Chapter 68 - Seven words.

Stephen looked into Aurora's eyes, emotion swirling in his gaze like a storm held back for far too long. Before either of them could process it, the space between them vanished. His lips hovered over hers, just a breath apart, until he finally closed the distance, capturing her mouth in a kiss that trembled with longing.

His hand slid to her neck, pulling her closer, deepening the kiss until it turned from tender to urgent. Aurora's eyes fluttered shut, her hand resting against his chest as he pressed her against the wall, his mouth moving to her neck with fevered hunger. He kissed her like a man who had been deprived of her for far too long.

Her neck. Her shoulder. Her collarbone.

Then he paused, his lips brushing her skin as he looked up at her with smoldering eyes. One hand traced the curve of her ear as he whispered, "Can I take a bite?"

Aurora gave a breathless nod, her voice barely a tease. "Yes, Stephen. Just… don't kill me. You're looking at me like I'm your last meal."
