"Mom."

Su Hanying called out softly.

Su Hanyue immediately turned toward her daughter. 

The moment she saw Su Hanying standing there, she quickly walked over and pulled her into a tight embrace.

"I'm here, Ying'er. Are you okay?"

She held her daughter firmly, almost as if she was afraid that letting go would cause Su Hanying to disappear.

Su Hanyue had expected her daughter to cry.

After everything that had happened, crying would have been completely understandable. 

She had expected Su Hanying to collapse into her arms, complain about everything she had endured, or at the very least shed some tears.

But none of that happened.

Su Hanying simply remained in her mother's embrace.

There were no tears.

No sobbing.

No screaming.

That silence somehow made Su Hanyue even more worried.

"Ying'er?"

Su Hanyue gently pulled back and looked at her daughter's face.

"Are you really okay?"

Su Hanying nodded slowly.

"I'm okay, Mom."

Her voice was calm.

Too calm.
