Chapter 445 - Chapter 446: Calm

In the blink of an eye, evening had arrived. Just as Qingming completed his last round of training and was preparing to rest before heading out for a reconnaissance mission, he suddenly noticed a new skill appeared on his panel.

It wasn't any new technique, but rather Earth Style: Earth Flow Wall.

After several hours of contemplation and practice, he had finally managed to imprint this technique onto his panel.

This meant that from now on, he only needed to consume chakra to methodically work toward mastering this technique.

However, considering the current circumstances, Qingming decided not to invest too much chakra into it for the time being. As long as he mastered it to the entry level, he could use it when necessary.

Next, he planned to use all the 70,000 chakra points that had been diverted from Wind Style: Spiraling Shuriken to enhance Earth Style: Hardening Technique.

With his previous calculations based on chakra consumption and skill growth, Qingming estimated that these 70,000 chakra points could help him earn around 700 skill points per day for Earth Style: Hardening Technique.

Since it required 1,000 points to upgrade from level 3 to level 4, in about a day and a half, he would successfully level up the technique. With another three days, he could reach level 5.

By then, Earth Style: Hardening Technique would be suitable for real combat and could be used to handle more complex situations.

This thought filled Qingming with anticipation.

As for Guarding Seal and Object Sealing Array, he had saved up 5,000 chakra points from halting his practice of Fine Extraction Technique and an additional 4,000 chakra points that were originally allocated to earth chakra development. This was more than enough for now.

He wasn't in a rush to use these two sealing techniques, so he could afford to work on them gradually.

Closing his skill panel, Qingming stood up and stretched his slightly stiff body.

Not staying idle, he formed a hand seal and activated Wind Style: Wind Wings.

With a "whoosh," a pair of pale blue chakra wings appeared.

Qingming controlled them, gently flapping them.

In the next moment, he flew towards the Blackstone Stronghold.

After about ten minutes, Qingming arrived at the Blackstone Stronghold.

He first ate dinner to fill his stomach, then received his mission before flying towards the southern town of Flying Fish.

From the mission briefing, Qingming learned that the Mist ninjas in Flying Fish Town had been very quiet throughout the day, with no unusual activity.

Thus, tonight, he had to stay particularly vigilant.

That night.

The moon was bright, and the stars were sparse.

Qingming hovered in the sky, his Sharingan eyes scanning the situation below in Flying Fish Town.

He could see that the town was well-lit, with traces of Mist ninjas moving around.

Clearly, not only were Konoha ninjas wary of surprise attacks from the Mist ninjas, but the Mist ninjas were equally concerned about a potential Konoha nighttime raid.

This high level of vigilance was a clear sign of that mutual fear.

Qingming then shifted his gaze to several tall buildings in the town. Sure enough, he saw crossbows set up in strategic positions, manned by Mist ninjas.

Additionally, he observed more Mist ninjas inside the buildings.

They hadn't tried to hide anything. It seemed their intention was to intimidate him.

However, Qingming wasn't considering a direct confrontation. While he was confident he could escape if needed, he had no reason to take such a risk. Instead, he preferred using the time to train.

With that thought in mind, Qingming flew away from Flying Fish Town.

After spending some time, he arrived at the rocky shore where he had been training recently, and dismissed Wind Style: Wind Wings.

The moment his feet touched the ground, Qingming used Shadow Clone Technique.

In an instant, eleven shadow clones appeared in a burst of chakra smoke.

Qingming surveyed them, instructing one clone to replace him in monitoring the Mist ninja activity.

He himself, along with the remaining ten clones, began training.

Communication was maintained through Mind Link Technique, which did not interfere with their tasks.

Time passed minute by minute.

Before long, an entire night had passed.

The Mist ninjas in Flying Fish Town remained unexpectedly quiet.

Qingming took advantage of this peaceful night to train diligently.

The next day.

In the early morning.

As the first rays of sunlight hit the ocean's surface, Qingming opened his eyes. By then, his shadow clones had already completed their scheduled training. From the latter half of the night, he had been alone, focusing on the time-consuming Palm Immortal Technique and Mind Link Technique.

Though he felt mentally fatigued, the progress visible on his skill panel brought him great satisfaction.

Looking at the increasing proficiency of his skills, he felt that his efforts from the previous night had not been in vain.

"Hoo~Hoo~"

He took a deep breath, exhaling slowly.

Qingming calmed his mind, then made a hand seal and activated Mind Link Technique, instantly connecting with the shadow clone stationed more than twenty kilometers away.

After confirming that everything was normal in Flying Fish Town, Qingming had the clone dismiss the Shadow Clone Technique.

A moment later, a stream of memories filled his mind.

He skimmed through them quickly, reaffirming that the Mist ninjas in Flying Fish Town had made no unusual moves. Satisfied, he activated Wind Style: Wind Wings and soared into the sky, heading back towards the Blackstone Stronghold.

About fifteen minutes later, Qingming returned to the skies above the Blackstone Stronghold.

The Konoha ninjas on duty below saw him and did not raise any objections.

After landing, Qingming immediately returned to his quarters, forced himself to focus, and wrote a mission report.

Once done, Qingming formed a hand seal and used Shadow Clone Technique to create one clone.

He handed the report to the clone and instructed it to submit it while he made his way to the mess hall.

Energy is conserved, and although he could regenerate more chakra than most, it also meant that he needed to consume more.

Typically, he replenished his chakra using military rations. However, he had to admit that the taste of the military rations left much to be desired.

So whenever possible, he would opt for a meal at the mess hall.

Although the conditions were harsh and the food was far from gourmet, it was still better than the military rations.

After quickly finishing several bowls of noodles and filling his stomach, Qingming left the mess hall.

Without waiting for the food to fully digest, he returned to his quarters and went straight to bed.

And so, he slept for the entire morning.

When Qingming finally opened his eyes again, the sun was directly overhead.

The harsh sunlight seeped through the window, causing him to squint as he instinctively closed his eyes again.

He raised his hand to shield himself from the light, sat up, and stared off into space for a moment before tidying his clothes and getting out of bed.

After washing up, Qingming stretched and felt a sense of comfort throughout his body.

"After I eat, I'll work on upgrading Earth Style: Hardening Technique and Wind Style: Wind Wings," Qingming thought to himself, just as he heard a faint sound. His brows furrowed slightly.

Almost immediately after, there was a knock at the door.
