'Phew, waking up whenever I feel like, eating food, watching different shows and just enjoying life. Now this is what I would call a dream life.'
'Now that I am able to walk it is only time before I am allowed to go outside.'
Creak
Only to get distracted by the sound. I turned my attention from the TV to the door, prompted by the familiar creak it always made.
The door slowly opened, revealing Ambra entering the living room with an arm around another man's shoulder. Both were clearly drunk, stumbling as they moved. The man slowly turned halfway behind and closed the door with a loud slam.
'Ugh, they both reek of beer.'
He looked just like your average joe, wearing a thick red jacket. He had a beard and a receding hairline, although he was still quite a looker.
Not that it would matter much.
Both of them walked drunkenly with heavy steps. Ambra pointed towards the couch, where I was currently sitting in one corner. 'Ah shit here we go again.'
Slouching down at one corner she gestured for him to sit besides her.
"Ambraa... your kid is also there hiccup, I... I can just sit on the floor." he said, barely able to stand and drunkenly gazed at Ambra as his head tilted towards one side.
She turned toward me with an annoyed look, rested her head on the back cushion of the couch and shouted for Axel, "Tinn? Tinnnn! .... pick the baby an- and, just take him away."
Axel immediately came from the kitchen, as I raised my arms towards it. I would happily get away from the drunken mess that was Ambra.
'I will remember this woman, just you wait.'
She also smelled really awful today, compared to previous times she came home drunk with other men. I glanced at the man as his drunken gaze shifted from Ambra to the robot with a peculiar change in his expression before it went back to his normal drunk expression.
'Huh, is he into robots? Why is he looking at Axel like that.' Axel picked me up in its arms, as I peeked over Axel's shoulder, the man was watching axel with deep interest. 'Must be his first time seeing a robot owned by a prostitute.'
"Hey Ambra you-your kid is there, .... we could do it in the mor-morning."
"Ahh.. you don't like getting listened when doing the deed, huh? Don't worry ab-about him, he never cries when I bring oth-other men." she replied, "Ju-just give it to m-me, Brian."
I lay in my crib distracting myself from the noise of two frustrated humans. I once again thought about my future.
'Ambra is definitely going to spend all the money by the time I may become teenager, heck it could be even before that. Unless Mrron is sending her a fixed amount every month, and that's a big if. Something I definitely can't rely on.'
'I may need to start learning anything that doesn't require money. AI should be the hot-shit in current time, so I need to gain in-depth knowledge regarding programing and AI as that may be my only way out of this hell hole.'
'From there I could work for government, the difficulty is whether Ambra is ready to cough up money for my education. Internet should help me with self learning maybe if I start early and learn with consistency I could get out before I even turn 18, and Axel could also help me.' a smiles tugs at my lips.
'Ahh, what would I do without you Axel, if not for you I would still be in my shit stained clothes.' And I was not sure whether Ambra had to take care of me. For all I knew, the contract could have been just a fancy way to keep her mouth shut.
So I only had thirteen years, not to mention that for two more years I would not be able to get out of this house on my own. Not that it would matter much, as I wouldn't be allowed outside until I was either five years old or older. I was pretty sure she is smart enough to not let a 3 years old child go outside in this bitter cold climate. Right?
'Yeah I don't think so, I mean she hasn't even named me yet. She just calls me baby this and baby that to Axel.'
As I was thinking hard about my future only to get distracted by the sounds of two of them—going hard at each other.
Mentally sighing, 'Get a room, two of you.'
I wandered off to sleep, only to then get awoken by Axel as it picked me up and gently put the nozzle of the feeding bottle against my mouth. Sleepily, I sucked on it, drinking my dinner.
'Mmm! Strawberry flavor, its good.'

"Arwin, get up." Someone shook me up from my sleep.
I groggily sat up, rubbing my sleepy eyes. Yawing for a bit before, I placed my left hand against the wall, as I got up from my small bed that was just a mattress with a bed cover. Taking my feet off the bed and feeling the cold floor as I stretched my body for a bit with my eyes closed.
I looked at my bed, the bedcover and blanket all messed up. I tidied it up and lifted the mattress, propping it against the wall so it would take up less space on the floor. It was the first thing I always did in the morning.
Looking around I turned my attention to the right where another bed sat. It was large enough for two people, with Ambra still sleeping in it. The foggy window above the head of the bed showed darkness.
The wall clock read 5:40 am, so I went to the washroom to freshen up for the day. Taking some time, as the cold water made brushing my teeth unpleasant, though I used hot water for my bath..
Getting out of the washroom, I watched Axel prepare breakfast for me, as Ambra always woke up pretty late in the morning, sometimes well into afternoon. While I had set up a routine to wake up early in the morning.
"Good morning Axel!"
"Good morning, Arwin. How do you feel today? Axel asked in its humanized voice.
"I feel well Axel, what's' up for breakfast today?" I asked with a small smile.
"It is bacon, with buttered bread."
I looked over to its side and saw a plate filled with bread while it cooked bacon over a pan.
"I will be in the living room then, you can bring it over there." I replied before heading to the hall room.
Walking over to the couch and turning on the TV, I searched for the movie that I was not able to complete yesterday. Connecting the TV to my ear phone through bluetooth, I started it from the time stamp I had left.
In the middle of watching the movie Axel brought over my breakfast which I devoured while watching and by the time I had finished it, the movie was already close to ending.
I brought the empty plates to Axel and washed my hands. And waited on the couch for Axel to teach me Chinese, as it had been homeschooling me.
Ring
While waiting for Axel, I heard the door bell ring.
I immediately got up from the couch and walked near the door to glance at the screen connected to the camera outside to observe who was outside. Glancing at the person I instantly opened the front door to greet a familiar face.
"Good morning Brian!" I said with genuine enthusiasm.
"Ah, hey there kid, how are you doing?" Brian knelt down to my height and patted my head with a smile. As he entered the apartment and glanced over to the bed where Ambra was sleeping. I closed the door behind him.
"So... she is still sleeping, huh?" he asked no one in particular, as he looked in my direction and continued, "I guess it's just you and me until your mom wakes up."
"Yep." I reply with a nod, 'Yeah, she is not an early bird.'
"So, kiddo are you excited to go outside for the first time?" Brian asked excitedly, as I nod very eagerly.
"Yes!"
