"We both know… we don't have any experience in something like this. I mean, how are we supposed to—"

Chelsea cut her off with a quiet, steadying hand on Lea's shoulder. 

"Shh," she said softly, her eyes locking onto her sister's. 

"Trust me." Her voice was calm, almost unnervingly so, but beneath it there was a spark of determination. 

"Just follow my lead. That's all. Karen already told us what Ross likes. We know enough to handle this."

Lea's stomach twisted. Her mind raced with doubts and fears—what if they failed? 

What if they made a mistake? 

The thought of letting Karen and Mom down made her feel like her chest was being squeezed. 

She swallowed hard and nodded, though her hands shook slightly.

Chelsea, meanwhile, felt a thrill rising inside her. A plan was forming, precise and cunning. 

Every detail she could remember from Karen's words and her own observations was slotting into place.
