Chapter 80 - Episode 16 A Home (Sequel)

Alpha looked back, and it was another open room, having no door to open. The kitchen had a wall behind but at the living room there was just a large window and outside was just a jungle, completely visible. There was a table and blanket and Alpha finally started walking to the living room.

She came to the table and sat on the wooden floor in front of the table and looked outside the window, at the jungle full of trees and silence. Only winds and birds were making some pleasant voice the rest was the complete silence.

Alpha looked at me, and Zero was still looking down, towards the wall, exhausted and keeping his head down.

Alpha looked down at the table and said, "So you live around jungle?"

Zero still kept his head down and answered, "Yes...kind of. The entrance gate goes to a straight road which goes down to town. But ahead of it is also forest."

"...You really love here? And all alone?"

Zero smiled, still head down and answered, "I got this home to stay, in exchange of doing my work. And I am alone since I was born, I don't even know what's my purpose, but a few people found a power in me and they picked me up, I do work for them."

Alpha was a little bit surprised, "Oh, sounds like a movie."

Zero didn't reply anything over it, he didn't continue the conversation. And a few minutes passed by silence and Zero and Alpha were just listening to the whistle of the birds.

Alpha broke the ice again, and asked, "Can I question you from starting, about everything?"

"Go ahead, I will answer the questions if I know it. Go ahead."

"Why were you not just in the assembly? Do you hate it or something?"

Zero laughed, "Ha... listening to the voice of that old man is pain..."

But...Zero looked at the wall...he was silent, like the reason is something else, like he's lying.

"Did you already know that a Mistress will come and will chant anything for a hour?"

Zero again kept his head down and answered, "Well, yes. I already knew that she would try to hypnotize everyone and brainwash everyone, but it's not connected to ignoring the assembly, I just don't like assembly so I never try to attend it. And one correction, it was for three hours not for one hour."

"So the two hours, my mind was just being brainwashed and I don't know how much time has passed?"

"Exactly, thankfully you understood it at once."

Alpha now become serious, she looked at Zero seriously who was still looking down opposite side, towards the wall and Alpha asked.

"What about forgotten?"

Zero opened his eyes, but still kept his head down.

Alpha continued, "Do...they actually forgot me? All of them?"

Zero closed his eyes again, and answered, "Yes, you are on a situation, if someone took their eyes off from you, they will forget about you, everything. And when they will see you again, you would be a new face. Even just one blink would be enough."

Alpha started becoming emotional, she started tearing with silence and she asked, "But...why? My...parents could still remember me."

"They were lying." But Zero came straight to the fact, "They are parasites, and the moment you said them 'mother and father', they actually accepted you. But at the end, you were just going to be their dinner. Or at most, they would try to take over your body."

Alpha was left shocked, her eyes widened but still holding tears on her eyes. But she accepted it, she looked down and started crying silently, missing the moment she spent with her real family which are just in her mind now.

Zero could hear of each drops of tear of Alpha, and he raised his head looking towards the wall and said, "You better accept the reality and move on. Beautiful lies are more dangerous silent killers than the cruel truth."

And Alpha continued crying, she kept her head of the table and she finally shouted, she cried loudly. And Zero was just listening, he knew that he can't do anything over it, he doesn't knows human emotions, he doesn't knows what he should do so he just kept himself away, far enough to keep Alpha comfortable and didn't interfere.

The sun was finally going to set down, it was evening. And Alpha had slept again, with her eyes full of tears.

"Should I prepare food for her right now or should I prepare when she will awake?" And Zero was left in decision making, he couldn't think what he should do and what he should not do.

While Alpha was sleeping peacefully.

Zero couldn't decide, his dinner time is at evening only but he is already late and he can't think what he should do. There was a reason why Zero only had potatoes in his kitchen, because he won't need to think much and decide what he should make for night and morning, but now that is another issue.

"And she would be bored by potato as well, so I will need to have multiple vegetables." And Zero started sweating, "... I don't think I should think of it, who knows she chooses to live somewhere else later..."

But Zero dropped his head with disappointment, "I can't think...what should I do?"

Zero looked everywhere, and he decided to keep everything aside and he will clean the house first, he realized that it wouldn't need any decision at least. Not of doing or not, he has no problem in doing anything, he just needs a work to fulfill him.

And Zero picked up broom and a bucket of water with a cloth and started cleaning his house without disturbing Alpha.

The night arrived, and Alpha finally woke up. She rubbed her eyes and looked throughout the window, it was night and the moon was shining on the sky, big and bright.
