Chapter 486 - Chapter 487: Departure

After contemplating for a moment, Qingming once again activated his Mangekyō Sharingan. As a line of blood tears slid down his right eye, the power of "Heavenly Dominion" was once again unleashed.

Immediately, an invisible force enveloped him and began guiding the integration of the Byakugan at his brow into his being, following his will.

One second, two seconds, three seconds...

It took a full twenty seconds before the technique ceased.

Checking the panel again, the awakening level of the Byakugan in the "Bloodline" section remained unchanged at 15/100.

Unperturbed, Qingming rested briefly before activating the power of "Heavenly Dominion" once more, continuing the integration process.

As before, after another twenty seconds—the current limit of his endurance—he deactivated the power of "Heavenly Dominion."

Yet, the awakening level of the Byakugan remained stubbornly static.

Frowning slightly, Qingming remained silent and began again after his eyes felt better.

This cycle continued repeatedly.

After about five minutes...

Qingming maximized his effort, utilizing the power of "Heavenly Dominion" five times in succession. Finally, the awakening level of the Byakugan on the panel shifted from 15/100 to 16/100!

Seeing this change, a smile of satisfaction appeared on Qingming's face.

As expected, the power of "Heavenly Dominion" could indeed increase the awakening level of the Byakugan.

This realization provided him with a fallback strategy.

Why only a fallback?

The answer was simple. Based on his calculations, achieving full awakening of the Byakugan through "Heavenly Dominion" would require approximately 425 full-power activations.

Certainly, as the evolution level of his Mangekyō Sharingan improved, the effectiveness and duration of each use would increase. However, this wouldn't change the fact that this approach required frequent use of the Mangekyō Sharingan's abilities.

Qingming had no desire to risk early blindness and thus couldn't fully rely on this method.

Moreover, even if he achieved full awakening of the Byakugan, it would still need further evolution. Continually relying on "Heavenly Dominion" for this purpose was unrealistic.

No matter how resilient Qingming was, such repeated strain on his eyes would eventually take a toll.

As a result, this method could only serve as a backup plan and not the main strategy.

Wait—

Suddenly, a thought struck Qingming: if his Mangekyō Sharingan were to evolve into the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, thereby eliminating the risk of blindness, could this method become a viable long-term solution?

Tap. Tap. Tap.

His fingers lightly drummed the operating table as Qingming fell into deep thought.

After a long time, he returned to his senses.

A relieved smile appeared on his face.

After careful consideration, Qingming concluded that this possibility was highly feasible.

Moreover, he resolved to follow this path.

After all, his Sharingan's evolution was a gift from his predecessors, whereas developing a new skill comparable to "Soul Resonance" to facilitate Byakugan evolution from scratch was nearly impossible—at least in the short term.

And in the long term...

Qingming glanced at his Mangekyō Sharingan evolution level: 14416/50000. At his current progress rate, it would take him about a year to reach the level of the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

Thus, there was no need to waste effort on a more complex solution.

Moreover, even though his Byakugan's bloodline hadn't fully awakened, it didn't affect his ability to use the eye. The limitation was only in its enhancement potential.

For now, his current Byakugan capabilities were sufficient.

After weighing all factors, Qingming decided to temporarily set aside the issue of fully awakening his Byakugan bloodline.

"Phew..."

Letting out a long breath, Qingming felt a sense of ease throughout his body.

Now, the next concern was how to conceal the Byakugan at his brow.

Although his Byakugan could be freely activated and deactivated, its presence remained visually conspicuous even when inactive.

This would not do.

After some thought, Qingming turned his attention to the skill panel.

His gaze skipped over the various skills that had seen more or less improvement and settled on the two sealing techniques at the bottom of the panel: "Guardian Seal" and "Storage Formation".

The latter was irrelevant to his current needs, but the former might help conceal the Byakugan.

However...

Due to a lack of necessity, Qingming had only allocated 5,000 chakra points to its practice after halting his training of "Minor Healing Extraction," leaving it at a mere lv2 (250/500).

At level 2, its efficacy was far from reassuring.

After considering for a moment, Qingming raised his hand and deactivated "Shadow Clone Technique."

Instantly, the two shadow clones in the hall and outside the cave vanished.

His chakra reserves, reflected on the panel, surged from just over 20,000 to over 80,000 points.

It was not yet 2 PM, leaving nearly five hours until nightfall.

Currently, with his active and passive recovery combined, Qingming could regenerate over 12,000 chakra points per hour—amounting to 60,000 in five hours.

Adding the 80,000 points he now had, his total chakra reserves would reach 140,000 points.

Investing all of this into training "Guardian Seal" could increase its proficiency by about 1,400 points—enough to raise it from lv2 to lv4.

While it wouldn't achieve the qualitative leap of level 5, surpassing level 3 would suffice to evade standard detection methods.

As for more detailed probes...

Given his current strength and status, few would dare to challenge him.

If someone did, Qingming wouldn't mind turning them into stepping stones for further mastery of this skill.

"Alright, let's do it!"

Having made up his mind, Qingming wasted no time. He flipped off the operating table and crossed his hands to form the "Seal" hand sign, reactivating "Shadow Clone Technique."

Poof!

With a burst of chakra smoke, four shadow clones appeared, making five Qingmings in total.

The five exchanged glances, and without needing instructions, each found a spot to begin practicing "Guardian Seal."

In the hall, the clones trained diligently, merging insights with every dispel cycle.

This continued hour by hour.

After five hours, Qingming looked at the panel displaying "Guardian Seal," now freshly advanced to lv4.

Fatigue was evident on his face, but a satisfied smile lingered.

Closing his eyes, Qingming processed the new insights from the level-up. Without delay, he raised his hand and performed the seal to apply the technique to his brow.

Instantly, a dense array of sealing symbols appeared, covering his face and encircling the Byakugan. The sight was intimidating.

However, Qingming paid it no mind.

With a swift change of hand signs, he whispered a command: "Seal!"

The sealing symbols converged toward the Byakugan, sinking into it and vanishing.

The Byakugan disappeared along with them.

Summoning a water mirror, Qingming examined his brow. Only a faint "§" mark remained.

Satisfied, he tied on a Konoha forehead protector, concealing the mark entirely.

Now, as long as no one conducted a meticulous inspection, the Byakugan's existence would remain undetected.

With this final concern resolved, Qingming felt entirely at ease.

After resting briefly to recover some chakra, he activated "Wind Style: Wind Wings," ascending into the sky and heading toward the Blackstone Base.
