perks. Thankfully, Jump-Chan reminded him that origins get a 50% discount, so he spent pretty leisurely.

Boss: Stress eater-100 CP (being able to "eat emotions" as food without getting full)

Rouge: To the new world-100 CP (understanding of language and general economy)

Rouge: Stop that thief!-100 CP (basic thief skills and mastery of the steal skill)

Mage: Pulling pigtails: 100 CP (basically, small bullying = tough love and improvement).

Mage: Crazy little habits—100 CP (small things won't alert other people)

Rouge: Miracle Man-400 CP (Supernatural Luck)

Rouge: Eris' Blessing-400 CP (one free revive every jump and no embarrassing death)

Priest: Selectively religious-100 CP (the ability to turn on and off powers)

Knight: A dark beauty—100 CP (standard beauty perk, y'know?)

100 Cp remaining

After Kenny was done with his perks, he moved on to the items section.

General item: Bag of Eris-50 (just a bag full of money, about $50,000 that refills every year).

Rouge item: A place to stay-100 CP (just a decent house)

"Okay, I'm done."

Jump-Chan leans forward in her seat as the paper floats in front of her eyes as they give a questioning expression before she just shrugs and makes the paper disappear again before saying.

"Alright Kenny You got about 50 points left, so I'll give you something nice when you go in there."

"Thanks Jump-Chan!"

"No need to mention it, kid. Just get out there and have fun."

And for the first time in what feels like an eternity, Kenny gives a genuine smile as he fades away into the Konosuba world.

"Oh, thank God he's gone now!"

Jump-Chan mused as her usual cat smile turned into a nasty scowl. "T-t-t-thanks, Jump-Chan! What a fucking loser." She mocked as she kicked her feet up onto the desk and stared at the part of the contract she had consciously hid from Kenny.

-YANDERE MODE-

Yandere's are more frequent, especially in dangerous settings.
